I love being second cake. I'm working on a second cake right now. The culture of these threads tends to be "once a request gets delivered, you shouldn't request again again." So if there's an idea you think is cool, there's pressure to do it well, since the requester will get shat on for trying again, and may not try again at all. As the second cake, you either contribute something worse (which is fine, since someone else did the idea more justice) or you make something better and do it more justice yourself.
