first bump for best sidekick

second bump for best location

It's just AC4 in a new setting, the controls and gameplay in general is still garbage.
Man, I used to think AC4 was good, but after playing games like MGSV and seeing what true smooth controls are, AC4 is now near unplayable to me.

r u fo shizzle ?

I'd like to buy it but in deals it only gets bundles with ac4 which i already own.

Got this on the steam sale too. Like a budget version of AC4. Where the hell is this supposed to be taking place though? New England? The geography is all fucked.

>best location

No.
The artic setting is comfy as fuck, but the old European cities will always be the most fun for parkour in AC games.

>the old Oriental cities will always be the most fun for parkour in AC games.

>masterpiece
>assassins creed
Gtfo

Different parts of North America.

Because in previous AC's the streets were much narrower, buildings were closer, and it made sense to get up in the buildings and run around the rooftops.
Now everything is spread and there's almost no point in doing anything but sprinting.

on sale rite now
might think about it, thanks

What Assassin's Creed game would that be?
And don't say that 2.5 Chronicles shit.

this too

If you need explanation to any of those posts you might have reading comprehension issues.

I felt the story was a bit short. It had enough content but it was mostly optional. ACIV is still better in my opinion.

I was even going to buy it today.

>he never played AC Revelations
do yourself a favor pls, get out and don't come back until you have finished this game
it's an almost unknown very good game
old Ezio is best Ezio

game is ruined for the sole reason that it's part of this uninspired franchise where the settings function as wallpaper for their tepid gameplay

The original AC game...
Also AC2:R took place in Istanbul.

Old Ezio is actually pretty fucking great, and I don't even like Ezio.

But that's also half European city.

Original was fun, but AC2 was a big improvement imo, and not just for the missions, but also parkour.

You're aware that the largest / most important part of the city is on the European side and not on the Asian side, right?

But you're right, very underrated game.

This thread is now rated EC for extreme comfiness.

ACR would have been much better without the orange tint.

>uninspired franchise
>tepid gameplay
how so?

If it's underappreciated, it's only because it was underplayed since everyone had just traded in their PS360s for PS4/XB1 and got burned by Unity instead.

Didn't help that it was basically reused assets: the game either, though it still turned out to be the superior title.

This. When it came out people probably got the impression that it was just some sort of standalone DLC for ACIV with worse graphics. AC Unity still to this day isn't specifically optimized and it isn't just fun the same way.

this
Unity is a steaming pile of shite in every regard, Rogue is far better
on a similar note I would glad to play more templar sided AC games in the future
they could use the same formula of two titles a year, one for the assassin point of view and the other one from the templar one
this will never happen tho but an user can dream ;_;

>tfw no based templars superior stories
let's face it, the Assassin's are a bunch of sandniggers/pastaniggers terrorists led by a slack philosophy, that nigga Achilles the city-bomber by proxy is the worst of the lot and Haytham Kenway did nothing wrong save fucking that indian slut and thus giving birth to that filthy double race traitor

>that filthy double race traitor
truer words were never spoken

Nothing is true.

TOP LATL (loving all the laughs)

The story was way, way too short. I spent more time hunting down all the relic treasures like Altair's swords and the Viking armor, and then once you have them, there's nothing to with them. Also, I was hoping there'd be more renovations to do in New York instead of just a few scattered buildings.

That constant dust filter on the screen drove me up the fucking wall

Did they change things up and make the gameplay good for this one? Or is it the same as the others and you just like the setting?

Assassins creed development in a nutshell
>one year after last game
>copy
>paste
>paint job
>Assassins Creed N+1

I disagree. What they do is start a new game and halfway through development, release it. Before testing, before even finishing it properly. They just cut parts that aren't well done.

AC Unity and Syndicate are quite different, both are quite shitty, buggy and unoptimized, but I wouldn't call them copy paste jobs at all. Just products of rushed development.

And the last one also a product of political propaganda. They just had to push it quick enough.

Still playing this beast of a game. Fuck ubisoft and fuck unity for ruining this once great franchise.

Problem with this game is that it's twice the price of ACIV with half the content.

This is what AC3 should have been.

>uninspired
You don't know what that means apparently.
They use a different setting each game. They give you a bunch of abilities and let you go crazy. it all depends how you play the game that determines if the game-play is bad. If you try to run through even thing your going to make mistakes and then blame the game when you dont go in a window and you loose momentum.

It has the sailing gameplay from AC IV

I didnt have any glitch or bugs with unity or syndicate and i bought them day one.

rushed story that could have been the best AC yet.

they really didn't flesh out the back and forth between sides and how people were assholes for no reason other than they had to be.

then, oops, guess you were right at the end.

see

Yeah, I also have a pig station on my kitchen and my wife is a trillionaire I just don't say it out loud

lucky you. too bad mines is more relevant then your shit posting.

this a hundred times

it's on sale right now, some ten dollars if I remember correctly
this is what enrages me the most about the Assassin's Creed franchise, when they try too hard they fail hars as well
AC3 is a clusterfuck of a story, a game with an enormous potential wasted in the confusion of the plot, both present and past time, with an unlikable main charachter whose reasons are too often obscure to the player

So, is it better than AC IV? If only AC IV didn't have so many tailing missions, it would've been the best one for me.

did somebody noticed the similarities between AC Rogue and Far Cry 3?
both from the same studio (Ubisoft Montreal), open world with high points to synchronize, some mechanic of hunting pretty similar (even the animal's icons on the map are exactly the same), and many more examples if you look
they made a lot of cross-references and easter eggs in both games too

Has this been released on pc because the console resolution wasn't nearly this high

pic related Far Cry 3 in AC Rogue

yup
the pc version is as usual far better than the consoles one

mmmh...it really makes you think

guys guys guys guys guys

bump for Templar Rule

>we will never get a proper sailing pirate game
So fucking sad, the best games of that type have to include shitty assassin's creed garbage

Maybe when VR gets bigger we'll get it, since you don't really walk around when you pilot a ship.

so it's the exact same garbage ok thanks

sounds like you don't know what uninspired is. putting out the same shallow dogshit sandbox gameplay with a new coat of paint every year is the definition of uninspired. don't know why you think mentioning freerun momentum has any relevance to that observation

>le you can't walk around in vr meme

why do you niggers think vr controllers with thumbsticks don't exist?

What I actually want is an ACIV with fleshed out exploration and sailing, without the garbage combat or the whole assassin thing. I do find really relaxing to collect shit or explore around different places in that game, I just dislike the combat and the chasing and the whole easy as piss stealth. I want to be a pirate and rape villages and plunder women

Which was better Rouge or Syndicate?

>Is way angrier and less fun than he ever was in 3.
>His best moment in the entire game was shouting at Adewale.
Haytham in AC:R was such a disappointment compared to 3, especially since he was such a charismatic guy in 3 but in AC:R he's extremely serious despite taking place at the same time as the start of AC3.

Yeah but thumbsticks would take you out of it desu

Just give me a wheel controller and make me not able to walk around

I didn't hate Revelations, but the game was just janky IMO. The tower defense sections were the absolute worst.

Is haytham god?

It's basically Black Flag without all the tutorial nonsense

Why didn't this person just use one of the many full-sized images of Farcry 3 lying around?

Rogue by a longshot.

Syndicate:
-Doesn't have sailing, just a big river thames
-Doesn't have a decent story, it's just powerful woman with "oh stupid brother messing it all up for me" and some pretty irrelevant villain taken out of a fucking cartoon
-Hardly any historical accuracy
-The extra muh suffrage chapter has a copy pasted model of the main female lead with just a different haircut
-You can basically kill people in the middle of a street and almost no one will give a shit

The only good aspect is the music. I did like the music. Rogue is far better, if a little bit too short. It'll make you want more, you won't quit halfway.

Is AC 3 really bad?

I loved Rogue and IV, but I kinda dig the story there as well.

Can we all Agree that AC:2,Brotherhood,IV and Rogue were the only decent AC games?

Yes. The only reason to play it is for basically the conclusion of the Desmond Miles storyline, if you're interested in any of the modern day shit.

>Unity is a steaming pile of shite in every regard
Unity as a game only fails at the story and the main characters though. The general gameplay is by far the best and most improved of the series even if they stumble a bit by making the co-op stuff like Disguise usable in normal gameplay. It's basically the highest point of on-foot combat where climbing things is now a breeze and gives you more control over how it works, it places huge emphasis on stealth to the point that taking on more than 6+ enemies is essentially suicide, and it gives you way more choices on how you want to take things compared to the other games thanks to the cover system. Let's not forget the huge amount of armor customization the game has.

Yes, it's about as buggy as AC3 is even after all the patches, and yes, Arno is equal to Aveline in how much I you end up not caring at all about him, but calling the entire thing complete and utter garbage is lying, especially if you've played each game. Just because you're pissed off that they stopped with sailing combat(Which wouldn't really make sense at that point anyway) doesn't mean the entire gameplay is bad.

Syndicate is fun. The SJW shit is annoying but mechanically and from a variety standpoint, it's probably one of the better entries.

Legitimately kek'd at that pic you posted OPEE.

Oh ok. I really didn't like the modern day stuff. To me it seems they actually tried with the story in Rogue. It was the only AC I remember where I liked the ending a bit.

No, Unity is fucking shit. Absolute fucking shit. Not only is the story garbage, the changes they made to the Freerun system are well-intentioned but rarely work right. I cannot count the number of times Arno just ignores commands and hangs there like a fucking idiot until you wiggle the stick to make him climb or descend. You are straight-up unable to do certain actions if the game doesn't want you to do them.

God i miss the good days of AC so fucking much.I just want a new game with a decent fucking setting and a good fucking story. The story literally never progressed after AC3. And god do i miss the the multiplayer.

tfw you will NEVER EVER enjoy the old cities of renaissance italy and parkour through the streets of venice inn night as classical musics plays in the background again

>1,4 GHz Intel Core i5
>8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
>Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

will my pc be able to play Syndicate?
I don't give a shit about fancy gimmicks, I only want to play the game, even at the minum settings

That's just same Ubisoft formula. I think even Crew required you to drive to high points to unlock maps.

Can we all agree that AC2 Venice is the best city EVER portayed in any videogame?

*portRayed

The best parts of AC3 are:
Haytham's section at the start.
The section where you team up with Haytham.
Every single naval mission, especially since AC4 and ACR made them have less impact when it came to actual fighting. Heaters and ROGUE WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVES were amazing in AC3 but in AC4 it was just another normal thing that didn't really matter much or feel any different.
Homestead missions.

The main story is awful, Connor is pretty much unlikable during the entire game and just trusts Achilles without ever questioning why he has to kill the Templars at all. He's way better in the supplemental material, but in-game he's pretty unlikable or you just don't feel his plight, especially after how he acts and some of the choices he makes.

I have literally never had a problem with climbing anything outside of one time where two walls were connecting in a 90 degree angle kind of way and wanted to grab onto the other side but it wouldn't let me like it would in the other games. Outside of that it's way faster, you have way more freedom of running around in general and can go from the top of a building to the bottom of one in two seconds or less thanks to the fancy animations of Arno spinning his way down.

Even so, let's say I agree with you that free running has some problems and we already agree that the story and characters are garbage, that doesn't negate the fact everything about the general gameplay is improved tremendously thanks to the cover system, huge reliance and push towards actually assassinating enemies without being seen, and requiring much more skill to actually survive due to how rare items are to get on top of enemies actually being threats.

If you said Venice and Yharnam i would agree.

When will we finally get Russia and Japan that is not 2.5D faggot shit?
Fuck.

Also, AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations cannot be considered separate entries, they are basically one game and meanwhile they form the best entry of the series.

EZIO > ALL
deal with it or kys

and by a long shot too

What went wrong?

Yeah, we can agree to disagree on Unity. Personally I feel like Syndicate improved on all the changes they made in Unity. Combat is snappier, the new Freerun system is improved, the grappling gun makes traversing the city easier, and the stealth system along with the new threat / visibility meters make it actually fun to play.

...

Le Progressive Ubisoft is making the next game on egypt which there is literally nothing else besides the pyramemes. And it is going to be shit.Wait for 2018

Still doesn't look as good as ACIV for some reason, even on PC.

I think you forgot to mention how Syndicate's combat is shit because you hit every NPC literally 50 times with choppy keyframe faggot animations. I don't want to say AC2's animation are FFXV levels but they looked natural.

Evie and Jakob look like spastics when fighting no kidding.
Still platinumed Syndicate

...

It wasn't a flagship title so they didn't spend as much time on it. I'm pretty sure they removed all the Nvidia Gameborks shit from AC4 as well.

Wrong thread mate. But this is the atmoshpere syndicate should have went with.Besides the lovecraftian and paranormal stuff though.

It doesn't change the fact the core of the game is garbage. Combat is boring and repetitive, while it's flashy they're is little depth. The freerunning is garbage too, too many times you miss easy jumps because of the fucked up animation system.

That's because Rogue was on the base AC3 engine while AC4 had a bunch of tweaks to the AC3 engine to make it look much prettier. Rogue was a 'budget' title released quietly alongside Unity.

AC3 had so many useless stuff. Such a shame you never actually had to hunt or anything. It's basically AC: Offline MMO.

If ubisoft sold the AC IP which studio would you want to bought it?
