Well, for P4 I get to have P3's cast and not have to crawl through the fucking Tartarus. That's a huge plus.

Since the only advantages 4 had over 3 were it's cast and setting 4 would become practically obsolete.

Depends on how you look at it. In the animated versions of each game they've got pretty different personalities.

P4 anime puts the protag as a swagmaster cool kid who gets all the girls.
P3 movies put the protag as an antisocial asshole who very begrudgingly comes to start working with the others.

In the first P3 movie, the protag doesn't even come along to the first full moon event. He only shows up at the end to save everyone's ass from Emperor and Empress.

P3 cast will never see eye to eye with their shadows since they can force out their personas anyways.
No idea how the P4 cast will fare but seeing shadows can exist just fine in the Dark Hour then I see no reason why summoning personas normally can't be done.
