How do people play this thing? I tried her once and everything felt awful, you have to play against mentally retarded people for D.Va to work.

D.Va is a back-line disruptor. Winston usually does her job better though.
She and Winston are only useful in situations where you can get behind the enemy and interfere with their healers/snipers.
If that is not viable, pick something else.

i have almost a 70% winrate in comp and our lineup has a d.va about half the time. our d.va switches between her and zarya usually, and it works pretty great

we do 2 tank/2support/2whatever for every map except the KOTH maps, works really well

Not really, enough people have realized how fucking easy he is to deal with that I am often hearing him cry for help over and over and over and over again.

Nor is he the type to move after getting seen, leading to near-instant death.

Nor is the type to pick some other character on things like attack or KotH

D.va is good when you either need to fuck backline snipers/healers up or clash in a closet sized area.
In both cases, Winston is just better.

Not really, staying on the frontline to heal and buff while dodging incoming fire and getting to a good position feels like a minigame on its own I like playing.

That's nice and all but if you're good at healing, you should never have to rez anyone. Don't know why people are impressed that a Mercy can let her whole team die and then just rez them. All her ult is really good for is baiting out enemy ults.

At least she's good for best ship though
