>he mutes the game and listens to his own music
He mutes the game and listens to his own music
I do it all the time. For games where it's mindless grinding or the game's soundtrack and general dialogue/sound effects aren't good or something I have to hear I switch to other music.
It helps a lot in some JRPGs since I've been going back to older ones where grinding is a requirement.
>older ones where grinding is a requirement
Such as...?
I do that when playing shit like Rocket League
kys OP
But jazz is perfect for shmups user.
I remember listening to jimi Hendrix nonstop every time I played the shivering isles dlc for oblivion.
It fit. It was amazing.
Every Final Fantasy
Every Dragon Quest
Every SMT
Earthbound
Some of the SMT games. I know everyone always says you don't have to grind in those games but for one I'm total shit at them and two I like to build up amazing demons. While it isn't as old as the others, Nocturne is one I turned on different music for after a while. The music in Nocturne is fantastic, but when I was trying to just fuse tons of demons and level up I would listen to other stuff. Then I'd turn the game volume back up when I went back to progression.
Excellent bait my friend!
not the same goy but i distinctly remember listening to my dads edgar winter vinyl in the basement on repeat while farming ultimate caves in PSO for Chain sawd
>never got it
>Grinding for some parts in Monster Hunter
>Mining shit in Terraria
>PvP duels in Souls games
For some games and moments it's fine. I'm all for experiencing a game in all aspects even if the music/sound effects are shit, but there are times where a game just has you mindlessly grind or do bullshit and some music can be nice.
Well I don't like to listen the same damn music over and over again as I'm trying to get a rare drop from the monster, so instead I play intense music to grind even faster.
I don't know about Earthbound but Mother requires a FUCK ton of grinding.
>Playing a game with boring grinding/farming/repetition
>The game's music is so good that I want to keep listening to it anyway
And the music is great to go alongside it. I don't see the issue here, you big baby.
If the game's music is shit and I don't need to concentrate much on it I'll just mute it and listen to a podcast. I always do this when playing Binding of Isaac
Are you saying you've never grinded metal slimes in DQ?
>not listening to Sum41 while grinding in pokemon
Only ever did it in mmorpgs. I'm also that guy who would never mute his music when he talked on vent.
>Music in game lasts half a minute and only plays every half hour.
Why even fucking bother?
I'm doing this while I play through the Hexcells trilogy, if anything it helps me focus on the music more.
>listening to Sum41
>while grinding in pokemon
Edgy "so different n nurdy xDD" 14 year old spotted
games have a limited soundtrack, but my music library is huge
why would i want to listen to the same tracks again and again and again? also there are some times where music just doesnt player.
14 year olds dont listen to sum41 dude
I'm fine with this if it's a multiplayer game you've been playing for a while. However I have a friend that will do this on co-op games on our first playthrough, which is pretty stupid
>he mutes the game and listens to music from a different game
Is this acceptable?
Let's see if we can find the bamboozled newfriend
THERE IT IS
>also there are some times where music just doesnt player
What the fuck are you trying to say?
i do it on overwatch
Imagine how fucking boring someone has to be to listen to a game's soundtrack for years on end and never listening to their own stuff once in a while.
Goddamn.
No self-respecting adult does either.
>game's title screen music is amazing
>sit at the title screen to listen to it
>cuts to a cutscene after 30 seconds of sitting on the main menu no matter what you do
fucking why, planet robobot
>game has a different song for every hour of the day
I honestly never knew this about animal crossing until I played new leaf, even though I played a fuck ton of the original and a good amount of wild world.
I have to do this with Monster Hunter, when your kill count gets around the 300s of the same monster it gets boring.
How did you not pick up on the music being different in the games?
I'm honestly asking here.
I knew it had different songs of course, I just thought it randomly changed songs every once in a while
>he doesn't listen to eurobeat in forza/gran autismo/project cars
I actually encountered someone who muted Guitar Hero and Rock Band because the music "distracted" him.
you get a pass
I dock points off a game for not having separate music sliders
should be illegal for MMOs and MMO-likes (fuck you xenoblade chronicles)
Nigg even Brute Justice theme gets old after a month of progression
I do this while playing Hyperdimension v1
noise is cancer in that game
No you didn't.
That defeats the whole purpose of the game series.
>playing the Ultimate Team gamemode of the newest hand egg simulator
>get tired of the ingame jungle jams being played left and right a month after its release
>start listening to my own shit
Fuck you, OP, you fucking cunt.
But hotline Miami sound track goes with everything op.
I don't MUTE the game I just add my own music.
Aria of Sorrow/Dawn of Sorrow soul farming
I do this on games that I've played several times through unless the soundtrack/sound design is really good.
I also do it with games that have licensed music (GTA etc) but I try to keep appropriate to the era.
bump
>"Why the fuck didn't you turn around to help? Couldn't you hear us shooting behind you? Couldn't you hear his footsteps as he got close?"
>"lol sorry listening to dubstep"
