If Square cancelled the PS4 version. It's because they know anyone reasonable who really wants to play Rise Of The Tomb Raider will just buy the superior PC version over waiting for the PS4 version. Also the day it can technically come out on PS4, Watch Dogs 2 is out. May as well put it into 2017 at that point and launch with NX and a NX version as well.

Confirmed for not having played it. Once you get past the intro, Rise of the Tomb Raider is basically a 3D Metroidvania with some third-person shooting and stealth. It's so much more of a game than Uncharted 4 that there's essentially no comparisons between the two other than "people hunting for treasure and sometimes climbing on shit", and even the climbing in RotTR is more fluid though you don't spend 80% of the game doing it like you do in UC4.

If people start calling every game with cutscenes and set-pieces "movie games", they might as well just slap that label on the majority of AAA games being released today (which Sup Forums does anyway).

I'm pretty sure the Saturn version of Tomb Raider did came out. It's just that the PS version outsold it due to having more users.

I have it and started the beginning to see what it was like, but I haven't even played the first Tomb Raider yet so I uninstalled it. I mostly play weeb games so it'll be a while before I touch it. Apparently a GTX 970 can't run it at max settings. Though I guess max isn't necessary. It looks pretty though.

Saturn version of TR1 was out before the PS1 version. Eidos and Core had already negotiated the sequel to come out on Saturn and the third on Dreamcast while Nintendo would get a TR2 with exclusive content where some TR1 levels would be playable to help bridge the gap.

Then Sony pulled the exclusive moneyhat on it. Both Saturn and N64 versions got cancelled . But it's alright

Nobody seems to have actually played it so go ahead and refute me. It's kind of like Arkham Asylum or Witcher 2 where it's not quite open world but you travel through "open" maps and explore them thoroughly to find hidden shit while occasionally fighting enemies. You also find more equipment during the campaign that lets you explore previously unreachable areas, like you would in a metroidvania. The point is that anyone who calls it a "movie game" is a faggy generic Sup Forums dipshit who hasn't played the game and never will but wants to hate it because it's a big-budget western release.

PS4 needs based denuvo, you can't blame them for not wanting to port to a system full of rampant piracy.

Got it for free in a roll thread. Was surprised and enjoyed it as I hated TR 2013.

I already played on PC. But ps4 owners arent missing anything. Its a pretty game, but its such a shameless rip on the previous game in terms of art direction and levels I thought I was playing through some reused levels.

The shootouts are arguably worse because the enemies are often grouped either very close together and can be taken out with two quicj grenades or are far enough u can pick them off.

It isnt necessarily a bad game, but probably will be underwhelming for fans of the first one. If you never played TR 1.... then sure, Rise is a pretty and competent game so go for it.

It completely flopped on Xbone and PC, PS4 was it's only chance at sales but Uncharted 4 already exists and is the far superior game so they missed their window. If they released it now, it would likely not sell as well because of that game's existence. I'd imagine they'll never sign a timed exclusivity deal like that with MS again.

Saturn version of TR2 got cancelled because the Saturn was a piece of shit. The deal just formalised the acceptance that the Saturn was a piece of shit, and Segacucks had to wait five long years before they got another TR game at which point Lara's cunt had become very loose.
