Why West has no love for dark and grim Slavic ascetics and force developers to rape lore of their games?

Why does Witcher 1 look better than Witcher 3?
Different courtyards, though.
wow I want to visit this castle... too bad my computer cant run this game
I really wish the lighting at Kaer Morhen was different, it feels too bright, so the shadows are too dark and sharp. If it's ever daytime I always meditate until its darker.
Witcher 3 has grim areas, I don't know why you'd insinuate it doesn't. Pretty much all of Velen is as grim as it gets.
Please tell me more about how the whole of Witcher 1 was dark and grim, OP. Maybe you would care to tell me how dismal all the music was?
>Pretty much all of Velen is as grim as it gets.
nope nigga
in neofags when saw Velen screenshots liked how colorful they were
>Implying that colour pallette and pathetic fallacy makes up 100% of the atmosphere of the place
>2016
shiggy-diggy
you know "grim" doesn't just mean "devoid of color", right?
> grim Slavic ascetics
read op post
...
right I should've added that I don't think the witcher is grim, quite the opposite it makes me feel super comfy in almost every area for some reason but just because a game has vibrant colors doesn't mean it can't have a grim atmosphere
From the battlefields to the swamps to the wrecked out little towns Velen might not be grey on grey constantly but it paints a pretty somber picture regardless of whether. It's not like the game doesn't get cloudy and rain fucking constantly in Velen.
If you'd read the books you'd know that Toussaint was portrayed exactly that way in them.
HOL UP
You can use shields?
This wat
>people on v are actually fucking crying that a game isnt using enough brown and bloom filters to make their games edgy and dark
have we gone full circle
It's a prop you have to hold in a side-quest. I won't get into the details, but you just hold the shield, and then it disappears from your inventory once the quest is completed.
OP probably used a console command to spawn it. As far as I know, you can't use it in combat.
Complaining makes you seem like you are very sophisticated, since you have a high-level taste that requires an extra touch from the developers. To keep up this aura of sophistication, you have to always find something to complain about. After all, nothing is good enough for someone as intelligent as you.
So, you have to always find something to complain about.
