Timberwolf is one of the best starting. I would not go for any mediums until you understand their role and how fragile/weaker off they are from everyone else. Lights are good too like the Arctic Cheetah. Recently just bought a Catapult and armed it with 4x LRM-10's and Artemis and just shit on everything infront of me

but if you buy. timberwolf you're a big target because everybody knows how powerful you are. Do you think clan mechs are better then IS mechs

Manly players who try to have an enjoyable game take SRMs and AC20s and go in for some brawling. That is literally the whole point of the game. LRMs should be removed so people could brawl freely

ppc's are alright, i like the idea in a close range mech that you have to be patient or try to find different ways to get ro the enemy. on the other hand lrms are bad only in my eyes when you spam it, it becomes annoying as shit, it's like artillery in world of tanks except its fuckin constant.

That's precisely the problem.
The game doesn't need more mechs.
It needs more actual substance to it's gameplay.

It needs less pinpoint alpha strike bullshit.

I'm trying to get back into mechwarrior, but every time I start it up I just feel the whole "free to play" essence oozing out of it.

I don't have a problem with them making money. I would have paid full price for this game.

I haven't played in ages, but when it was launched, it was completely fucking pointless chore fest that only an utter autist who gave a shit about a crappy starmap (that had zero actual influence in the game), would enjoy.

i think they should add. dueling mode, they should also make a 2v2 and 3v3 and 4v4 for the 1v1 it will be the same class of mech, for 2v2 it would be a light or a medium mech paired of with a heavy or an assault mech, for 3v3 it should be 1 light 1 medium and 1 assault, for 4v4 it should be 1 light, 1 medium, 1 heavy, and 1 assault. do you think thats a good idea?

Anything that would ad some variety to the game would be good at this point.

The only part that infuriates me is "Do you want to get the advanced skills? well you're going to have to get every single type of that mech, buy more mech hangers to support yourself JUST so you can beef out a mech of your choice.

I dunno, I like customizing my mech and selecting my weapon groups and trying to find a niche advantage for my mech.

And plus shooters in general don't have much "Depth". in essence it IS just point and shoot. I'd assume the "Depth" is from coordinating with a team. But I can see your want for more variety.

I certainly wouldn't complain if they did anyways.

I have been playing with a hunchback before the main release and saw I could convert my mech xp to gxp.

But of course the honor of doing that costs MC which costs actual money. Fuck this game some times.

You should invest in an AMS support mech with the super AMS module. You won't be doing as much damage as you could, but your team will love you.

Oh god I know. though you can actually win 80 free premium currency which will give you around 5k xp you can splurge on pilot skills.

So it's worth doing the event for that free chunk of xp conversion!

Google opinions on certain mechs. it's always good to float around on the forums and see what viable and whats not.

since it's very grindy you'll want to hold onto the cadet bonuses up to the very last one. then pick a few mech you like the look of and see if their any good.

No harm in taking ten minutes to look up a few builds so you don't waste all of those easy credits.

Love the AC as well. Lights are my preferred mech size because of their speed and maneuverability. I currently have the Raven 4x, 3L and Huggin (sold my 2x), all 3 Urbies, an AC, a Kit Fox, a Locust 1E (tried other variants but hated them) and an Oxide. I'm thinking about getting some spiders next.

Ooo I don't think the spiders very good. I think it has less tonnage than the artic too.

Then again that might be because on my first account i tried using a ballistic spider with MG's. god....that was....that was awful.

LargePulse with 4 Machine guns is actually devastating on one of the spiders. You just stick with your team and peck with the LPL until late in the match and then run in and finish wounded mechs off super fast by holding down fire on both your LPL and Machine guns. Those little bastards hurt more than you think they would.

Fuck man I wish I had some moola for some mech hangers. only gripe about this game is not being able to purchase them with in game money.

Might have to try and earn one in the faction war thing. though last time i tried it i was god awfull.
