ZERO A-PRESSES

ZERO A-PRESSES

HE'S SHAVED OFF ANOTHER HALF A-PRESS

ONLY A MATTER OF TIME NOW

youtube.com/watch?v=JEP8gnvZ_5g

he only got rid of a half a-press for that level, but for the entire game it doesn't save any a-presses

He'll never get past that pole.

Shaving a half-a press only matters if he found a way to shave a preceding A press and this half-press was getting rounded UP.

AFAIK his run does not (yet) feature any half-A presses which have to be rounded up because there's no already-spent A press between them.

So this achieves nothing

If only he coud figure out how to recreate that TTC memory-bit-flip bug

that bug I have a feeling was hardware related.

64 is old and probably there was a voltage drop somewhere that caused a value change

There is no such thing as a half a press.

That strikes me as EXCEEDINGLY unlikely.

I mean, yes, bit-flips DO happen, but it's KNOWN that they happen and that's why at the hardware level redundancy is always implemented.

And the odds of it not only happening, but happening in a way that caused Mario to upwarp, rather than causing the game to break catastrophically? I mean, if his 64 was in such a state that those sort of RAM failures were happening, it's a miracle he got the game running at all without just crashing because some key address value got tossed over.

When I think of "what happens when a value in memory is not something the game expects it to be", I think of what happens to a Pokemon Red cart when you capture missingno, not a single magic jump.

Again, maybe. MAYBE. But in an otherwise fully functional game, something like that screams "corner case bug", not "solar radiation bounced an electron out of orbit in my RAM module" or whatever.

he does everything on emulator though

>the rapture will occur when Mario 64 can be completed without a single A press

which pole are you referring to?

Bowser sea of fire probably
It's the only a press left for 70 star

the one in his pants. Without A you simply can't grab it.

We will be brought to a PU devoid of death, evil and misery, and there will be Pedro Spots for everyone and Scuttlebug jamborees will be allowed in every room.

HALF AN A PRESS IS STILL AN A PRESS YOU FUCKING STUPID PIECE OF SHIT AUTISTS. GO FUCK YOURSELVES!

Once the upwarp is figured out, it's all over

why the fuck are you autists still playing super mario? haha that shit came out nearly 20 years ago grow up. arguing over 0x and 0.5x in a video game haha. go solve some quantum mechanics issues with that nerd cum in your mouths.

>freak out like an autistic fuck
>PIECE OF SHIT AUTISTS
are you ok ?

next thing you'll know we'll hit -1 a presses and the game will implode

t. 13yo

""""Henry""""" calm down, please.

"Henry", please.

>people are honestly discussing this retardation unironically

2016 is a great year for memes so far. Love it.

>People enjoy things I don't like
How dare they!

Is Mario 64 the most complex game of all time?

...

YAH

TELEPOR

GRAW HAW HAW
DIS IS BOWSA 'ERE

I'f he can do some cloning, maybe he could use an enemy to knock him off the pole?

Most of it is pretty ironic

That said, his videos are pretty fascinating just to see how thoroughly people have dissected Mario 64

Doesn't really matter for the full run since he might as well be holding A from the jump needed to access the level

...

always fun

But user, there are no objects or enemies in PUs
Furthermore, we wouldn't be able to see anythign or else the world will crash

Anything he could do like that to get past the pole requires something that's past the pole itself.

What tells you this plane of reality as we know it isn't the PU of the real universe? That would explain why there aren't Mario enemies and rotating platforms in our world.

Vertical PUs are still an enigma, and Horizontal PUs won't help when the stage keeps going up.

it clears the way for no longer relying on half-A presses to complete a run. as long as there is a single half-A press, it would always round up at the end of the run. Honestly I don't think it's possible to 100% the game without at least a single A-press to allow for the half-A presses to be used in the first place. That is unless he can find some way to run arbitrary code. that would be interesting

That Godot mask is so cool looking.
