He tried to save her, he only destroyed everything that had a chance to. He was right that she was not making her own decisions, but all he did was remove the choices and force her to make one herself. Brad was as much of a monster as they were, his only saving grace is how much he cared for Buddy.

The worst part, the worst FUCKING part was when Terry got taken for the third time in the last zone. I had given up so much to save him. I gave so many mags, I gave my arm, I gave Buddy's fucking nipple and NONE OF IT MATTERED. Nothing I could do could save him.

Terry died because he came with me, and right after Nern left, literally when I rested up to recover from the fight.

this is why I hated Joyful's story. All the implied shit is dashed. Buzzo does a 180 and suddenly Brad was a good friend. All these waxing poetic moments where characters barf out exposition. No humor. No good call backs. I wish Austin would have stayed away from reading fan theories.

Your choices don't really matter in the story besides 1-2 dialogue changes. However, they can either make the game easier or potentially make the game fucking brutal.

Endings are affected by whether you give joy to brad or not. If you are playing painful you get a special ending that overrides the others, so take as much joy as you want.

It's meant to be more like a DLC. In my opinion it was a nice addition storywise. I've wondered all throughout The Painful why was Buzzo doing the shit he did.
