Imo last light is even better. Both are great games though.
liked the book better desu
Last Light is to 2033 as Bioshock 2 is to Bioshock 1.
The book is the game's story as is or different ?
Im thinking to read them
The over-arching story is the same (Dark ones attacking Exhibition, Artyom trying to stop them) but most of the journey is different. I found the book much scarier than the game.
2033 is adopted from the book but it is a bit different (the book obviously doesn't have two different endings)
Last Light is an original story, the second book hasn't been made into a game yet. Apparently Last Light was adopted into a book named Metro 2035 unless Wikipedia is joking.
Now i want to play the game twice and read the books for sure. Didnt know anything about multiple endings. Awesome.
I had played STALKER and i was a bit reluctant on buying it because its not open world but it seems its even better this way. Maybe if they make a game giving you more freedom will be good too , i dont know.
>redux
You fell for the remaster meme, it's a downgrade in many ways.
well my pc is shit too and i was hoping to get the original but steam only has the redux.
also why is it bad ? Didnt they only improve the graphics ?
Shit game, bad graphics, linear, boring
You bought the infererior version
this, the game misses out on a lot
Haven't read 2034 but it's completely different from Last Light
2033 follows the same general storyline (Artyom leaving VDNKh on Hunter's orders to travel to Polis to destory the Dark Ones, then finding D6 and going to the top of the tower to activate the missiles), as well as some characters being in both the book and the game.
The way they play out asides from major plot points however is very different and so it's not a waste of time to both read the book and play the game.
I like the book because the game misses out on a lot of themes that the book has, as well as lacking some of the aspects the book has, for example (somewhat spoilerish)
>in the game you go up to the surface with Bourbon all willy nilly without a care in the world, and it's seemingly easy enough to go up there that any old dumbfuck could do it
>but in the book it's a long time before Artyom ever goes up to the surface and it's really stressed how going up to the surface is an incredibly suicidal thing to do, and when Artyom does finally go up you see that it's really a place deserving of it's fear where you have to know exactly what the fuck you're doing or you will get yourself killed.
>Maybe if they make a game giving you more freedom will be good too , i dont know.
4A is making a third metro game before moving on to something else (it's going to be sci-fi/space themed) that's supposed to be more open/less linear than the previous two games.
Also, just because they plan on doing something else, they've said it's more of a break from doing post-apocalypse type stuff (which they've been doing for years now with STALKER + Metro games)
There's a DLC level called Kshatriya for Last Light that's like a miniature open world level. Even though you can beat in an hour or two it's incredibly fun and makes me wish they made an entire game based off of it.
They downgraded certain parts of the graphics like lighting, but there's an immense improvement on performance so if you have a shit PC it's better to go Redux. They also downgraded the gameplay at times (specifically stealth being made easier because silenced weapons are now completely silent.) I still found 2033 Redux to be significantly harder than vanilla because they revamped certain maps making it much harder to sneak by all the enemies.
Could have been a fun game if it was open world.
It's a quick shit port of 2033 for ps4/xbone with the mechanics of Last Light.
It's entierly designed around the limitations of a controller, meaning UI is worse, AI is worse, controls are worse.
And in terms of graphics some things are improved like better ambient occlusion, others are downdraged like dynamic lighting and volumetric fog.
>UI is worse
What UI?
That means so many different things to so many different people.
kek
i was about to say that. The only thing i need to know is how many bullets there are in my clip. And the game does that perfectly.
Non existant UI
Best UI
Exactly.
Except for the QTEs where you don't get a prompt to you have to just start slapping shit on your keyboard and pray.
it's more like 2034 to 2033
an unnecessary sequel to a something that should have been a stand alone
plus Dyakov did a better job with Towards the Light desu
Things like checking your clock, being able to equip and hold a knife with alt-fire, seeing how many rounds you have left etc.
They even put an ammo cap on your dirty rounds for some reason and reduced weapon limt for ranger hardcore to only 2 slots.
So if you prefered a certain playstyle like revolver only you are shit out of luck.
Imo a game with that cant be bad.
Any nice gas mask art/pics pls ?
>buying redux
>playing redux
You're retarded. LL is shit too.
...
My brother.
Metro 2034 is completely different. The protagonist is a girl named Sasha
If its a good grill character thats very nice
Around blacks, never relax
Last Light isn't as nerve racking as 2033, but it's still good.
>(redux)
It's demonstrably the worse version. Just trying to educate OP.
she's not, Hunter is more of a protagonist
Somewhat completely irrelevant but hey... I think some people might appreciate it.
>euro
STOP RUBBING IT IN.
"educating" someone can be done in a more civilized manner senpai
What's the matter? You gonna cry?
>wahhh, my fee fees is hurt
REMINDER THESE GAMES SUCK DON'T BUY THEM OP IS A SHILL LINEAR GAMES SUCK
Redux has less artificial difficulty, especially on Ranger.
In the original the only stealth weapons you had during the Bourbon segments were throwing knives, and if you were playing on Ranger you couldn't aim them for shit.
And you can also get gas masks at Polis station now. In the original if you were out of filters you had to speedrun the library stage
nothing wrong with redux
Which one did you get?
>filters only lasted about ten seconds on the hardest difficulty
Jesus christ, thanks for reminding me.
bottom
Dont come out like that brother. They gon' shred you
>artificial difficulty
No such thing in any of the metro games.
>and if you were playing on Ranger you couldn't aim them for shit
If you are shit at the game that doesn't mean everybody is.
Get fucking good faggot.
>In the original if you were out of filters you had to speedrun the library stage
There are enough filters to take your time if you explore and loot.
You probably don't even know that there are containers in cars you can loot, trash cans, or corpses at every corner who have plenty of filters on them.
Eh, it's not so bad.
OP here. Filters arent found easily like corpses but still there are indeed enough for me to explore and screw around. I like to explore and loot and i didnt have any problems with that indeed.
Never forget
Never forget.
im gonna need more info on that
>STALKER of Duty: linear jumpscares scripted events 3
You can get lap dances for 5 MGB in Metro LL
I hear it's bugged though and it gives some people an automatic bad ending
>redux
you done goofed and bought nerfed, uglier and more casual versions.
Both are excellent. Buy the second one but except yourself to say "how the fuck was I meant to know they were peaceful?". The dark ones version of shaking hands is to give people brain hemorrhages.
here this was made in secret by one of the designers. Enjoy. Metro music is god tier soundtrack.
>Ammo caps
>36 .44 rounds
>FIFTEEN 7.62
> but there's an immense improvement on performance so if you have a shit PC it's better to go Redux
Dis actually true? I don't really care much about graphics so performance is preferable.
