Remember when Sony were pushing Sackboy to be their Mario?
This is the eventual fate of all modern games.

Remember when Sony bungled all of its classic IPs?
You can't expect them to keep the servers running, they're too expensive
It's not like there's 30 million people paying for them or anything
Eventually the servers all shut down
Eventually you will lose your skill at games
Times a bitch
>Shitty netcode
>Bad servers
>Game-breaking lag
Are you sure LBP3 also closes servers? It came out less than 2 years ago
yeah man 30 million people are paying for littlebigplanet servers
I spent hours in the creator but never completed a single level.
Yup, even LBP3
jp.playstation.com
Remove server-based games
Remove online multiplayer
Remove subscription services
A lot of current gen games will be practically useless when the servers go down
Protip: just merge servers so the same server handles LBP, and 5 other shit old IPs from Sorny, etc.
is this your punishment for all the devils third shitposting?
Given that LBP is about on the level as Devil's Third maybe
I hope this is just a trend thing with only online and that games focus more on offline again.
Only few developers like Blizzard can allow online only.
Guess we will have to wait for the remastered editions :^)
>Remove online multiplayer
Que
I only played the original LBP
It was so much fun
Can someone confirm this?
This kills the crab...
Fuck it makes me sad if true.
>can no longer get online trophies
welp
lel, whos even playing lbp3?
SHUT IT ALL DOWN
LBP3 is pretty much the combination of all the games plus more.
Wait til they disallow PS3 connections to PSN
They should at least be considerate and make all levels copyable for a month, so you can hoard them all on your moon for offline usage. People who have actually played LBP will know what I mean. Most creators set their levels to be uncopyable (for good reason) but when this happens the devs should just unlock every level to be copied.

>tfw every online game will die one day
youtube.com
Warcraft and counter strike have kept pretty alive.
It's arguable that WoW has already died, just not in the traditional sense.
It's on the playstation site, it's confirmed
lmao how can sonycucks defend this?
I loved this game so much because of its plethora of creativity. Specifically logic and gadgets. Any other creative games that offer this?

this literally doesnt apply to anything north america related. fucking shit thread, kill yourself OP.
They'll ignore it
Was the game even popular in Japan?
I'm pretty sure more people are waiting for a sunset/"important" announcement from Blizzard than more new content.
Maybe not popular but there were some damn good japanese creators.
kys
>tfw you have microchips inside microchips inside sequencers inside microchips
I made a top-down arena shooter with HP, upgrades, usable items, random spawns and 3 different maps before I stopped playing. I wonder how it's doing.
the 2nd one is breddy gud and you can make more complicated stuff
dont even consider getting the 3rd one
I once made a homing missile that knew where the target is from where it isn't and where it isn't from where it is.
>tfw was gonna buy a ps4 for LBP3 and Odin Sphere
phew, dodged a bullet. guess I'll emulate the PS2 version of odin sphere
IT ALL, RETURNS, TO NOTHING
This was the first game I owned on my Nogamestation 3. It was pretty cool.
IT ALL COMES TUMBLING DOWN, TUMBLING DOWN, TUMBLING DOWN
>we have this fun platformer (for some people) with an awesome editor where you can make anything with enough practice (just guessing never tried myself)
>nevermind shutting down servers no fun allowed
thats why you dont buy games after a few years of release
Murikan servers are still up, Gosling. And PS2 Odin Sphere is shit gameplay
>japan
okay, who cares. Japan never liked the series anyway. The entire asian region was like less than ~3% of LBP1 and 2 sales combined.
>pay 5 quid a month
>dont get dedicated servers
>games online gets blocked to make room for other games
Fuck Sony
Fuck man, i'm gonna miss it.
It's ashame as it's was a fun game
Online ruined it for me.
Unlike Mario Maker, LBP had no rules for preventing spam levels or any auto-deletion to prevent others from reposting the same levels flooding the servers.
Red Dead Redemption's online was pretty fun too until servers were changed to cheap ones full of loud spics and loading as slow as a Snail's ass.
It will happen to all games eventually sadly. I'm having fun with Overwatch and Splatoon, games that are online multiplayer only but one day the online servers will shut down. Ya just gotta move on until someone can possibly emulate these games in the future and hopefully make fan-made servers.
Game companies stop caring the moment one of their properties don't give them the cash they need or if they'd rather put resources to a newer IP. Just the way it is unfortunatly.
The copy feature ruined the game
Damn
So this is probably the end of the IP
I'm going to miss it
>''''''''''good guy'''''''''' sony
>last splatfest soon
hold me
what? when? it's been months since I played anything on the WiiU
Its only in Japan and its for all the LittleBigPlanet games even the Karting one. Im sure the main series will stay online in America until they shut the PS3 servers down all together.
Doesn't seem like there's much of a future for LBP or any online PS4 game in any region if this is the precedent they're setting.
There's no future for any multiplayer anything game. Multiplayer games die. If it upsets you, only play single player games like me
Ross Scott (Freeman's Mind guy) has been really up on this stuff lately. Talking about games that are getting killed and shut down.
youtube.com
It's really kind of depressing to think about.
LBP3 fucking sucked. It's a disgrace to 1 and 2
>The servers will die
Only if it relies on some company's server, you can still play Doom multiplayer to this day.
Just stop supporting this "games as a service" bullshit and you won't have to worry about it.
I never got to play it.
Even if I got it now it wouldn't be the full product.
>Zipper was told to make something new for the Vita and Unit 13 ended up being garbage
>They get shut down
>SOCOM servers go offline
>There was never a SOCOM on the Vita or PS4
Never played it, but why is it considered bad? Did it remove features?
>Demon's Souls and PS3 Dark Souls games will have their servers shut down one day
I knew the PS4 version was $9.99 on Amazon for a reason...
It offered a bit more in creativity, but it had so much potential. It just became the same as 2. What russled me about 3 was no multiple profile options and dull story.
Is it possible to share levels online, upload to PS3 via USB or something?
It would be shame if all that disappeared.
Don't even get me started on what sony did to fucking Zipper. MAG was my favorite game and it took 2 years for them to fix everything and it took that long because they made them make the game playable with the Move, same with Socom 4. Fuck Sony for everything that happened to Zipper
Its only in Japan all the games still work in America and will for some time
>and will for some time
How long tho?
Man I miss the original socom and socom 2 multi. I had some late nights and good times with friends playing those games.
Wasn't that extended psn outage right around the time socom 4 came out?
>tfw ive been playing it all the past week due to having nothing else to do while being a shut in
at least theres gonna be that dreams game coming out though r-right
That would be a great way to avoid losing the millions of community levels, but all you can do now is back them up to your system, and then I guess you could put in on a USB stick from there.
Yes and then the game came out and was broken for like 2 months because with the outage they couldn't fix any of the bugs from the beta so it was pretty much released with the online still in beta and it was terrible. Then they made it work with the move witch completely killed the game.
Zipper made some of my all time favorite games. Sucks they got fucked over so badly.
I have no idea but if they shut down the servers of a game they have to announce it 6 months before they actually shut down. (At least thats what they did with the ps3 games the shut down) This announcement was for the Japanese servers, not the NA servers
And LittleBigPlanet is the kinda series I think they would keep up over other games so when they really start announcing other games shutting down in waves then I would guess around then. But if I had to guess I would say probably a few more years.
Looks like it's just Japan. LBP Karting and LBP Portable are shutting down in the West, but so far no mention of 1, 2 or 3.
playstation.com
playstation.com
it was a shitty rip-off Mario Maker anyway
What i meant was that you can play any created level from 1&2 on 3 plus it adds way more layers. If you wanted to just play created levels so would say LBP3 is the way to go if the loading times were better.
Demon's Souls already had their severs shut down IIRC
>Eventually you will lose your skill at games
Jokes on you, I'm terrible at every game I play
...
>just bought LBP3 from sale
Welp
This.
Why did those games have such awful jump physics? It felt like the devs had only heard of what a 2D platformer was through distant and vague whispers and tried to construct something they heard of as "move-ment" through a series of dumb guesses.
>make new IP
>milk 5 games in 6 years
>drop IP
