The design is ok actually, the game however is not.

We never got that many Battle Network or Legends games.

The design itself is fine, but it was wasted on a very poorly done game.

Like, I would have been fine with a card collection game with some RPG elements, but this game turned it all into a grind fest with a very poor presentation. Hell, most sprites don't even animate right because of how they wobble around from frame to frame.

The ZX games didn't. They were a good continuation of the Z base, but they ended prematurely.

X had a bunch of new tears after X5.
The OG series doesn't have a hint to a conclusion.
BN just faded to the future after one of their games.
ZX completely undermined the finality of the Zero series, and ended on a cliffhanger.
