Why other souls games don't have iconic bosses like pic related

Why other souls games don't have iconic bosses like pic related

Dark Souls 3 has some bosses with pretty neat designs, themes and arenas...
Maybe not DS1 quality, but some of them are still pretty memorable.

But they do user.

Pontiff?

They do.

Ds2

> Dragon slayer
> Fume Knight
> Executioner's Chariot
> Looking Glass Knight

Ds3

> Abyss Watchers
> Pontiff Sulyvahn
> Dancer of the Boreal Valley
> Lothric, Younger Prince
> Champion Gundyr
> Nameless King
> Soul of Cinder

Ds3 had the best bosses

If Bloodborne counts, Ludwig and Gehrman.

Because they're just "good"

You know, DaS for all it's flaws easily had the most "woah" moments in the series

It's highest points are just too high for the rest to reach desu

Holy shit I love that game

Just because you didn't play Demon's Souls doesn't mean it didn't have memorable bosses.

Unrelated, but why do normies find Gerhman so hard to beat? Beat him on my first try with parries lmao

>No Ivory King

Executioners chariot was really cool

It had less.

Honestly, i only care for Astrae, but i get why people like Allant and Old Monk.

As a "final boss", Gehrman is certainly the hardest in the series

Tower Knight and the Penetrator are cool bosses too.

But at the expense of their Npc is just not enough
Remember
Good bosses is this: causing a variety of different emotions, not only anger and hatred about the hitboxes and mechanics
Ds2:
>The Pursuer
>The Skeleton Lords (if you rip them fast)
>Ruin Sentinels
>Royal Rat Vanguard (until you know that it is only one rat)
>Demon of Song
>Velstadt, The Royal Aegis and Fume Knight
>Burnt Ivory King
Ds3:
To be honest I only remember
>Vordt of the Boreal Valley
>Deacons of the Deep
>Dragonslayer Armour
>Lothric, Younger Prince
>Nameless King
>Soul of Cinder (but only 1 phase when he changes weapons)

and dont forget about ONE PUNCH Wyvern

Why the fuck is this DLC so fucking hard? I spent half a day trying to beat blur Smolten Demon and now I've spent the whole night trying to beat this asshole. Sunken King and Ivory King weren't this stupid.

Artorias of the Abyss and the Old Hunters aren't this hard.

beating Fume Knight solo with only a Greatsword after 7 tries felt so good

don't get all the extreme DS2 hate, it was a fun adventure

>7 tries

and here I am on my 5002883rd try

Is this a joke?

Ludwig, Maria, Ebrietas, Orphan of Kos, Amygdala, Gehrman, Laurence/ Cleric beast, Gascoigne, the One reborn, Micolash, Moon presence, they are all fucking iconic

dark souls 1 is ironically probably the one with the least good/ memorable bosses total unless you count spinoff shit like DKS2 and 3

he was talking about souls games, anonymous.

pfft, talk about reading comprehension, eh?

Because they're only iconic since you played DaS first.

Souls are fucking shit (at least the first one, it's the only one I played and I dropped it after the crystal cave)
a lot of stuff is done right in the game, but not the battle system
and you spend ALL of your playtime fighting monsters in the same boring and tedious way.
fucking roll and smash the attack button, people will say it's not any different from a lot of games but they have other things going for them and the fights don't take all the playtime, most bosses don't even have a proper weakness and you just have to fight them the same way you fight regular monsters, without skimping on estus flask this time

dark souls is boring as hell

>but they have other things going for them and the fights don't take all the playtime
Like what? The ssssssstoooory? Do you like the ssssssstoooooooorry of action games, user? Do you play them for the cuuuuuuuuutsceeenes?

a gameplay doesn't necessarily revolve only around a goddamn battle system

Pontiff Sulyvahn is the best Souls boss if you don't parry and you can't convince me otherwise

So you want a collectan gaem like Skyrim?

>most bosses don't even have a proper weakness and you just have to fight them the same way you fight regular monsters
How is this a negative? You're upset that it's not rock paper scissors or zelda "hit the weakpoint three times" bosses?

Is he a pope or a pontiff?

Is GhostPope a meme like space pope is yet?

that ghost is going to trick me up when I get around to playing Dark Souls 3

it wouldn't suit dark souls
FS just fucked up, if they wanted to make the battle system extremely relevant in the game they should've rendered it less repetitive and limited
it feels like a hack'n'slash without the diversity

>What is Tower Knight
>What is Penetrator
>What is False King Allant
>What is Flamefucker
>What is Dragon God
>What is the Maneaters
>What is the Old Monk
>What is Storm King
>What is Garl Vinland

Most iconic Dark Souls boss, good backstory, best entrance, good ost, good moveset and fighting style(though sometimes he seems to have brain freezes) and a nice arena.

who is that?

You and your knights vs The King and his knights.
Awesome, really.

You can easily destroy him by wailing on him while he's summoning his clone.

All the bosses in that DLC try to fuck with your timing. I had the same problem.

It's weird how people always ragged on DS2 for having too many humanoid bosses.

Meanwhile, humanoid bosses are the only ones anyone cares about, or does fanart of.

Who would win in a fight between Artorias and Sir Alonne?

Who /pontiff/ over here?
He's the real MVP of Dark Souls 3

Because some people like fighting him without parries.
A lot of people never learned how to parry that well either.

DS3 has my favorite bosses

I need to replay it on a dex build or something, I was going str and killed sully in like 10 seconds

Ugh, I fucking love Fume Knight. Beating him on NG+ with his own FKGS is one of my favorite memories from the entire series. Get rid of your shield and learn to roll, pham.

gameplay? Alonne ez
>almost triple the hp of artorias
>hits harder
>faster
lorewise maybe arty

DaS2 DLC almost makes up for the base game
Almost

what's so bad about the base game? It's somewhat unmemorable but it's pretty damn fun

The way the areas are laid out kind of feels like it's DeS2

I just beat Sully last night while streaming a whip only run, shit was cash. It's a really fun fight when you have to rely on timing and dodging because you do less damage.

>Dragon slayer
I finished DS1 a couple weeks ago and recently started on 2. I'm enjoying the game so far but Dragonslayer was a fucking joke. He just did the same attack over and over and I beat him first try. The fucking Heide Knights were harder than him

the areas generally don't feel really well designed, and a lot of times the difficulty feels cheap.

memorable because you always remember that armor.

Different user but to me the areas all feel like they had a checklist of different settings to put into the game. Here's your forest level, but make sure you include a fiery lava level as well. The bosses feel pretty samey and you rarely need to mix up your strategy or try anything new to beat them.

That being said I still enjoy DaS2 a lot, it does a lot of cool things, but it's the weakest in the series for me.

If all of the humanoid bosses fought each other, who would win?

Circle-strafe him to the right.

Cause the sequels are shit

Ludwig>Ornstein and Smough>=Gwyn>everyone else

...

I disagree OP.
