If you take too long to complete the game, you get the bad ending

Don't worry, Dead Rising 4 will get rid of all those problems.
>first mission
>get thrown in a hub area
>start exploring
>"user don't dick around too much in the hub, you need to rescue those hostages!"
>just keep dicking around because it's probably just flavor text
>"TOO LATE user THEY ARE ALL DEAD FUCK YOU"
fuck games that do this shit
especially ones that put the whole game under a timer from start to finish
>tfw if you find a secret somewhere, the end of the game mentions it
Human revolution did that once, and then never anything remotely that interesting ever again.
Why?
This is why I never played those dating sim games that give you X number of days to romance 1 or more girls. Fuck that shit man I want to go at my own pace.
>you get the bad ending if you take too much damage
Good old Deus Ex
>Playing the game normally automatically gives you the bad ending
>It's impossible to know that a good ending even exists without spoiling yourself by looking it up on the internet
>playing the game normally gives you the best ending
>for each time you replay it the endings get worse and worse
>if you somehow manage to 100% the game by unlocking some impossible requirements no human could ever be able to figure out you get the worst possible ending as a reward
>problems
>there is a "bad" ending, not just different endings
>sequel comes out which assumes the "good" ending
Why make multiple endings possible if only one is the the true one, anyway?
>you get the bad ending if you're really good at the game
FUCK UNDERTALE TOBY YOU HACK
sounds like somebody needs to get gud
Literally why I never played valkyrie profile and Majora Mask despite playing over a hundred jrpg in my life.
>playing the game normally gives you a good ending
>snooping around for at least some secrets reveals that there never really was a good ending, only some things were omitted from you to make it seem like it was
>finding 100% everything shows that things were even more fucked than you though before
test
>Base game is set on a timer
>Unlock infinite mode
>"Oh fuck yeah finally"
>IT'S YOUR HEALTH THAT TICKS DOWN THIS TIME
>Also there's limited healing items gl hf
Cheeky fucks.
>really good at the game
>just going back and forth in an area until you kill everything which is arguably easier then sparing everyone
??????
>If all the main characters meet at once it's game over
>Game lets you change outfits
>Characters comment on the stupid shit you put them in
>Characters get angry if you strip them
>Other people question you for running around naked
>Girls get angry when you try to look up their skirts
God bless Japan.
>Ashley in RE4 gets super pissed if you try to look up her skirt
>Actually managing to pull it off shows fully rendered panties with a bow, and not just a lazy texture job
>Game over if you don't beat the game in 2 hours
What game?
What game does this?
Also spoil me please, sounds interesting.
>Game's storyline changes completely depending on how fast you complete the first area
Most games that do this or anything similar have some kind of NG+ so you aren't SOL from seeing everything the game has to offer
I guess he's talking about the 2 additional fights that require you to learn the attack patterns.
>your favorite ending is the "bad" ending
Witch's House
And I hate this because I like to spend my sweet time exploring everything.
Omega Quintet has equipable panties... But the girls get mad if you try to look.
Same thing with some of the Neptune games
th-thanks persona 4 that was just 90 hours down the god damn drain
Metro 2033 has to have the most specific requirements of any game to get the good ending. The "bad" ending is canon in the sequel
Another one to thank kojima:
>if you pause the game more than once, EVEN FOR A SECOND, you get the bad ending.
Dude what is this game. Its in mars and is an adventure game right?
Martian Gothic Unification
>are you SURE you're done?
>>no
>are you SUUUUUUUUURE you're done?
>>no
>ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE DONE????
>>no
>okay here's the secret ending
>true ending
Fuck me, fuck this game and fuck the creator
>first level
>Quick, hurry! We have mere seconds before the people of the village are killed!
>piss about for an hour
>literally nothing bad happens
Was it any good or that mechanic was the only cool thing about that game?
>You get the bad ending normally
>You have to pay for the good ending
>game gives you a ton of side activities
>main objectives through the whole games are presented as urgent
fuck ashura
>true ending is not very nice at all
>bad ending is actually the best ending
>Die in Good ending
>Become a ruler of your kind and get a hot nip gf in the Bad ending
Chrono Cross?
>grinding in the optional areas gives you a bad ending
>this is also the canon ending
>game gives you bad ending for killing people
>game actually gets harder if you kill people
>more enemies, enemies are stronger too
Fuck dishonored. Loved it, but that was stupid. Preferred the bad end anyway
luigi's mansion was originally going to do this. the beta for that game has a lot of interesting things in it.
Woah, what? What game?
>Game has a timer
>Turns out not to matter
The "bad" ending is the canon one, since its the same as the book's ending.
I actually read the book, surprised how accurate the game was to it. Now it's going full circle with the final book in the series being based off of last light.
>Game actively tells you to take your time
>You actually get a better experiance, gear and more plot by doing the optional areas instead of rushing through.
How are they stronger? I thought you just got more zombies. Weepers. Whatever.
Also, the game is harder if you don't kill people, but becomes harder if you do. It's quite cunning.
>you need to speedrun through a majority of the game to get the best weapon and even then it's found in an obscure corner that you have no idea or indication that it's there.
The guards become more alert and the final level becomes jammed packed with guards.
Good ol' Cave Story
That may have been tolerable in FF9 if it had ng+.
Anyone know if you can use cheat engine to get Excalibur 2 at the beginning in the steam release.
>You can die and retry as many times as you want but you need to beat the game in 1 hour real time.
>Single Player RPG.
>Doesn't have NG+
There's no excuse
Suikoden II. I'm sure no one saved Nanami and Jowy on the first try without reading guides.
you could just change the time played to 00:00:00 when you get there.
Valkyrie Profile?
>if you beat the final boss you get the bad end
Yeah, the game was a great adaptation of the book (they do skip one or two slower chapters from the book in the game, although its understandable).
I had a really good time with the game, especially since i got it as a gift shortly after i finished reading the book. it was really fun to compare the developers designs to how i imagined things while reading.
>Now it's going full circle with the final book in the series being based off of last light.
So he already started writing the book? Neato, last time i heard about the author he was talking about making a book based on last light.
I still need to play LL and read metro 2034 (although i remember hearing that it was sort of a letdown when compared to 2033).
Parasite Eve 2 sort of.
Damn situational requiments trough different parts of the game
Silent Hill 2?
There's a fucking plague being spread by rats, and you're leaving a bunch of bodies around for them to feast on. Also since you're killing everyone people are getting paranoid.
In what way should this not happen?
>you can lose due to bad rng
Is there a single thing that makes a game more unplayable?
Do any games do this other than Human Revolution?
>The best ending imo is the one where you don't get the girl, follow your dreams AND GO TO SPACE
Then it would only be usable on the final boss and whats the point in an Uber strong weapon if you can only use it once.
Star Contol 2 was the best at this.
If you take too long, they start killing off the other races, one by one.
When I was a kid I got the ending where only the human race was left standing.
>completing objectives gives you more time to get the good ending
That's basically Nier.
Catherine was alright
>rng
Why don't people just call it luck, since that is what it boils down to. Too normie tier for your super sekrit elite gaming jargon?
oof, cringe
wat
acronyms and new words too hard for you champ?
>(pseudo-)random numbers
>not luck
i know what it means. just seems retarded
buttblasted normie who never graduated elementary
>all the cool kids use it, so I'll use it too to fit in
often it doesn't even make that much sense.
>Can only get the normal ending on a first run of the game
>Have to complete the game a second time to get the best ending
>killing the mastermind villain that has been destroying the world for the past years gives you bad ending
>letting him live gives you good ending
Which game?
>he doesn't know why it's called rng
Also, rng =/= luck
>Also, rng =/= luck
If you get random numbers that cause something bad for you to happen, you are unlucky. If the random numbers cause something good for you to happen, you are lucky. In the majority of cases it is used, yes, rng means luck.
It was based on the game very very loosely though.
Oh, wait, I get it. Whining about being unlucky makes you sound like a bitch. Whining about "bad rng" makes you sound like you know your shit.
>get the bad end if you die at any point in the game
>get the bad ending if you choose a seemingly irrelevant dialogue option
Fable 3? Game sucked because of it
>bad ending is canon
>the "good" ending is completely subjective based on what primary color you prefer
>Best ending is dying to a trap.
That game hurt me.
>fail a mission
>mission is cleared, you survive but fail at whatever you were trying to do
>if you fail one of the first missions the story branches off into the shitty ending
>if you fail a mission about halfway into the story, it branches off into the bad ending
Flawed game, but I liked how every mission had an alternate outcome and would absolutely buy a remake.
