Pretty good. I wish the inventory management was less annoying, though. I didn't have to use any items until Gwyn's fight with Velvet, up until that point I had to just keep mixing shit just to free up inventory space.

Just beat it not too long ago, really enjoyed it. Improved a lot from the PS2 version.

pretty good
art style is cute and comfy
combat is pretty crunchy

Best looking game of 2016 and it's a PS2 port

Its pretty I guess.

Felt too much like every other Vanillaware game ever.

Fucking great

weebshit. It sexualizes women too much.

Just beat Gwendolyn's chapter. Gameplay is really solid. Air-juggling niggas all day doesn't get old.

First time playing it. Gwendolyn has hella daddy issues but liking it so far, started on hard because Sup Forums said it would be too easy otherwise and even then I felt it was easy, managed to get S rank on each stage until chapter 3 and now difficulty seems appropriate.

Very repetetive, especially in terms of level design. Also the story is shit, the game is too easy to S rank. Overall I enjoyed it, but it's not a game that I'd ever go back to.

I wanna fuck that rabbit

I want to impregnate Gwendolyn

She sounds a lot like Aigis for some reason and the thought of an actually human Aigis is hot

Don't mind repetition too much, so it's excellent.

Also, GOAT arrange.

Gwendolyn's arc was frustrating to watch until the last two books. I've grown to like her.

I've bought it four times over the years and still haven't played it.

Bought it when it came out for PS2, lost my copy in a divorce, bought it again to replace for PS2 used, then bought the digital version for PS3, and got Leifthrasir when it came out.

The artbook smells REALLY NICE.

As I already own the PS2 version, I bought the Vita version for portability.

A good game but I don't think it's worth buying if you already have an original copy.

Wish I spent the money on Zero Time Dilemma.

Same VA, Karen Strassman.

I'm only in the middle of Gwendolyn arc and really love this game. Best weeb game I've played in ages.

She's pretty cute though, also not sure if it's the same for each character since I'm not done with her story yet but I also like the small additional animations like if she eats at the traveling chef or pays her mouth after eating. It's just cute.

Also is it ever explained why she gets her short hair, armor, etc back after chapter 3 or is it just for gameplay purposes?

Each character has a unique animation for eating, and most actions, really. Gwen's would be the best if Mercedes licking her fingers wasn't the most adorable animation in the game.

Not explained. She's always had long hair, just tied up like the other valkyries.

Oh shit I never noticed the braid until now. That was the part that bothered me the most but it makes sense now.

>A good game but I don't think it's worth buying if you already have an original copy.
I have the original and it's so shit to play it's not even remotely fun.

Gorgeous graphics, great story and gameplay. Classic Vanillaware awesomeness.

Only flaw is it gets repetitive and annoying to play the same stages/bosses many times over with different characters. I get that it's a function of playing the same story from different perspectives, but a little less overlap would've been nice. Still a 8.5-9/10 to me.

Doing Gwendolyn arc now. Only one thing bothering me.

Is it explained why Gwen seems to fall for Oswald so fast? Did that sleeping potion cause it or is it just some stupid love in first sight shit? She doesnt even know him except from killing her countrys soldiers in battle and almost killing her too

Both but later it's more based on Oswald's actions revolving around her especially since they just met and had an arranged marriage.

Yeah, Odin ordered to cast a charm spell on her so that she is forced to love Oswald and become her wife

>Is it explained why Gwen seems to fall for Oswald so fast?

Odin explained it when he cursed her. Punishment for valkyries is that they renounce being a warrior forever, and are forced to fall in love and become wife and mother. Oswald is basically that for Gwen.

Yeah, it's hard to notice when she's wearing feather muffs by dre.

You'd have to wait 'till Oswald's book. But basically, love at first sight. Kind of understandable considering she's never had anyone give a shit about her before.

I played the PS2 original and thought it was great overall, but I never again wanted to play trough it again. It got way too repetitive, and some areas were just pure pain to trudge trough. I never want to fight those fucking mages and slimes again.

How much does this improve the gameplay? Is it still repetitive and does Velvet still play like shit?

Ever played Muramasa? That's the closest comparison to how it plays now.

That's awesome. Is the game still the same length? Still as repetitive as before?

I guess I need to play further to see it myself then. Kinda sad if its forced love by that spell or love at first sight because of her daddy issues and no love in her life before. Maybe I think differently when I see it myself.

Same length but since it's a lot more free-flowing I don't find it as repetitive.

Just wait for Cornelius. Fucking rabbit god

I won't pretend I played the original game on PS2, but I tired a little bit of the "original mode" included with the remake.

The gameplay is completely overhauled, it's so much faster and better in the remake now. It's basically a 2D DMC. I think it has the best gameplay of every Vanillaware game.

>still has wings and can fight

i really want it. i just dont want to pay 60

Really love this game. Should I get Muramasa Rebirth too, if I enjoy this game so much?

I paid $0

Yeah man

how

Yes, and don't forget the DLC.

It's a PS3 game senpai

i want the ps4 version

The combat from Rebirth was basically ported over to Leifthrasir, so yes. If possible, grab the complete collection, cause the DLC characters are honestly fantastic.

Who cares? They both play just as well.

Absolutely, Muramasa is great. The only downside compared to OS is that the two different characters play the same, but if you get all the DLC you basically get a decent range of four extra chacters with radically different playstyles, although their scenarios are much shorter than the characters in the main game. So be sure to get it.

Also, posting best track:

youtube.com/watch?v=sx2iHMpZdcw

i do, because i want it for ps4

Then pay your 60 bucks goy.

i dont want to, i already said that

Bretty amazing, the only bad point is the sometimes rehashed shit, apart from that, gameplay, art, music, systems, especially the skill trees and exploration are terrific.

GET MURAMASA WITH THE DLC
The DLC is fucking great and it's one of the best games on the Vita. Hours of fun and it's got so much content, like Soul Sacrifice Delta

shame gwyndolyn doesn't get fat if you feed her too much

Looks like I'm getting that Muramasa Rebirth Complete Collection today already. Good thing I asked about it here. Can't believe I've missed Vanillaware games until these days.

Fuck off with your shit fetish.
Or at least go play Muramasa and get Rajyaki's second ending.

In European PSN Muramasa is on sale but the DLC isn't. It's cheaper to get them separately than in the bundle.

Wait 'till you get to Dragon's Crown.

Nice tracks nig.

youtube.com/watch?v=st8Yf4rESEQ

Thats good to know. Getting them separately then I guess.

Yeah, gonna go for it after Odin Sphere and Muramasa. It seems it was pulled from euro PSN just now, but they will put it back there soon enough.

> It seems it was pulled from euro PSN just now
I think that was because of licensing issues.

is anything shared between characters like item storage or money or phozons?

Once you beat the 5 main stories.

Good gameplay, but incredible repetitive.
Good artstyle.
Lots of reused assets.
Decent characters and story.

Solid 6/10. Without the remake mechanics is a 4/10.

Is Muramasa Rebirth any good?

It's on sale on EU psn.

If you enjoyed the new Odin Sphere, yes. Absolutely. Get the Genroku Legends DLC with it.

Once you get the ball rolling it's 2D Devil May Cry tiers of crazy.

Confirmed for not having completed Oswald's story.

The forced love part of the curse was a lie.

Can I buy dlc after I beat the game? Or does it add something to the base game? I am short of money right now

You can buy and play it anytime you like. It does not alter the main game in any way.

>Psychosomatic love-at-first-sight
That's actually even more contrived, but oh well.

The Genroku Legends are entirely seperate from the main game, they're unique scenarios for four new characters. The stories tie into the main game as well, so you're arguably better off playing the main game through first anyway.
