Twitch is a streaming platform in which people can almost always find something they're looking for. Whether it be competitive gaming or casual gaming.

Maybe some people are looking for alternate experiences such as speed running or competitive play. Additionally, some people may be too poor to afford or own said game.

Not everyone who uses twitch gives money to the players.

EMS person here, I actually do standbys at sports venues throughout NYC, both major and minor. Thing is, I'm getting paid to watch and occasionally do my job, so I can't speak for fans who pay for their tickets, but for a sport I don't normally like (baseball) it's fun to be part of the crowd with ups and downs, seeing that last minute home run for the home team with bases loaded.

I like watching Tourneys, but I don't understand watching a "Personality" especially when they play like shit.

The only thing i would watch twitch for are speedruns, playing old games that cost $100s to get a legit working copy, or streams of wow raiders doing the world first race after the new patch

I only use it to see competitions, E3-like conferences, and speed runs. i tried watching a maximilian stream last week and more than 40 minutes were about people throwing insane amount of money instead of fighting games. I stoped watching to never come back. dude probably made more than $1000 in less than an hour. The audience like to see wealthy people getting more wealthy instead of saving their money. I would never do that shit though.
