Gosh I remember when the Witcher 3 was about to come out. There was some hype, excitement and anticipation, but it was relatively small. The following Witcher gained grew geometrically in the year after release.

It was/is a good game that is relatively easy to get into.
How good it is really varies depending on what one finds important in games. It had good music, atmosphere and characters. The story was meh, but still leagues above asscreed and skyrim.

what does it have in common with skyrim besides being an open world rpg? Immensely better writing, quests, combat, characters, graphics for the witcher 3. and skyrim had more skills and physics based items. but theyre not similar in terms of gameplay
i dont like the question mark discovery system. the collision is shit in this game. Very little physics based interactivity. Id like more options for skills. Also the vegetation in the game looked ugly and there was too much of it.

I could easily imagine that Infinite had a very troubled creation process. When you look at the first previews it looks like a very different, and much more interesting, experience.
They wanted to make something new, but they wanted to it be closely connected to Bioshock1+2. They ended up with a mishmash of new ideas and plots, and a recycling of old ideas and plots.
In Bioshock everything fit together. The weapons, the plasmids, the plot, the characters, the themes - it all made sense. In Infinite it's jammed in there because they wanted to have it and no further thought was put into it. It comes across as much less charming and interesting.
Dunno why they dumbed down the gameplay. Perhaps play-testers were confused?
Nothing, but there are a lot of autists here who can't get enjoyment from games without the gameplay being good. These people are sad, sad people, don't by like them, enjoy games you like and try to expand your mind
So I just started to play this game without play witcher 1 and 2,and during the interrogation at the castle I have no idea what are they talking about which I assume about previous games,hopefully no more mention previous games after this.

I first read the books as a kid, was trying to reread them recently and I forgot how incredibly edgy the books are. Its like they are written for 15 year olds which is the best time to read them.
Still have a lot of nostalgia for the franchise as its pretty much perfect to make a video game out of.
Also Sapkowski wrote another book that was basically video game Darklands from 1992 adapted to book form.
He must have played the game.
I would have preferred if this game was about a random witcher witching about beating the shit out of monsters with an overarching plot
