Because the lowest rung of professionally produced Japanese games are still better than the average independently produced American game.
Because anime girls are life.
Because AAA games are so bad now that the Japanese can shit out anything with tits and it's loved since western games can't make attractive women anymore because of feminism.
It doesn't help that the people who buy the game are the people who are most likely interested in it. Even if they aren't, a lot of the time they'll write a positive review because they're in the denial stage of grieving their lost money.
Because the people who buy them like them
>9%
The age of waifus is upon us user. Anime is the future.
Only weebs buy it, and they get what they expect.
No, it's because weebs eat any garbage that is colourful and anime. Doesn't make a difference how bad it is
Look how bad the first hyperneptunia game was and how many people defended it to the death because weebs
because having an anime character will polarize it. Weebs that see it will buy it up, people that dont like anime will continue to ignore it.
Because the Japanese know how to pander to their consumers instead of jerking off pretending to be artists.
>pirate this last night
>thinking I'll be able to dress up Sonico in slutty shit and jerk off to her in different poses
>it's a fucking stressful photography minigame and VN combined (complete with shitty MC)
Who thought this was a good idea?
Because you know exactly what you're getting
Is taking pictures literally all you do in this game? That's lame even for degenerate weeb game standards.
People don't like it, so they don't buy it.
People who like that "sort of thing" will buy it and rate it high because.
It's not that difficult to understand.
>people that don't watch anime on Sup Forums
>mouthbreathers that started lurking post 2008
Fucking ledditors.
This so fucking much. When you have a game with such an dividing style, it's going to drive most of people who would dislike it away even before they buy it.
>Why does every game with an anime girl in the cover art have a Positive / Very positive rating?
This is why, joke reviews and
Because nobody buys them except people who have already set their standards low enough to expect nothing.
back to /r/anime, friendo.
You can like anime without having to stoop to the level of playing shit like Senran Kagura and Sonicoshit
>thread full of neo-Sup Forums complaining about "weebs"
Is there any way how we could get rid of cancer like you?
I'd argue to say both are pretty bad but after going through steams indie section I can't help but think that americans are worse
> weebshit samefag
Oh god how much I hate those "oh look how quirky I am by playing shitty anime games ironically =)" shitters.
>""""""""weebs"""""""
Why the quotation marks?
I don't get it.
Nothing found.
How did you get that from those reviews? They just wanted to make a shit joke review. Doesn't mean they don't genuinely like the game
kill yourself
How do I make Sonico become a sexy gravure model? I keep making her some stupid shit like Cute Girl and "Oddol".
>no Pochaco
-11/10
I like anime but anime games are always trash
this, if you're into weeb games you already know what you're getting and don't have a reason to be disappointed
Unfortunately there are no obvious distinctions to weebs with taste and not. So all must be regarded as trash.
Because you use massive numbers of quotation marks for weebs, one series of parenthesis for yous and three for Jews.
Because that word does'n mean anything anymore, everyone just calls everyone who likes anything japanese a weeb.
Ham is haram.
Because weeb used to actually mean something, now it's just thrown on anytime some mentions anime
Because only pathetic weebs take the time to review them.
Patently false.
I love cute anime girls but I've been let down tons of times when the actual game is total shit and the cute girls are just window dressing.
Why the fuck would you buy it if you didn't like the anime artstyle? There are plenty of anime games on Steam that are rated down for being shit. Also, meme reviews.
Because they are games laser targeted to a specific niche demograph. The vast majority of buyers know what they are getting into and that they will enjoy it.
Because anime games are actually good unlike lazily made westshit for casual gaymers.
"Ironic weebs" on steam buy anything with an anime artsyle aND praise it regardless of how good it is.
Its how Nekoparra got popular because they can call the girls waifus
If the game don't have thick I'm gonna be sick
Call me when she gets modded in
>Oddol
I dunno why but I'm dying
>there are mouthbreathers on here that like how modern anime/manga turned out compared to older stuff
The definition of a weeb has changed over the years. I pretty much use it as an insult to anyone obnoxious that uses anime to be obnoxious with. I watch a lot of anime and weebs as per my own definition. It's like the difference between a black person and a nigger to me.
Still better than the westshit you like.
I don't know OP
>and hate weebs as per my own definition
I meant to say
Why do you faggots still cling on to stuff like Bebop and refuse to move on?
Why do you watch weebs? Why not watch birds or something instead?
Nekopara is a solid "game" of that genre though.
I need more images of 2D girls stating the truth.
Because only "ironic" weeaboos and anime fanboys buy them
>i o-only like 90s ovas!
>m-modern anime sucks!
confirmed less than 300 completed newshit
So, this game is good, right?
Birds don't bends the fabric of space and time by existing. It's a weird, transcendental experience to watch a weeb in the real world.
Because we evidently grew up in different time periods
Yes.
ya got me champ. that's just what I said
>3D women are not important
>Were it not for them you wouldn't be born
>Were it not for them Tsuji Santa wouldn't be born and he would have nothing to base Sonico off of
I enjoyed it quite a bit. The visuals and music go together extremely well.
No, its a VN and a bad one at that.
It's alright, it's a vn so there's not much gamey stuff to it but it has nice atmosphere and music
>jeans under a skirt
my life has been changed forever.
That's the thing. Even if a cute anime girl game is shit, you still have the eyecandy you paid for. So you can't say it was an entirely unpleasant experience. A shit game with cute anime girls is better than a shit game without cute anime girls, as part of its nature.
Sup Forums has always made fun of actual weeaboos retard
lmao all these faggots who think that neptunia tier games are good
Because the only people who touch them in the first place are weebs who enjoy those kinds of games.
>you don't watch every flavor of the month moeshit? you have shit taste
kill yourself
>3dpd maymay
I don't really get why Lain is so popular, was it more groundbreaking at the time or something? I much preferred Texhnolyze.
Because I experience modern anime as a distraction meticulously engineered to pander to hopeless and miserable people half in denial, half unwilling or unable to take control.
Next time you begin an anime, look at the characters and realize you know almost everything they're going to be, functionally and otherwise. The reason for this is that demographics data has been very well elaborated and characters have been distilled down to their base archetypes to facilitate an easy and guaranteed return on investment along with merchandising. This business model isn't sustainable, but it doesn't matter. Full digital workflows are cheap. Only the old world relics are still holding on to cels in some capacity, usually to the betterment of their product's quality (like Production IG and to some extent Madhouse).
I changed, but anime changed too. It's empty and soulless, and nothing like the fun and interesting, but also substantial works that dotted history when I was younger. That's a real shame.
Because Sup Forums is contrarian, so even though everyone loves anime-style games, Sup Forums hates it just to be contrarian.
It's because the type of person to buy that, is also the type to make little joke reviews. Steam reviews are worthless. The only time a game gets negative reviews is if it completely doesn't work, or if advanced level jewry is at work..
Those girls are from a yuri manga
Maybe you should stop watching shit then.
Sonico is super fucking cute, her bubbly personality is not grating like usual moe characters, it's cool that you can speak to her while taking pictures.
>moeshit
>>>/leddit/
Japanese industries in general are soulless commercials constructed to pander for money. Idols and shit like Baby Metal are created in what is basically factories.
I personally take everything at face value and just try to not overthink things. No point in making myself unhappy.
>It's because the type of person to buy that, is also the type to make little joke reviews.
So people are paying $35 just to make joke reviews?
kys pedo scum
It's still groundbreaking and novel. There;s nothing else like it. Part of it is rooted in history though, and people of a certain age range (especially given that they're on Sup Forums), are likely to find it relateable, meaningful, valuable, whatever. People watching it in a modern context probably heard about it through people mentioning it as "2deep4u" or "pretentious and ambiguous, but shallow" or whatever. This framing and the mindset that consistent exposure to it creates ruins the experience and gets in the way of people connecting with it. Chans are more or less toxic, and they drown out the more personal testimonies of someone's own time watching it and what it meant to them.
I liked Texhnolyze just as much.
Weebs aren't even human
This, also the fact that basically every anime now is just butchered advertisement for source material with incomplete story or shitty original ending
Because only people who buy the game can revuev it.
And the fags who buy this kinds of games already know they are gonna like it in advance.
Pic related is legitimately great though. I would recommend it even to non-weeaboos (though if you take issue with the artstyle it's probably better to avoid it, as it ticks every box in the moe cliché list)
I can understand why you might conclude that from my post, but that wasn't what I meant to say. I simply meant that worthless weebs were buying bad game because they liked it, and then leaving their positive joke reviews because they don't care.
I don't know user, I think Mob Psycho looks pretty cool and it's "modern"
youtube.com
But maybe my standards are lower, I'll watch a lot of shit as long as there are aspects of it I really like
You also have to consider that Japan's no longer riding on the bubble economy that allowed them to shovel hundreds of thousands of dollars into OVAs and that there was a massive amount of awful shit back then too
I don't watch anything anymore, other than the new Eva movies. (Finally BDs) Maybe Despera and Dreaming Machine, eventually (never).
Finished dropping off ~2005. Nothing sparks much.
Any original anime (not based on Manga or Light Novel) still around?
are you new? Sup Forums has always made fun of weebs
I watched it on a friend's recommendation and went in blind, I just thought it started strong but felt rushed the last few episodes. Plus wasn't a fan of the ending, seemed like a conveniently easy solution that Lain didn't seem to fret much over.
>birds don't bend the fabric of space and time by existing
Then how do they fly?
I think there were funding problems. The script writer's full intention wasn't ever produced.
Might be wrong though. Maybe someone else knows.
Manchildren rate anything with sexualised children positive. Doesn't matter if these games are the weeb equivalent of "Imagine:Cooking".

Some of the best anime lately is original
>Symphogear
>Gatchaman
>ConcRevo
>Dandy
thiccfags are truly the worst
weebs does not maintain its own meaning anymore.
>Then:
Obsessed in anime/manga culture.
>Now:
Anything from Japan has "moe" artstyle.
So can I call Hunnie Pop is a weeb game?
