Still counting the days until August. Any thoughts as to what passives the ox spirit might have? It can't be health based since sharko does that, but maybe it could reduce damage and Ki costs while blocking. Lets hear some neat ideas.

From the alpha alone the combat system felt like it had a lot more depth to it, which was really cool and fun. Not sure I totally buy what they said there though, I mean they've already made a bunch of changes that will undoubtedly make it easier, like the lock on movement change for one. Perhaps they mean from the beta onwards but I'm gonna wait and see, and ask for some reversals on a few changes if necessary.

so on to the ox. The ox had a purple glow to it, and in the nioh demo, the purple glow was for, if I remember correctly, the sloth talisman, which slowed enemies down.

I feel like the ox is not really a buff-type guardian like the four listed, but rather a debuff guardian, as in it lowers the stats of enemies rather than improving william's stats. Another theory is that an ox being a strong type of animal, it could increase William's defense or maybe his efficiency at heavier weapon types (axes and hammers).

The day before Nioh comes out, I'll stream the Last Samurai for us.

The purple related to the Earth element, the only one that didn't have a guardian until now, so he's gonna be covering that one. I never actually thought about a guardian being more about debuffs than buffing William himself, that could be pretty interesting if it was the case. I was thinking it'd be defensive due to the comment about it being physically strong as well as me just associating a big ass earth ox as being bulky, but I don't know how they'd differentiate that from the shark in practice. Maybe it'll improve his carrying capacity so he can wear heavier stuff.

Oh and Raiken had an exp boost, cause dogs are quick to learn or something I think.

They are probably saying this after backlash from what they said they would change. If you actually played the demo and read the notes you would know 9/10ths of the changes they announced were nerfs.
