And NES, SNES, Gameboy( all versions), playstation 1 and 2 and 3 is getting heavy work all this and last year. A new xbox emu showed up the beginning of this year expected release end of this year beginning of next. Wii is being emulated now also, Wii U and 3DS/N3DS are going up. Everything on Xbox one is coming to PC. PS4 is apparently going to get picked up from the guys doing PS3 after they get a good range of shit done.

There is next to no literal reason for consoles to keep going. PC will be doing everything in another 5 years. The next console generation is going to be the killing point unless it's built on a year standard that cost what it should and not be obsolete day 1. Any other emulation I didn't go into depth with does have emulation also things like the virtual boy and sega genesis/ mega drive.

How about you tell me all about those great exclusives that PC has, CS, DotA? Star Citizen? Come the fuck on.

Faster Than Light, RTS games like AoE 2, Arma 2 with mods for glorious 32v32 or 16v16 + vehicular combat, Assetto Corsa with a racing wheel (I have Logitech G25, which is 3 pedal) runs circles around GT5-6 or Forzas in terms of physics realism, CnC Renegade / Renegade X / Crysis 1 were all very fun games on MP

The vast majority of players aren't interested in waiting 10 years for a properly working emulator. Being able to emulate classic games is nice, but people have already played them to death on the console they came from by that point.

Depends on how long til the next update 5.0 just came out and solved a fuck ton of issues with Dolphin.

I believe the people on the Dolphin project are working on eventually making it a catch all for nintendo emulation. Only things it's really lacking are 3DS, Wii U, and Virtual boy.

Because consoles can't into backwards compatibility and this is by far the worst generation out of all generations. This generation is the dwindling point for consoles finally. Next generation better bring something from current year hardware and not obsolete from day 1 bullshit or it's going in the grave this time. PC will end up doing everything in the next 5-10 years. The console market will die off and all major companies will either shift into video game development as a full time or fall into obscurity when the market bubble burst like it did in the 70s to 80s. That's what lead to the first crash was garbage obsolete pile up and no innovation to speak of. That's why Atari is dead.

Like if you run n64 emulators for Zelda 64, you're only going to get 15fps but that's only for system parity.

The emulator is super early in development.
And to be fair WIIU has like 10-15 games worth playing.
Most of them are just multi plats or inferior ports.

You need the IR bar dongle still, you no longer need the bluetooth for the controller directly.

you can actually "overclock" inside an emulator to replicate if the N64 was more powerful, allowing you to play Zelda at higher framerates.
