Has this ever worked for anyone? I remember something by a Microsoft dev stating compatibility mode is intended for business applications and if it ever works for a game it's a fluke.
In my experience the only "compatibility mode" there is for old games is running as admin.

No, it definitely does work for some games. Got a multitude of older games I am running that will not even launch without compatibility mode checked.
