If there ever is a sequel to Paper Mario TTYD, what do you want in it?

A better system for partner upgrades than just finding specific blocks in the world. Like, you have to find tutors or something and do sidequests to unlock new attacks
Nothing more, nothing less.

There is already a sequel to TTYD.
Honestly i'd be fine with something pretty much the same in mechanics, with new maps/puzzles, plot, and dialog. It's not like there are so many games out there doing the same thing that having one traditional Paper Mario game every decade is overdoing things.
I guess there could be new badges and stuff like that, and some new novelties for solving puzzles out of battle like the way TTYD had the paper airplane and such. But in general, PM/TTYD have solid gameplay already. Changing that aspect of the game made about as much sense as if they turned Pokemon mainline into an FPS to be "experimental" and said they're never going back to the old style.
Better world design/less backtracking/padding, that's all the game needs to be perfect.
I just want a remake of ttyd with rpg mechanics simplified. maybe use the excellent combat system from sticker star and removing partners in favour of stickers that summon characters from the mario universe. I also find it weird that they made typical mario enemies into partners. This confused me and was relieved they removed this in later installments
You forgot your image, cody.
Them to go back and re-learn some important shit they forgot when making TTYD
In 64 most backtracking involved multiple pathways, or an open area, and even then they made you backtrack sparingly.
Another big important one is the General White shit.
The closest equivalent in 64 is the Flower Seeds, but unlike General White you can collect those as you go along, meanwhile White has you go fucking everywhere no matter where you saw him before.
I also would like improvements on the stage mechanics make them less RNG and more stuff like the backdrop falling. Maybe make it so Mario gets a move for Tattling so 100%ers arent forced to just keep 1 partner out for most of the game.

Post YFW Nintendo was going to make an HD remake of TTYD but didn't think people would buy it so they scrapped it
nintendonews.com
The main issue is that Nintendo is looking at the overral sales instead of the attach rate.
Even though super sold the best, they did that japan only survey which probably only asked "which was your favorite element" that gave a one choice list, hence why "less than 1% said they didn't want a story"
I heard once that even japanese fans didn't know about said survey, and if the other anons that translated those messages are right, then japanese fans don't like the direction the series is going.
That picture is tl;dr.
Is the new game going to be good? Sticker Star is absolute garbage.
TTYD looks fine the way it is. I'd rather have an actual sequel than a remake.
It's wasn'tcanned. Read the bold words. They'll consider it if enough people ask. "Ask and you shall recieve" not "shitpost in a chinese fingerpainting class to recieve"
Nintendo scrapping things?
You mean like Paper Mario on the 3DS that doesn't suck?
>Partners
>Original battle system
The sticker system was already in place then, but there were still original things and partners like monty mole king and the chain chomp.
These beta screens were after miyamoto said it was too similar to TTYD and before he said to not use OCs;
There was a sequel, its called Super Paper Mario.
Just like how TTYD was inspired by the things introduced in Sunshine, I want the third Paper Mario game to be inspired by Galaxy.
At this point I would never ask for a sequel because I know they would fuck that up too.
>PM 64/TTYD styled backgrounds and stage for battles
>no stupid fucking white outline on everything paper
>partner
why oh why did it have to get shit on
Stupid gimmicks and bland toads
Enemies were going to have the normal paper mario look instead of the NSMB versions too.

Watch as what could be a good game becomes what it is because of a series of bad decisions.
less bullshit
less 200 hour conversations
more innuendos
Paper Mario 64 is the superior game
An actual fucking ending
What do you mean?
A 2D platformer with an emphasis on story. playable Peach, Bowser and Luigi alongside Mario.
When I played sticker star, I completed the damn museum. I battled all enemies, because I thought the chain chomp partner was an unlockeable from completing the museum.
In the end, it was just a huge waste of time.
