How will this do as a single-player MMO to kill some summer time?
How will this do as a single-player MMO to kill some summer time?
>single-player MMO
What is Star Wars TOR if not just that, famie?
Absolutely
It's the closest thing you'll get to VTMB2. I can't recommend the game enough.
Shit, if it's half as fun as VtMB, I'm sold.
Are there still some players for the dungeons?
It will do an excellent job. Story missions are super nice and riddles have a wide variety.
I dare you however to not use google to solve those.
Hey!
Hey Guys!
I see you got a TSW Thread here, i'm very happy for you and i'll let you post. I just wanted to say
Templar>Dragon>Illuminati
>TSW thread
is this real life
Wtf this game isn't F2P already ?
This... game... is still alive?
>weebs and britcucks
>better than based Illuminati
nah
Honestly, pretty great. About the time you hit the raid wall/buy dlc bs is when you'll be tired. Up to then it's pretty fun.
The investigation quests are awesome. Try not to use a walk through on them.
Of course. very few people play it on regular basis, but it's more than enough. Community is great, no kids, everyone is helpful. Feels like home tbqhf.
It's buy it and play like Guild Wars was. I bought it for like $10 a year ago.
>meme spouting hipsters
>the faction
Look, i like blue like everyone else, but please. Besides, the reds have better looking pvp armors.
Pretty well, actually. Writing's excellent.
Dungeons seem active, especially now that Funcom finally got around to putting in a LFG for them, along with a roulette with rewards.
Dumping webms. Just tell me when to stop, ok?
Also, if anyone want an invite for 5 days to try the game out, ask.
...
I'm also about to start this game
What build will let me breeze easymodo through the story?
Mouse ruined my immersion, thanks ass
somethingsomething sword/rifle
Anything really. It used to be hard af, so you needed some good build to play through the story, but they butchered the difficulty.
Any? Skill tree is wide open
...
>walking into a Sup Forums thread
That area was so freaking fun. Making me want to dl it again. I never played the tokyo area. Any good?
>all quests targets spawned
empty server is empty
they intentionally keep areas low pop because it ruins the horror immersion when everyone is doing sword explosion combos every 20 feet
Tokyo is great. Too bad its split into multiple issues, even the sidequest.
questing areas were always empty.
...
name of game? Looks interesting.
Yeah, that last quest in the mountains where you destroy the Ak'kab nest used to be murder. Can't get any help, all you can do is form a more creative skill build. I ended up getting the free crit from magic and something in the rifle tree to boost the damae of my hammer attacks just enough to manage a victory. But these days you can just run in to 5-6 enemies and mash your face on the keyboard.
But I'm still stuck on the desert. Now not because it's difficult without my friend, but because it's putting me to sleep. The urban areas are way more fun than wandering around between sand dunes fighting reskin zombies.
>female templar puritan/crusader deck outfit
my dick couldn't handle it back than
The Secret World
i'm not a shill btw :^)
Why don't you go outside instead my man?
>playing with friends
>start over
>making the scooby doo crew
I was Fred, don't have any screenshoots anymore sadly
Is it true that it has some mandatory literally retarded 2deep4u puzzles that you will never ever beat without google?
The investigation missions are tons of fun. The combat is shit though.
>Why don't you go outside instead
The Secret World
I'll shill this game every time is mentioned because I love it that much. It's comfy like those spooky investigation shows you watched as kid.
Well if you're just rushing to the endgame you're missing out on the experience. It's rewarding to finally pick out a detail from your surroundings or interpret a clue from a document
Not mandatory. The only puzzle I couldn't beat without looking up the solution was the morse code one in the first zone. I'm pretty dumb too. Shouldn't be any problem for people with an iq of 160+ that frequent Sup Forums all the time.
There are here and there some puzzles that go quite deep into shit you are might not into. Like bible, and shit.
Right at the beginning there was that frequenzy coding shit. If you have no idea how radio waves work and shit you can't do it without google.
Than again, most of the time google will lead you to a side where the solution is showed step by step, so you can decide how much help you need
>interpret a clue
or learn Hebrew and hieroglyphs on the spot :^)
Easily the best community for any MMO ever. Also check out the (fucking lore-friendly) Radio Free Gaia.
...
>single-player MMO
try playing The Witcher series or any Dragon Age game, thats kinda how they play
can i have a invite?
Nope, i didn't know they closed that program.
But apparently you can just ask for one on help.funcom.com
Great, but you gotta love puzzles.
>first month of the game and players were constantly screaming for solutions and spoilers
I mean, if you're not into there's really no point in TSW.
I actually bought this on release.
I played as a shotgun wielding tanking qt, stopped playing around the indian reservation parts, can't even remember why
Maybe i'll go back but i have no idea what the fuck this character was even, so i would have to reroll and i remember the early parts being long and shit
Feels weird
i went to the website and got a 10 day trial... I bought the the entire collection for £20 direct from their website.. up to issue 15.. and got 30 day free membership too.
It was £15 up to issue 11 on Steam during the sale.... would have been £60 or so to get everything on steam sale.

WHAT THE FUCK
>46gigs
>WHAT THE FUCK
NPC conversations are all voice acted SO GOOD
Everything is voice acted. Like, even optional things you can ask NPCs about that most players will just skip. Funny thing is it's also REALLY good voice acting, unlike TOR.
>remember those great investigation missions
>but also remember the mmo aspect
I just wanna do quests without doing the mmo part. why is this still not a single player game ffs.
It isn't that surprising, really.
Speaking of Funcom, how is Age of Conan? I heard update 5.0 was solid.
But you are not forced to use these MMO elements. Obviously you'll skip the dungeons, but they aren't where the game shines.
But can I just skip all generic missions and just stick to the investigation ones?
You only really have to group for people for dungeons. In fact, TSW is better experienced solo so you can take in the atmosphere.
>why is this still not a single player game ffs.
Because Funcom saw how Dreamfall got pirated and they didn't want to make another singleplayer game, apparently.
Wait, how do I listen to Radio Free Gaia?
The only missions you can't skip are the story missions. There's no reason to not do the generic missions though, some of them are quite fun, and sometimes the investigation missions are locked behind the generic ones.
Yea you can. You'll have to do story missions to otho, but they are great anyway.
funcom hires stage theater actors or something to do their voice acting, and it shows. As in, they actually put forth effort unlike the western voice actors like Carth "Looks Like He Wants To Talk" Onasi or David "I'M THE REAL SOLID SNAKE MSGV REEEEEEEEEEEEE" Hayter.
This is actually pretty fucking accurate. I didn't care for the aztec temple zone though personally.
The last train to cairo was amazing
Glorious Aldini
I think they mentioned that WoW had just launched and their publisher told them to turn TSW game they were making into an MMO, like every other publisher/developer had tried to do in the last 10 years.
>how is Age of Conan?
Mediocre as an MMORPG, but really great Conan game and Funcom knows their shit when it comes to lore and not treating the players with kid gloves.
I'm going to start over on a new character. What are some overlooked weapons? I've done hammers/elements and rifle/chaos in the past.
Also what's the secret to dungeons. Last time I didn't feel very useful even though I was finding equipment weaker than what I had.
All missions are repeatable after a cooldown so, sure I guess. But you can have multiple types of missions on you, so to speak, so you do them along the way.
>single-player MMO
I thought Kingdoms of Amalur had the right to that title.
Hidden Game: The MMO is still online.
But OP is 200% right, should have been a Single Player only game from the absolute very beginning.
It's also a "fuck you I like this game" exception for me as well.
I love how NPCs first ask questions and then tell you to don't bother with answering. It's an interesting way of communicating with silent protagonist.
Vampire: the MasquerBade?
Nevermind they lied.
I'm guessing it will still patch some more but eh !
Thing is, there are very few generic missions. Even the most basic side quests which would be "gather 10 boar tusks" in other games are great. Same thing for dungeons: they are all specific locations with a backstory like a mad german scientist doing some experiments or an AI that has travelled through time and space and keeps talking about dreams.
On the other hand, the number of missions is lower than in most other MMOs.
>Nevermind they lied.
The Expansion content is always Pre-installed just in case you want to buy and get them later.
>dat sheriff waifu
Steam is also generally more efficient with install size unless we're talking bloat like multiple languages and pre-rendered videos.
Did they?
...
I think that image is hyping up the first gypo zone and the last two transylvanian zones a bit too much. They're pretty boring actually.
I don't know yet, it seems i only have up to issue 5 or something that probably has something to do with it.
Its probably enough content since i'm going to start over.
Is it even theoretically possible to extract locations and characters models to make a singleplayer remake with good combat?
Did you figure out that he's gay?
None? Due to the open skill system you can use whatever you want, and people do
The desert area sucks, I took a breather between after the first map. But then you get to Transylvania which is probably even better and more interesting than Kingsmouth.
FUCK nostalgia bat right in my face.
What was the undead guys name that also sends you in the past of egypt? You gotta collect some shit and travel in a pyramid? Very vlassy but sarcastic fella.
Loved his dialogue and wanne YT search the cutscene where he was young and steals that scarab, i think it was, from your pocket before you go back to the present.
The investigations don't repeat for xp though, """""""i think""""""
"Because we live in The Secret World"
Really, Funcom?
>not the crazy kid
>radiofreegaia.com
Ah neat. So if I understand correctly, they'll occasionally do shows with their DJ personalities via the tune-in? Or is there something that goes on in-game?
No, totally not when he wanted to ride the bike with that greenhorn cop.
But he's a cool faggot, like freddie mercury
What did she mean by this?
That sounds about right, I can't say I've listened to them and done any of that, but that's usual behavior for the radio stations that pop up in Funcom games, it seems. Gridstream Productions is the one I listen to, they show up in-game from time to time.
