I JUST LEARNED I CAN MAKE ARTIFICAL ISLANDS HOLY FUCK

can't get planters to place on it though

>installed on ssd
>still lags

Oh really, how?

It will be good once pop-in is fixed and it properly supports VR.

Hey where did you guys build your base? Im fairly fresh and I just built it next to my crash pod, but its not really /comfyyetcreepy/ at night...

Terraformer above land.

terraformer doesn't apply physics lmao

I just realised how vague that was.

You want to use the Terraformer to pillar up above land, then cut off the "ladder" you made.

DEEP. But it's good to build a base in the shallows at first before your pod drifts away

>before your pod drifts away
??? pls no

>tool bar is fucked and the only way I can equip stuff is if I drop it and pick it up
>sound gets distorted (sounds as if it has artifacts but in sound form) and sounds awful
How do I fix this shit? The former is seriously holding back the fun I could be having

The ones I've built were at the edge of the shallows and kelp forest. There is a drop off to the forest that looks nice from the cliff. I like building in the kelp itself but the stalkers get really annoying

apparently help will arrive in 9 hours

is this a ruse

dont tell me if its spoilers

Takes a few days but It'll start to drift. After a few weeks it'll be long gone. It's good to be a fabricator ASAP You could always trap it in place

That's 9999 hours user

>tfw you make a window in your base and just look at shit happening while drinking coffee early in the morning

It was a ruse

You could always fix the pod so it doesn't drift away.

jesuschristhowhorrifying

I've been fucking around for a while now too, guess ill equip my base asap.

Fixing the pod turns on the gravity anchor, it doesn't drift anymore after that

I wonder if anything happens if you wait 416 ingame days

Is the exosuit in the main game yet?

I fixed mine and it still drifted

I had one of those fucking spore things spawn right under the pod so it kept getting damaged. Never bothered to fully fix it

Fixed mine about an hour or so in, now five hours in and it hasn't budged an inch. Maybe it's glitchy?

Do not all small wrecks have crates or am I somehow missing them?

this game seems like a lot of fun, but I've got a fear of deep ocean stuff, how often do you have to go out at night/go into the real deep?

Not often enough. There is little to do below 600m.

Later on you'll have to, early you can just stay at night in the pod or in your base.

Not very often. Unfortunately there's no sleep mechanic to just skip night. Terror aside it's fucking hard to see anything.

>finally have enough materials to build my base, about to expand it
>two of those fucking gassy seacows spawn above my base
>my building attempts are a mix of these fucking farty noises and my character coughing
As soon as my Seamoth has the bug zapper, those fucks are going down.

you get used to it after a while. I still haven't seen a lot of the creatures or biomes yet though. As it is in real life, the deeper you go the less there is so you won't have to spend too much time there

>he thinks SSD effects performance in games

Literally the only thing it can do is speed up texture streaming on a negligable level.

The only thing it vastly improves is load times.

About to build my first sea moth! How many O2 tanks do you guys recommend carrying with you? I have 4, one equipped and 3 in inventory, all high capacity. I use the seaglide a lot and thankfully I found the battery charger.

Get a rebreather on top of that and you should be good.

>game with tons of world streaming
>implying data speed doesnt have a significant impact
It is markedly worse on a hard drive and you are a huge faggot who ignores context.

In this case it's different, since the game's terraforming Voxel fuckery noticably decreases lag when installed on an SSD.

I normally just carry around two high capacity O2 tanks, the Seaglide and a powercell or two for the Seamoth (unless it has the solar panel upgrade).

Nigga how can you carry anything. I have one less tank than you and use the seaglide sparsely to not carry lots of spare batteries and my shit fills up way too fast.

>Built base too close to two manatees constantly deciding it'd be fun to crap on the left wing of the base and constantly cause leaks
I hate these fuckers. The first half of my base building was keeping that wing sealed off with a bulkhead then repairing it after a bit only to have it leaking again the next day.

>recommended
2 or 3. I personally use 3 at all times. Even better when you get a rebreather and harden them into extra capacity tanks. You can stay down for a very long time and get whatever you need. 2 high cap tanks is probably about all you need, I just like the overkill of 3 since I basically can't run out of air unless I completely ignore it for an hour.

I think I may decide on the purchase of this game via a coin flip. Because I'm just not sure. I'd be fine with meaningful content and cursory survival. But this seems to be pushing more spookshit by many accounts. And if I buy it and I see that happening I'll probably end up as the first Youtuber serial killer.

cool blog

user,

It's not 416 days.

It's 4166 days.

Yeah I got one and I can stay down super long,
I do fill up quick which sucks, i just hate having to go back up 140 meters for air often. Thankfully the seaglide doesn't take energy when you just go up and can gain some from the flippers

I fixed mine and it drifts sometimes but it always ends up "resetting" to its original spot.

No idea why it does that.

you can push it around with the current generators

Is there a console command to display current coordinates? I would love to know where the fuck I am within this biome.

Can my laptop run this game?

>Make a b-line for the floating island when I first started
>That vast amount of nothing

I imagine this is what getting lost at sea feels like

You can make pipes for pretty cheap that brings down O2 as far as you make it.

yes

Where do I find Lithium? Negroes. I was told it was near the Aura but I found nothing and my Seamoth was destroyed by a Reaper. Seaglide saved my life.

Mushroom Forest

Seeing you fags talk about this game is making me want to get it. Fucking love ocean shit, but don't know how I feel about how sci-if it is.
Is this shit good? Should I get it?

My favourite biome is the one with the threadly reminder in it

Mushroom forest is a good bet. I've seen some around the koosh zone too I think.

Near the bow the the aurora there's a mountain with a shit ton of lithium on it. Not directly near the bow, but near that direction. If you stay on the surface you'll see in on the distance when you get close. There is a reaper at like 200/250 meters deep, but at long as you don't under its aggro zone you'll be good

Mushroom forest, the two reefs I believe, I think there's some in the koosh biome as well.
If you get to the part under the Aurora where the reaper is there's a good bunch of lithium on the huge slope leading towards the Aurora.

I have no idea. Maybe run verify through steam?

thanks lads.

>sandy hook
>sandy
>hook
his post actually makes sense when you look at it that way. sandy hook could very well be
a place under the sea for fish to go to school.
>schools of fish
it has so many layers

The dev that posted that is clearly a sea monster, trying to get humanity to get rid of their guns

I can absolutely confirm the sound bug can be fixed by uninstalling your realtek driver and then restarting windows.

Windows will autmoatically re-install the driver and it fixes the issue. I have no idea why it works but it does.

Shoot yourself.

But adding spears to hunt the bigger fish would be fine

slashing niggas down with a tiny ass knife is just tedious; also this game has a rifle

sas

Sorry, can't. No guns in the game.

post moths

when I fully upgrade it I will rename it Scooty-Puff Sr.

It's still early access, so its a good sandbox game and pretty good on the graphics side. Since the summer sale is going on you can pick it up for $15.

Worse case you hate it and are out $15 right now.

you- you're in the game?

Nobody cares. Anybody who bought the game already bought it, and no one who is pretending they won't buy the game because of this was ever actually gonna buy it anyway. Nobody cares.

>finally build cyclops
>builds on top of my base and gets stuck while flooding it
epic desu

What's the easiest way to get around Stalkers?

does hull strength matter

i built on foundations and wanna have everything glass but its approachin 0

that satisfying *thwack* sound when you run into fish with the sea moth

HE'S A FUCKING MESMER!
ABANDON THREAD!
GO! GO! GO! GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!

- # hull strength = flooded base

Is a tank of fish an effective sole food source? Chasing peepers is annoying and I have a couple reginalds laying around. Finally got my seamoth so its time to make my base more than a storage locker.

RUN

If you go under 0, breaches will form, and your base will be flooded.

>make a waterproof "chest" early on
>thought it would work perfectly well in the pod
>drop it inside
>turns out it was so heavy my pod got balanced out and started gaining water

What the fug

Just went something that would stand out other than the normal white.

>4 tanks
what the fuck
How can you carry anything? I have one tank equipped and SOMETIMES I carry an extra tank. Just drive the seamoth around and hop out to grab shit. You have over a minute of air with just one high cap tank. You can easily grab a bunch of stuff and then head back to the moth to reposition and refill air

I started building a base on the other side of the creepvine forest from the escape pod.
Is that a good location or could I do better?

ah alright thanks

first one seemed to fix itself upon restarting the game (though it only fixed itself on the third startup)
This game is really buggy.

>make a couple of them
>they disappear and now I lost resources

With my new moth I ditched two of the tanks, it's so nice now having more space
I was thinking about making a tank of peepers too, until I can find stuff to make like interior grow bes

Yeah stick two peepers in a large tank and you'll have food forever. Throw a couple airsacks in as well and you'll have water. Although, collecting salt is better for water.

Now a simple man would think that dev is anti-gun and he would be correct in a certain way, but the truth is dev is fanatically pro-violence. He disdains the quick death a gun bestows upon its victim. Dev wants you to fry creatures alive with electricity, watch them dissolve after being enguled in corrosive gas, crush them repeatedly with machines and slash them thousands of times your knife. You know who also slashed things a thousand times until they died? The chinese did. It's how they executed people who really pissed them off. Dev wants death to be slow. He wants it to be painful. He is a sadistic, vicious bastard hiding behind a thin veneer of false concern.

Wait until you get a cyclops. You can build lockers inside it. With an indoor growbed and ezmode fruit. You can last literally forever inside it.

You could just put the storage module on your seamoth, then you'll have room for more tanks.

So my Cyclops has a crush depth of 900 but my seamoth has one of 500. When I go past 500 I hear the seamoth robot lady voice warn me. Will that cause any actual damage if it's docked though?

Also why is the cyclops voice so scary?

Seamoth is fine if it's docked but get that shit upgraded nigger
Cyclops voice is cool as fuck

>Also why is the cyclops voice so scary?
I think you mean sexy

You just don't need that many. There's no point when you've got a fast vehicle nearby that refills your air.

I just have to find the rest of those modification fragments so I can get it! Having this seamoth has already improved my life 10fold

So looking around I found that the devs for this game are trying to get an August release? Based on the content that's out now, what percent are they done? Here's their supposed roadmap that I found: trello.com/b/KbugnSRJ/subnautica-roadmap

Funny post, but in actuality he just thinks guns are too simple and will make the game lack any tension and discourages creativity.

I 100% agree and wish these muh gun faggots would fuck off.

Protip: you can put more than one storage module on the seamoth. Not sure if you can do more than two

Can you have multiple storage-room upgrades on your seamoth?

>>>/VG/

op what is this biome? i need to build a base there
