What possible motivation is there for leaving out USFIV other than Capcom knowing how bad SFV would get exposed?

>Pokken
>Smash
>MK
>KI
>MvC
>this is what competitive fighting has become

Man, makes me glad I've always been too shitty to compete.

Otherwise I'd be embarrassed as fuck.

they 100% did it so that more people would play sfv because it was and still is less hype than sf4

How much did Nintendo pay to have that shit Pokken featured?

I dont think you understand how evo works goy

Predicting like 50% of people who signed up for Pokken to not show up

Huge crossover between players of SFIV and SFV, making the scheduling incredibly difficult.
In Smash this isn't as big of a problem, since the fanbase is very clearly divided into two areas: Meleefriends who will only play Melee, and the other guys who will move on to the next smash game when it comes out.

None.
It was the only Nintendo would let Smash be broadcast, so the EVO organizers got on their knees.

The fact that SFV by itself is more than half the size of the entire tournament.

What's wrong with smash? I'm not gonna pretend I know anything about fighting games, but it always seemed like the most interesting one (read: actually different). Does it involve less skill?

tekken is the only fighting game that comes out with a brand new game and gets literally no new players when it comes out. the nrs games, aksys games, even ki updates see a bump in entrants when a new version comes out. t7fr? no reaction whatsoever.

Won't say Tekken isn't dead, but it's not like T7 is available at retail.

It's a party game played by autists who aren't potty trained. The last fighting game tournament had its pool party shut down because smash kiddies literally took a shit in the pool. Imagine having a board game convention with tournaments running different variations of chess and go, and then a bunch of kids who haven't showered in their lives show up and start playing hungry hungry hippo. i'm glad they're having fun, but they're mostly just taking up space and stinking up the venue.

nice memes, do you have any real reasons? Like I said, I know shit all about fighting games, but as far as I can tell there's no reason why smash would have a significantly lower skill ceiling than any other fighting games, and at least its actually fun for people other than sweaty tryhards who spend their entire life practicing combos in their basements

...

So nothing wrong with the game itself then?

>No Hungry Hungry Hippo, Jenga, Buckaroo, Kerplunk or Popup Pirate at EVO

Your point? Whether or not a game is available at retail has nothing to do with how many people sign up. See: SFV.

What's wrong with KI or are you just memeing?

neither was street fighter 5, pokken, or revelator. every game that gets announced for evo before its release sees an increase in entrants. every game except tekken, that is.

he is look

>People don't even pretend USFIV isn't better than SFV anymore

That was quicker that expected.

are you feeling alright my dude

>tfw Rico is gonna win KI again EZPZ
>tfw Domi will probably be eliminated early on

rico is kind of deserving it man he made the jump from SF to kI with some of the things he learned from SF.
I'd probably be up there with him to if i didn't sell my stick back in 2011

He definitely deserves it, but it's kinda boring watching him destroy everyone any time he's at a tourney. Though Thompson also has a good chance at Evo. Tokido is playing KI now so it's kinda sad he's not gonna be playing KI at Evo.
