Yes lets show those dirty xboners they don't deserve this!
I remember the first week salesof MGSV being like 2 million on PS4 and 200k on Xbox one, I expect something similar
There will be enough to justify an Xbone version
Just like MGS 5 and Dark Souls 3
Some of you have no fucking clue how business works
If you believe vgchartz (which you shouldn't), the Bone version has 1/5 of PS4 preorders in America. Chances are that the real numbers will be even more skewed.
It comes out on the last day of september, so basically launch day sales. 500k-1m on launch day and 2m by the end of October is my predection
1 million by the end of the month. The gameplay they showed at e3 looked fucking horrible so i dont think it will sell that much on the xbone
Bad game general thread?
15% of total sales.
1 to 2 million.
FF13 sold 2 million on 360 so its possible.
PS4 - 3 million
XBOne 1 million
And yes. I'm factoring in Japanese sales. Game is going to sell half as much as people expect and only 1/4 the amount SquareEnix wants.
The preorders have already exceeded SEs expectations and every $270 CE sold out within hours. It will do 5 to 6 mil on PS4 and 1 to 2 mil on Xbone.
[citation needed]
Reminder that FFXIII sold seven million copies. The like bars on every piece of FFXV youtube videos are also overwhelmingly positive.
This shit's gonna be fucking hotcakes.
Can't wait. Their DLC showcase a couple days ago happened to show that they've already polished up the battle gameplay. Honestly wouldn't have given a shit anyway. Never seen a road trip story told in a video game, at least not on this scale. Fishing and camping also look comfy as fuck. Really liking the small town designs as well.
>FFXV Kun shilling this hard
It was stated in their financial report that XV preorders are already impressive for them
shacknews.com
>Japan: 0
>USA: 1000
>Rest of the world: 500
Asia, most part of America and Europe are PS4 territories.
Are those 7 million lifetime sales?
Besides, how many times has a game been worshipped to the moon only to fall flat on its face after release?
sales don't mean shit.
>wanting to play any upcoming game is now shilling
I hated FFXIII. Doesn't mean it magically flopped. And nothing at all is suggesting that XV is going to financially fail either. Only an overwhelmingly dismal and broken game on release would show a significant drop.
200
It's not even an rpg anymore; can't blame the xboners. They had some decent ones on the 360.
It had sold 7 million by end 2011/ start2012. At the end of 2010 FF13 was at 5.5 million.
Would you fuck off with this shit already.
Plenty. I have a feeling about this one though. So far it's proving to be a pretty standard open world action RPG. What problems there were are being fixed.
It won't be anything exceptional, bad or good.
The way people here act it's gonna be the next Ride to Hell: Retribution, entirely broken and without a single redeeming quality.
I'm just not seeing that. In fact I'm pretty sure I'll have a good time playing it. I won't make the mistake of preordering it (MGSV taught me that harsh lesson), but I'm not seeing any real reason to dismiss it outright.
Actually XIII has 8 million lifetime sales
Now I don't know if XV will beat this but SE is sinking so much money it had better beat it
Are there any road trip style games like this, I wonder? Sounds like it could be pretty fun.
Well the XV movie is getting high reviews in Japan right now and that can affect XV too. Positive word of mouth also does help people who are otherwise on the fence.
>spokesperson for SE says the game is doing well
What do you expect him to say? Sales are not good? He's going to say sales are good to get more people to pre order them, obviously.
It also doesn't give a number for how many have been pre-ordered. And if other SE games are any indication, they probably only made a couple thousand of the special editions, which obviously sell out quickly since all it takes is 5,000 fans buying them.
>Well the XV movie is getting high reviews in Japan right now
Nice. I've been looking forward to that.
Regis seems compelling as fuck, and I really hope that's the case.
FFXV hasn't even started its major marketing push yet. While FFXIII had theirs going a year or more before FFXIII launched. Either SE is going to pump a ton of ads soon before launch or they're not going to put as much marketing into FFXV as they did with XIII and hope its 10 year hype will sell it.
>spokesperson for SE says the game is doing well
No it's the company president saying in a financial report that the preoreders are very impressive, which means they are high number of preorders.
If something was doing bad then SE would have said so just like they did when Tomb Raider sold only 3 million and that it wasn't doing good, but then later it sold 6 million and they said it exceeded their expectations.
>Sales are not good?
Uh yeah? Because they've already done exactly that before.
>And if other SE games are any indication, they probably only made a couple thousand of the special editions, which obviously sell out quickly since all it takes is 5,000 fans buying them.
They made 40,000 $270 ultimate collectors editions, an unknown amount of $100 Deluxe Editions and unknown amount of $60 standard edition.
Also they made 30,000 UCE $270 at first all which sold out instantly, then due to fan demand they made another 10,000 UCE $270 which also sold out instantly.
Nah, that''s not XV-kun. The writing style is all wrong and based on what I've seen, he doesn't know how to use spoilers
It's kind of funny watching Sup Forums stumble around a publisher actually not fucking up for once.
Usually a bad game production is practically self-evident, and I'm just relieved that this doesn't seem to be the case. Something's finally going relatively smoothly for once, and it has nothing to do with fucking Assassin's Creed.
why did Microsoft even do a deal with Squeenix for an XBone version of FF XV and KH3, anyway?
I don't even own a console, I'm legit curious why they think anyone who has an XBox would ever be interested in weeb shit
Spoilers are commonly used to voice unpopular opinions.
It's quite sad isn't it. How many years has this loser been shitposting here?
I sincerely hope he kills himself when this turd comes out and disappoints everyone
>the Xbox is a far more relevant platform for Japanese games than either Nintendo consoles or PC
Daily reminder to report and ignore any post with "Pes" or "Pesmerga"
Or just report XV-kun unless you want the thread to burst up in flames.
The deal for XV and KH3 to come to Xbone happened before both PS4 and Xbone were even out, Type-0 also got announced for Xbone before Xbone was out in Japan. Not a single new game from SE Japan side has been announced for Xbone since the Xbone was released in Japan.
Square probably didn't question it and took the check as soon as it was offered.
How many copies of XIII sold for the 360?
Except Wii U has sold the most in Japan
XIII sold 2 million on 360.
>just like they did when Tomb Raider sold only 3 million and that it wasn't doing good, but then later it sold 6 million and they said it exceeded their expectations.
I remember them saying the first thing, but not the second. I remember them saying Tomb Raider was a failure even after it sold 6 million.
XIII was legitimately better on the 360, ironically.
> Pesmerga
Isn't that this kurd force in iraq ?
Why isn't XV coming to the Wii U?
No. Just some random person on the internet a certain autist is butthurt about.
Because XV is a PS3 game
because it would look like a PS2 game and run at 30FPS
FF has about 2 million core fans who will buy the next game no matter what. The rest of the sales have to come from the general public. And from what I've seen, the general public seems rather repid when it comes to this game, to say the least. I'm sure a couple million people will buy it just because of hype. But I doubt it'll reach the sales of FFXIII. Let alone VII or X.
I also think SquareEnix is gonna market the remake of FFVII a lot more than they'll market FFXV. And hope that hype for FFVII will carry over to FFXV and other FF games. Aiming for a PC release of both.
I've gotta see this. I thought it was pretty on the PS3. The mouth movements in particular were boner inspiring.
What the fuck are you talking about?
576p vs 720p
Are you nuts? Not to mention the artifacting on all pre-rendered videos because of the compression
>run at 30fps
so higher than the PS4 version then?
>720p
It was one of the rare 1080p PS3 games, actually.
No. Its a guy from Suikoden.
They said it was a disappointment at 3 million, that it exceeded expectations at 6 million, then later it sold 8.5 million which obviously would have exceeded them more.
siliconera.com
Hey, it worked for Bloodborne.
No, that was just the CGI cutscenes that took up over 30gb of the bluray disc
The actual game was at 720p
At least one because I'm getting it. I got MGSV and the megaman collection too, I'm upholding nippon games on this shitty console
Uh what?
>but muh power
The PS2 was a fucking dogshit console in terms of specs, yet the GameCube saw absolutely nothing from the Japanese. Occam's Razor should just suggest that Nintendo is completely irrelevant, and Sony dominates Japan.
I'm seeing way more hype for XV than I have any other mainline in over a decade, even dare say since 7. And since FF7 every mainline FF has sold as at least 5 million so I'd say there is at least 5 million core fans.
good for you
They must've scaled up then, my mistake. My TV noticeably changes resolutions.
Still damned pretty at any rate, likely due to the hallways and barren Gran Pulse field.
Really liked the focus on character development storywise though. They used the l'cie plot to their advantage in that department.
The actual reason is because Wii U can't run DX11 engines let alone all the tech used. XV runs on Luminous which is DX11 based, same reason why KH3 isn't for Wii U either since that is on UE4 which is also DX11 based.
In fact DQ11 announced for NX right now at least proves NX is DX11 capable, so we could see XV and KH3 coming to NX.
Why is Nintendo always okay with being one step behind?
The PS4 can run DX11?
I find that bullshit. The real reason is; Sony owns Japan. Sony has power. But keep trying to split hairs, trying to come up with another excuse.
>And since FF7 every mainline FF has sold as at least 5 million so I'd say there is at least 5 million core fans.
That's not how it works. Every FF game from VII and on got huge marketing budgets. And the majority of sales for those games came from the general market. The 'core' market are people who buy games other than mainline. Which most FF spin offs, remake and sequels sell around 500k-1 million.
Another way you can consider the core fans is the drop off of sales between FFXIII, FFXIII-2 and Lightning Returns. Going from 8 million to 2 million with a sequel shows that most non FF fans didn't bother with the sequel.
Oh yes it was a gorgeous game
It upscaled the 720p image to 1080p to avoid the rez change in all the pre-rendered cutscenes
CGI was especially fantastic
Yes, PS4 has it's own method of parsing DX11 engines.
>Sony owns Japan
XV and KH3 are not exclusive to Sony, they are both coming to Xbone because Xbone and PS4 both support DX11.
Nomura literally said himself in 2013 that XV and KH3 are only considered for platforms that support DX11. Wii U is not one of them.
>The 'core' market are people who buy games other than mainline
That makes no sense, the mainline are the entire prestige to the FF brand. Spinoffs and sequels only sell to people who enjoy the specific mainline FF that the spinoff or sequel is coming from.
That drop you mentioned is not core fans that get every game leaving, it's people who liked FF13 bought FF13-2, people who liked FF13-2 bought LR. That only shows us the people who like that specific game, world and characters, it is not applicable to the entire franchise because every mainline FF sells more than the direct sequels and spinoffs.
Yeah, okay. I'm still sticking by my reasoning that Sony coerces the entire country of Japan to make games for their consoles. After all, they literally own half of all Japanese media, the other half that Kadokawa doesn't have.
But, please. Keep telling me that Sony has earned these games.
I guess you just ignored again that XV and KH3 are not Sony exclusive. Ignored that XV and KH3 are both being made on DX11 engines. Ignored that Wii U does not support DX11 at all. Ignored that the devs at SE themselves already stated that XV and KH3 are only considered for DX11 platforms.
But XIII-2 sold 4 million
It was Lightning Returns that sold less than 2 million
Which brings the "core" fans down to those 2 million
A "core" FF fan would buy any FF game for a console they own
>Keep telling me that Sony has earned these games.
Considering the only requirement was that their console could run DX11, they essentially had earned XV and KH3. I'm completely with you in that Sony owns Japanese entertainment, but the evidence speaks for itself here.
That isn't even core FF fan, that is just FF13 fans.
7 million people bought FF13, 4 million people liked FF13 enough to buy FF13-2, 2 million people liked FF13-2 enough to buy LR. That is specific to that 13 series. Not the entire FF series.
At least one. Got that ultimate edition secured.
>That makes no sense, the mainline are the entire prestige to the FF brand.
No it isn't. In fact, the core FF fanbase can't even decide which mainline games are good. And constantly complain about the latest FF game being bad.
>Spinoffs and sequels only sell to people who enjoy the specific mainline FF that the spinoff or sequel is coming from.
Seuqles maybe. Spin offs are not connected to the mainline games. They cater to the core FF fans. And as such, are a more reliable measurement of how many core FF fans there are. While millions of non FF fans will buy the latest mainline game due to hype and marketing.
Direct FF sequels don't exactly have a glowing reputation.
Dirge of Cerberus comes to mind.
Pic related, too.
>tfw the prettiest character in XV is Prompto
>tfw even Lightning is a better character than the """"women"""" in XV
>No it isn't.
Yes it is, the entire draw to FF is the mainline series, that is the prestige of the franchise.
>FF fanbase can't even decide which mainline games are good.
I guess you are ignoring that the entire point of the FF franchise is that they are all different and everyone has ones they like and don't like, that doesn't have anything to do with your argument.
>Spin offs are not connected to the mainline games.
Crisis Core, Before Crisis, Dirge of Cerberus, all FF7 spinoffs, not really considered sequels in the same way 10-2 is to 10 or 13-2 is to 13. They are not reliable for anything other than those specific entries, every mainline entry has their own fans which is why you cannot judge the entire franchise from spinoffs and sequels.
>sales thread
Back to /biz/ or NeoGaf with you, otherwise take your detour to
>tfw you are absolutely certain this guy unironically uses the term "feminine penis"
>""""shitpost""""
Why do you keep making it obvious that it's you? Fuck off Lightningdrone.
I guess that makes sense
I still think a fan would give a sequel a shot in any case, or even a spin-off for that matter
>pic related too
But you posted the best FF game
>caring about sales
why?
No tits and no ass. Cidney is fucking garbage.
>But you posted the best FF game
I stopped playing when they turned Zanarkand, the tomb of a metric shitload of summoners, into a theme park.
Fucking Al Bhed jew faggots.
>Yes it is, the entire draw to FF is the mainline series, that is the prestige of the franchise.
>no it isn't
>yes it is, let me just repeat myself
No it isn't.
That's Cindy.
Uh what? There is more personality just in the idle animations in XV than Lightning had in three games. Fuck off back to your plank.
>I guess you are ignoring that the entire point of the FF franchise
Just like you ignored tons of my points.
That was the entire point
That nothing was sacred anymore and there were a lot of people who were fucking mad at Yevon
How did you miss that?
I guess you are fucking blind. Cidney has the same level of thighs as Ashe does while also having bigger tits than most FF girls.
This. XIII had good development arcs for most of the characters. Lightning was not one of those characters.
>I have never seen a XV-kun post
Sandy McNoAss
Is that scene in the game or just promotional material?
