Witcher 3 is a cinematic movie game with 15+ horus of story driven cinematic cutscenes and the gameplay is literal fetch and trail quests galore.
The combat mechanic is technically broken and dog shit, the environment is the only half-good thing about this game.
Ultimately Witcher 3 is a cinematic game with shit gameplay. I'd just prefer if the fans were able to admit they are casual and like to play casual shit game, that's all I ask. No back peddling, no half-ironic meme response, just admit you like to play casual shit.

Well, I played 120 hours and I'm still half BaW so I guess 15 hours of cutscenes and 105+ of gameplay its pretty good for a "movie game"

There's a succubus in Skellige and one in Novigrad
Get Axii if you like using it in dialogues. It gets you alot of value that way.
HoS is recommended to start at any point beyond lvl 30 but before you finish the main game.
After completing the main game quest you do B&W since you get all the dialogue and events in the dlc that way.

About ten hours in, and while I wouldn't be as harsh, I kinda agree.
Game itself is uninteresting I find. Neither combat nor exploration feel particularly interesting. Mechanically unsound. What's left is the narrative and its supporting interactions which aren't bad, but not good enough to justify wading through a game I don't enjoy.
Personally I say make sure to put a good deal of points into fast attack and quen. The rest is up to whatever you feel like you use the most

You CAN start with 1, just expect a lot of old game clunkiness. 2 has a really good story but a few new gameplay things they tried which didn't really work, 3 is when everything comes together to be almost perfect.

1 is great casuals just dont have the patience to figure out the combat
it basically lacks a any form of queue which makes it EXTREMELY clunky and people used to common action rpgs refuse to figure that out, but its not as bad as they claim, in fact high tier human sword styles are very satisfying
You can skip Witcher 1 and 2, but you won't get the 100s of references in Witcher 3. Also reading witcher books helps

I'll never forget the day Sup Forums talked me into buying the Enhanced Edition of the first Witcher game. What a fucking heap. I don't even remember what I paid for it but I can tell you it was completely wasted. What I saw of the story was cliche and boring and the game straight up looked like ass even by the standards at the time. I will admit though that I didn't get too far into it because of the absolutely atrocious, clunky, counter intuitive combat system that fought me every step of the way. It's still to this day the worst gameplay I have every experienced and I've played some pretty shitty games. And don;t even start with how it gets good 20 hours in or how I should have to "git gud" with the shitty controls. If it's a shit game from the begining there's no way in hell it'll stop being a shit game by the end. And I'm proud to say I haven't touched a Witcher game, or even a CDPR game that I know of, since. Fuck the Witcher and fuck you Sup Forums I hate this place so much but I can never leave.

I hated it too and quitted after 2 hours. Recently i read the books and gave it a second chance. Now i have played it for 40+ hours and loving it. It really gets better during Act III and i got used to the combat after few hours.

In my opinion, the oils should have had infinite charges from the get go. What are you gonna do in the middle of a fight when your oil runs out? Not go into the menu and re-apply the appropriate oil? Why not just cut out the whole "opening the menu, waiting for everything to load, clock on oil" step?
