Will it be all style and no substance?
Will it be all style and no substance?

sporebound
Procedurally generated style with procedurally generated absence of substance.
you can tell if you just watch one dev interview. the guy has this stupid smile on his face the entire time and he never actually says what kind of game he's trying to make or what his motivations are. It's such a stupid idea for a game. It's going to be a massive, boring tech demo with randomized monsters with boring behaviors (stupid AI). and NO MULTIPLAYER? what is the fucking point? there's no narrative. it's just uninspired. will it look cool? yeah. that's all it will do. the "exploration" will get old after the third gay planet. if they put some actual multiplayer in it would be cool, but as it is it's going to be lame
First day pirate
It will be best game ever
You won't need to buy any other game anymore
And when we invent immortality you can have fun until heat death of universe
In MY game there are... 18 quintillion planets.
>Ss there any multiplayer?
Thats not the point of the game. Have I told you... there are 18 QUINTILLION PLANETS IN MY GAME?
It'll be fine for me because I honestly just want to cruise around and find shit.
It's not going to be a lot of people's cup of tea though, and people are going to be like.
>Worse than Mighty No. 9
>Sonnyggers BTFO
>Blunder of the century
>Video games are dead
etc.
>A year has passed
>I still have no idea what you're supposed to do in this game besides fly around
I could just get SpaceEngine instead
I enjoy games like truck simulator and I actually liked the space age of Spire so I will probably like this too.
What? No! It's the game of the decade!
I am the, uhm, friend of the creator, and he told me that you can land in a planet with a randomly generated advanced civilization, and if they invented computers, you can spend the rest of your life playing their randomly generated games!
The reasons they haven't told you if there's a story or something to do yet is because every time you boot up the game it randomly generates a new cinematic questline!
What are you saying user? That random generation makes all the planets feel the same but with only one or two differences? LIES! DELETE THIS REEEEEEEE
>Will it be all style and no substance?
No.
However this game is going to get inordinate amounts of hate due to people assuming this game will appeal to anything more than a very small niche.
>No basebuilding
>No fucking ship customization
>No customizing anything really
Ruined.
Elite Dangerous despite all it's problems will still be the Space Sim of choice.
>no ship customization
wew lad, dropped
If this game just had basebuilding like in Subnautica I would be sold.
Can I have huge spacefights with my faction against other factions over their space stations? No? Then why the fuck should I care?
>look @ them space goats and birds eating grass xD
Yeah. Really interesting.
>Elite Dangerous despite all it's problems will still be the Space Sim of choice.
But that's just it, No Man's Sky isn't exactly a space sim, I'm not even sure it's trying to be.
The point of the game is to explore and collect stuff.
And then what?
18 Quintillion planets and you want to fart around on just one of them?
isn't it like subnautica in space
I'd want some place to go back to at least, not just mindlessly explore and mine for resources all day on a planet and then move on to the next never to go back. I'd like to leave a mark on the world in some way.
No, but that's really what I would like it to be and what it SHOULD be.
They actually have shown enemy fleets fighting against one another during one demo.
I don't know if you would be able to get in a high enough standing to cause a fire fight like that, but you more than likely could participate.
>It'll be fine for me because I honestly just want to cruise around and find shit.
you can do that in Space Engine for free and its a lot better
I've had it for a while now. I need something new, and it sort of helps that No Mans Sky seems to run by it's own logic and not our own universe's.
So there can be more crazy planet and star shit going on.
>indie darling that has an impressive gimmick that doesn't actually contribute to the quality
Is No Man's Sky is the Boyhood of videogames?
My glasses...
GIVE IT BACK TO ME NOW.
>flying in space like an atmospheric place
Kek, thats the worst of all.
This has the same physics like this game wich is from
1994

>Implying that this game is ever going to be released.
go outside then ya fuckin neet
From what I've read, there are randomly generated factions with their own randomly generated styles of ships that will fight each other. You can gain/lose reputation by shooting them or their enemies, but there's no deeper interaction, and there's no menu to keep track of the random factions or even see what your standing with them is, so you'd need to write that shit down yourself.
If a faction hates you they'll shoot on sight. If one likes you enough, they'll shoot at shit that shoots at you and you can press a button to summon a couple of their fighters as wingmen, but you'll never control fleets or anything.
>random random random
wrong
>procedual procedual procedual
Yes.
>being excited for 3d starbound
I think the factions are one of the few things that aren't procedurally generated.
The factions seem to be a separate thing from the handful of non-procedural alien races that you also gain rep with.
Faction info is pretty old and we didn't hear about the aliens until recently, and having both seems kinda redundant, so its also possible the faction idea was scrapped and streamlined into the aliens so they could give it some actual depth.
