How do you even manage to play a game for hundreds and hundreds of hours?

How do you even manage to play a game for hundreds and hundreds of hours?
I just dont get it

for multiplayer games its very easy.

i remember in like 10th grade i thought that my 100+ hours in a pokemon game was a lot.

now here i am with 4600+ hours played in a single game wondering what went wrong.

If you're not a babby casual it's pretty easy.

200 is nothing
Since it's TF2, some of it was probably spent idling anyway

I've got 580 something hours in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. I'll be honest, I have no idea how I played that game for so long without burning out. No other game I own even breaks past 100 hours and I have a pretty large collection.

depend of the game
and why you play

Because not everyone is a consumerist

Dota?

Three different accounts I've played on

No, LoL

now think about what you'd accomplish if you spent that time playing guitar

tfw a lot of your CS(S) playtime from years and years ago is gone

thought about it
could have masturbated all that time too I guess

What's your mmr?

im sorry

that other guy wasn't me, it's another pokemon game.

sad to say it's shit ass PokeMMO.

I've never played any 'single-unit strategy games'. Explain me, how can you play same map over and over again and enjoy it?

3k mmr ;_;

7200+/- 50 now

the map itself is pretty far out of focus

i regret every single hour in CSGO but in my defense it was before they added the cosmetics and community servers were much more popular.

imagine playing any sports game

same field, different players, different strategies

dota has an incredibly detailed map with deep nuances where you can find and create new juke spots with destructible terrain and highground and novel tricks in creep camps. Even after 1000 games you'll see new juke tricks with tangos/branches in a game

LoL on the other hand has a dead featureless map, like starcraft 2

>hundreds and hundreds
That's literally only two hundreds you goddamn scrotum licker

me neither, somehow i have 400 hours on skyrim (pretty tame actually, most people in my friends list has over 1k)

thats my point you retarded shitsack
i only played it for 200 hours

> LoL on the other hand has a dead featureless map

BUT MUH BUSHES

I thought I only played FIFA two or three times per week and had maybe 1 or 2 hundred hours at most. Turns out I have over 1000 hours since September.

Were not the product of media like fucking vine designed to induce the attention span of a toddler.

It's pretty easy once you get into it.

>200 hours
>i just dont get it
filthy casual

You know how some games you go to start and they pop up with a little window with options like "play" "edit options" "update".
Leave that on the screen, rack up hours easy.

it's almost as if OP has never played a game he actually enjoyed.

>651 hours
t. 2k mmr

that's how I pretend to play videogames while I shitpost on anime image board

Nah. I played LoL for about 1000 hours before switching to DotA2 back in 2012 and that really helped a lot.

>wasted 191+ days of his life
I'm so sorry

...

What is replayability?

> talk about wasting time
> on anime image board

>game is 15 hours
>replay it 140 times

fun things are fun
>fun

>feelsbad.jpg

On same boat

What is Left 4 Dead 2?

When you find a game you really enjoy you easily put a couple of hundreds of hours in it.

First, it starts with progressing with the story (if it even has one), then more hours are added in finishing objectives/achievements, then more hours because I simply like the game, then more hours because it has turned into some sort of habit (final phase).

For MH4U, for an example, I couldnt stop playing it every time I woke up in the mornings. It just evolved into a habit and I only stopped when I started feeling sick just by seeing a MH4U titlescreen.

LMAO
I thought I had a problems by clocking 2 hours.
Why different accounts though ? Banned ?
Thanks for making me feel better about mysef user.

>Why different accounts though ? Banned ?
once upon a time it could take 50+ minutes to find a game with high mmr
nowadays valve "fixed" it by saying the moment a game search goes past 5 minutes, all mmr ranges are removed and you get matched with the highest players available, so you can get 7k and 3k on the same team late at night

If the games are fun to play and have a sense of depth to them it's rather easy.
Multiplayer focused might be the biggest time sinkers, but some single player games fair well, especially if they are modable.

>in b4 MGSV is shit
Still had my fun with it, despite it's glaring flaws.

MGSV isn't the only shit game in that picture

>hating on NV
That's taking it too far user.

>eve
>5k hours
Fucking kill yourself.

>You know how some games you go to start and they pop up with a little window with options like "play" "edit options" "update".
what in the fuck?
what in the everliving fuck?
Yes, it's called a fucking MENU and almost every single game ever in existence has it.
Are you an alien?
