R9 480 is point to point with PS4 Neo Performance.
PS4 Neo is just 4 tflops while R9 480 is just 1 tflop better. The difference is point to point with PS4 Neo in performance, that means that 60% of extra performance by optimization is now less than 25% due to down level API available now for PC too.
Every time pc is getting better performance in time while consoles are losing performance.

For a fraction of the cost of a powerful PC I get to play every multiplat and exclusives that are much better than anything on PC:

Cost of powerful PC: $1500
Cost of PS4: $350

Now in a generation of consoles PC users usually upgrade at least once to be able to keep up with better graphics, while consoles don't have to because games are better optimised. On the other hand you have to pay for online:

PC upgrade: $250
6 years (average generation length) online: $300

Total costs in a gen:
PC: $1750
PS4: $650

So you pay a full $1000 more than me simply for games that look a bit better and run in 30 fps more, while playing worse games.

If you are into gaming there is literally no reason not to have a pc. Best multiplats, open ecosystem, and indies if you're into that.

I don't think I'll use the PC for big releases that often. Even if I did, that would be fine with me. I'm planning on using it for photoshop too.
