The problem I see online, mostly from overly-defensive Europeans, is that they equate America's contribution to the end of WWI as non-existent.
America did play a part, it was the added pressure and needed push to end the war. America was able to pump in soldiers by the 10's of thousands daily, and while they were not as effective as hoped, the surge of fresh troops did increase morale.
But because they didn't slog through the years of trench warfare and misery, people look back and pretend they did nothing.
