i started it months ago, just now picking it up again to seriously play it, i just got to vizima for the first time. (like 1 hr in) nothing is connecting so far.

what is happening?

>Geralt and Vesemir go to find Yennefer
>They get on her trail and fuck around near a village for a while, killing a griffin in the process
>Then Yennefer shows up with a bunch of Nilfgaardians and takes Geralt to Vizima

The first area also has some sidequests that I don't know if you've completed.

Geralt gets his memory back, goes searching for his lost love Yennefer, you eventually find her at the end of the prologue after killing a griffin, she requires your aid in finding Ciri, Ciri is the daughter of the Niflguard emperor and was raised by Geralt

Follow leads to find black chick.

Stab a bird.

Find black chick working with the King for some reason.

The king wants Ciri for some reason.

Geralt wants Ciri for reasons too.

Go find your daughter because of a magic prophecy or some shit. It really doesn't matter, the story and writing were way under par

He gets a letter from his lover (that he hadnt spoken to in a while), telling him to meet up with her.

He goes to the location indicated by the letter (the prologue area), and eventually meets up with her, before she takes him to the imperial palace, currently occupied by an emperor who is imvading the northern realms

The problem with picking Triss is that the dev team obviously intended the opposite.
