>played Oblivion when it first came out >thought it was pretty fun, enjoyed the atmosphere and characters although it was pretty standard fantasy >played Skyrim when it came out >okay I guess but just seemed like a time sink where nothing got accomplished
I thought the Oblivion combat was wonky yet fairly balanced and deep, and the Skyrim combat was fluid yet shallow as fuck. This just looks bad though kek, are they both really low level?

jesus christ, you skycucks

its fine you just need to understand what the different numbers of your stats mean and not take on enemies way higher level than you
Chase Rogers
I mean... that still looks horrible

Oblivion has characters?

Its fair and it makes sense when you know how it works, but its still better with something like gracious violence or the /vg/ edit of gracious violence
Lincoln White
No unless you use weapons wich you have low skill for, or try to fight someone higher level than you.

>Altmer >The Altmer are one of the oldest races on Tamriel, one of the earliest descendants of the original mer race of Aldmer, and from there, through the Ehlnofey to the divine et'Ada themselves. As a race, they are extremely proud of their Aldmeri heritage and make a concerted effort to maintain their genetic lineage. Their name translates from the Aldmeri language as High Ones or Cultured Ones; a name which is often interpreted to mean "tall", or more often, "snobbish". For their part, the Altmer argue that they are the first true culture on Tamriel and still the most civilized race; an argument that even human scholars find difficult to refute. The Altmer primarily live in the province of Summerset Isle, a large island off the southwest coast of Tamriel, which shares a border with Valenwood. According to their histories, their Aldmeri ancestors arrived on Summerset Isle due to mysterious reasons from the continent of Aldmeris.

Why aren't any of you moving? It still serves a purpose. While stats determines whether or not his actually hits or misses, you can legitimately dodge attacks as well.

>0 stamina woah... really makes you hit...
Camden Martinez
not really. It's stat-based combat. When you lose it's because your stats suck AND you're not prepared, since there's plenty of ways to improve your odds.
Basically when you attack someone game uses your skill with type of weapon, stamina, agility and luck (in that order) to calculate your hit chance. Then it armor, skill in using armor, agility and luck of your opponent to calculate his evasion chance. Then your hit chance and his evasion chance are compared to define chances for your attack to do damage, and chances to do jack.

I certainly enjoyed Morrowind far more than Oblivion and also Skyrim, but the graphics are near impossible to live with today. If you're going to play it, research which mods hardcore fans use today.
If you don't mind terrible graphics, play Might&Magic 6-8, it's a great "trilogy" and although immersion and graphics don't compare to Morrowind, they have a comparable game experience, only better.

>people will still defend accuracy stats in a direct input combat system >not realizing that accuracy stats exist in ttrpgs to take place before an attack and isn't supposed to be calculated after it has connected to the target
