I don't know about you guys, but I love how the textures in the new System Shock still have retro feel.
They're not high resolution up close, but still look great.

Look at these glass fractures. Low resolution, right?
But even so, they what they do with them works well.
I appreciate that they kept the neon blue aesthetic.
Even from afar.
i've been keeping an eye on it since it gained attention last year and it looks pretty faithful. hopefully this gets a lot of younger people to play it and appreciate the gem that influenced so many games today.
i like the glass they used for the lights
neat
makes sense considering how many times they'll have to repeat that panel cause of SS1 level design
shill/10
I think they've done it intentionaly, its sort of old but new. It looks VERY good though.
Shame about the gameplay though
>unity engine
It's like how every UE2.5-3 engine game had that oily texture look.
There's a demo that they released. It's on both Steam and GOG, and presumably some other places as well.
There's a demo out, what the fuck m8
Did some cunt call "FAKE" and then delete his posts when called out?
Looks neat.
nah nothing that interesting
The textures are trash, they're really low res. How can you defend this shit?
I've got problems with the System Shock reboot. A lot of problems. And quite a bit of dread.
But none of that has to do with the art design. They've done a fantastic job updating it.
also kinda neat how you can break all the lights
Pretty cool overall. It'd be better if they fix the awful inventory and increase the overall speed.
I just explained how. It has a retro feel to it.
When low resolution textures are done right, it looks great.
It would look 10 times better with good textures I'm sure.
Actually I was leading up to calling it viral
but Sup Forums showed me that I was the fool in this circumstance
LOL
i cant figure out how to get out of this room
I think it looks fine personally but holy fuck they need to sort out the music
figured it out
What does pressing F do?
Gee whiz. I sure wonder what flipping a switch on a gun does.
in SS1 you could choose between 3 different voltages for that gun
It wasn't the safety.
Not seeing the reason to remake a game for modern graphics if you're going to turn around and make it look like shit as a "style"
Thanks I've never played SS1 although it's on my to-do list after Wizardry.
Honestly, I am guessing it is because of the demo not allowing you to modify user settings, and the actual game will probably look a shit ton better then the pixels.
Anyone look at the textures to see if they are actually pixilated?
It's clearly an intentional effect.
It's in the OP. Yes they are, but it looks great.
Except lots of people like the style they did it in.
So, I guess that's just your opinion.
How the fuck do you throw grenades?
