Anybody want to talk about this game, their favorite class combos and VAs? I'm about 8 hours in and I'm enjoying it so far

Fucking pirate niggers are going to cause this game to flop now
It was always gonna flop
>implying modern Nintendo deserves a single dollar
It's not even a Nintendo game you fucking piece of shit kill yourself
I really want to support Sega franchises coming west but I played the demo and it just felt like Etrian Odyssey But Worse
>can choose appearence regardless of class
I love this.
>God Hand has a unique debuff that she needs to stack on enemies to use moves
>ability gives chance to give her extra turn if she lands it
>if she lands the debuff on her extra turn then she can get more extra turns
This shit right here along with agent's "land a critical and you can still keep shooting" and Fortuner's "tag along extra" are pure bliss.
Also has the dlc schedule been released yet?
Thanks senpai I love concept art
Np
>Agent page 2
Already played it in January, but it's gonna be nice to play it in English.
Where the .CIA to download?
They could've released it on a system where people are actually forced to buy games like the vita. They kinda deserve it knowing people will just pirate it. Idiots if you ask me
EU release when?
Still waiting on the .CIA link
Who made this game anyway? Was it atlus or someshit?
Imageepoch after they closed. Finished it with Sega's help.
I have it pre-ordered on Amazon. I enjoyed the original and 2020 plenty, so I'm looking forward to it.
Already played it Japanese, the game is way to easy and you have to grind so fucking much. And it's not like you can't not grind, you need to kill Dragons to upgrade facilities and shit, fuck that, go bored after the 4th chapter, and the game has to be stupid and call them like 3.2 for some reason.
Yeah but it is Sega's IP. Though the way the story goes, it probably would be the last one anyway
The series was originally produced by Sega and developed by Imageepoch and had I believe the director of the first EO on it, which is why there are some similarities between the series. He left after the first game on DS, Sega and Imageepoch continued for 2020 and 2020-II on PSP, and this entry Sega developed themselves because Imageepoch was on the verge of bankruptcy and were focused on getting out their "swan song", Stella Glow, but all the staff from the Sega side and some of the staff from the Imageepoch side were still on it.
Pretty sure I've heard the director saying it's the last one.
It sold decently in Japan thanks to the VA cast. Hope it continues in some way.
It's still stupid they decided to bring over the last game. Sure, they're all mostly all stand alone stories, but III and its time travel really ties everything together, and even though the game tells you everything you need to now, you're not getting the same the same experience that someone would get by playing all of them since there's tons of references and returning characters.
Hard to be too upset, considering Sega's horrendous track record with localisations. They just can't be fucked to bring any of them over, which is why it's shocking they're localizing III.
It's odd to jump directly into III, but most people here haven't played the series, so I doubt they care about any draws to the 2020 story, sadly.
I always thought about playing one of these games, but what sets it apart from other JRPs? From gameplay videos it doesn't look like anything special
piratefags should die~
EO with high customization, less mapmaking and more DRAGONS
>that bonus dungeon
Cancer
>tfw waiting for II to be translated first
AHHH SAVE US CAVESPEAK user
You have to kill a major character from 2020
Well at least 1 and 2020 have fan translation, I'm sure anyone that cared about the series already played them.
It's nothing like EO though.
>~
why don't you join them user-kun?
>It's nothing like EO though
Read the post again dood.
So then why bother bringing it up then?
>Mario is like Sonic except you don't go fast and the game is actually good.
The 3ds install base is fuckhuge in Japan. I'm sure they've already made enough money from sales over there
Still waiting for 2020-II though before I buy it
Because EO is probably the only other Dungeon crawler he knows
Now don't get salty on me son, we're havin' a nice discussion here let's keep that way, you dig?
Eh, there are some similarities, but the approach each takes in those similarities is different enough that you can't just say if you like one you'll like the other. And there's all that's totally different between the two.
People just like comparing them due to same composer and Kazuya Niinou working on the first, or the mechanics with Dragons being reminiscent of FOE's.
Can I just start the game? DOes it require knowledge of any previous games?
Well, 7th Dragon 1 is literally top-down Etrian Odyssey. Other 7D games not so much.
You can already get it in Freeshop.
Did they ever find the CEO of imageepoch's body?
It has a lot of references, but it's not a story-driven game.
The Yakuza left no traces behind!!!
Playing the other games is not a requirement but would greatly increase the enjoyment of 3's story
Uhh did we play the same game? You get new dialouge every new area you step in to and not to mention the cutscenes before, in the middle, and after each workd (or time period i guess)
Apart from customization, it's boring as hell. Combat is piss easy even by turn based jrpg standards and dungeon crawling is constantly interrupted by making you go back to your base and hear some pointless exposition. If that wasn't enough, all quests are basically fetch quests that send you all over the Nodens building.
If that's not enough to turn you off, the games has less than 40 hours of content with post game included.
Basically, it's like EO with 3rd person view, except it's not even half as good.
.
I'd like to talk about this game, but I live in Europe.
Piracy is completely justified if these chucklefucks decide to screw over your entire region by just not releasing the game on a region locked platform. We've been waiting years for SMT4 and it takes half a year to release the EO titles here. Fuck Atlus/Sega for shitting on Europe.
