I've literally gone a year without having to charge one of these. How the fuck does this thing have so much battery life and why can't sony/microsoft do this?

more importantly why cant the actual gamepad do this... i have to charge it every 5 hours

Well for one, there's a giant fucking screen on it that you cannot disable.

Sony wasted battery space on a light, touchpad, and speaker

DS4 has that touch pad that eats up battery life. It also has a speaker and that light bar, but those eat nothing compared to that touch pad.
