Has a video game ever made you scared enough to never touch it again?
legit scared to play anymore comp. started at 54, worked my way up to 58 in a group, wen't back down to 54 solo, then worked my ass up to FUCKING 60 solo. last game i played was the most tense shit i've ever experienced.
any game where you can derank dont want to get a higher rank because i'm afraid of going down
Adrian Stewart
>friends HAHAHAHAHAHA
(;_;)
Cameron Anderson
>get placed at 59 >solo queue down to 49 >go back to quickplay in shame
John Parker
My bf and I placed 60 together at the same time It felt so damn good knowing we really earned it in those placement matches
Jonathan Reed
My favorite part about this game is the way winners are punished because a loser left the posting team. Winners get fucked on the xp gain.
Jonathan James
the game isn't that hard, and most people are fucking piss poor at the game that you can carry pretty easily
it's the fucking nonexistant leaver penalty that fucks up everything
Luke Parker
>Playing comp For what fucking purpose? You really need a shiny gold gun after 300 wins?
Christopher Cox
>last placement match >kicking the shit out of the other team on Illios >someone on the other team switches to gengi >says in chat "remake" >does the genji glitch to crash our game >have to search for a new game >get btfo by some other team
Michael Moore
because people enjoy competition and playing to win
Nolan Ramirez
Then why play overwatch at all with the terrible balance and mechanics? There are plenty of better competitive games out there.
Daniel Miller
maybe because it's fun? oh, sorry, i forgot that's a trigger word for you
Jonathan Brooks
because people obviously don't hold the same opinion as you. you need to realize that not everyone thinks exactly like you do if you want to be a functioning member of society user
Robert Cox
So I haven't touched ranked because of how nightmarish the release has been and I'm waiting to see if anymore emergency bandages get put on.
One question I have though is how does the unlock for the shitty gold weapons work? They're priced at 300, how many ranked funbucks do you get in a match?
Joseph Williams
report that
Ayden Hernandez
one per match. Supposedly you'll get a bunch at the end depending on your rank
Noah Collins
What glitch crashes games? Is that only on console?
Tyler Butler
That's what the base game is for. You are playing to win in quick play too.
Luis Hall
in the arcade, on the claw machine, if you get in there as genji and start wall climbing you start to crash the server
William Myers
>he plays video games for fun
Dylan Ross
>go to social >recent players >report >he gets banned forever despite paying (at least) $40
You can regain your lost rank, but his tears will flow forever.
Sebastian Parker
Don't click
Ryan Thomas
Thanks for the info famalam
Parker Johnson
Yeah when I got my first 50 in Halo.
Also a 47 in lone wolves was ridiculously hard to get and I never got that to 50 and never touched it again.
Jordan Jenkins
Redpill me on what "seasons" are in comp
Connor Wilson
Dude if I were you I'd just keep playing. It shows your highest rank achieved anyway.
Check this bro. It's what happens when you get to 60 and then stop giving a fuck about winning because you realize solo q is slowly wearing away at your soul.
Luis James
not everyone feels that way, having a ranked mode allows the competitive players to play with like minded individuals
Xavier Hernandez
Every few months they reset your rank.
It also lets them tweak balance and stuff without messing up the comp meta
Luis Murphy
SAME
Quitters and disconnections don't help. I seriously don't belong at 51 (where I am now) but I was forced down by people quitting (which they obviously didn't do much in placement matches)
The system is so fucking gay and retarded that I have trouble even starting a match because I'll either be paired with shitters or pitted against full teams (if you have a group team you're matched with a group team)
Asher Wilson
thx
Elijah Sullivan
>Play quick play >some lvl 50 zarya starts telling us to get 2 lucios and other meta bs >says hes practicing for competitive and we should conform >next round were on different teams >steamroll him with 3 junkrats >he ragequits Competitive was a mistake
Carson Price
One per WIN, not per match. Some dudes were 1/3rd of the way there after 4 days. It goes by fast if you play lots.
Also, on the subject of winning comp matches, instalock your best hero if you're facing opponents worse than you. Let the rest build around you, and carry their asses to the top. I got jewed on my placement matches; the enemy team leaving gives almost no weight to your win, so I ended up with rank 45 after 6 wins, 4 losses. I tried to fill spots and get a groove going, and slowly sunk down to 42. Then I said FUCK IT, grabbed Reinhardt, and stood my jolly ass on the point/payload because I wasn't gonna let my teams drag me down anymore. Now I'm rank 55, and the tactic is still going strong, but I'm getting less gold medals, so I imagine I'm not carrying as hard as I was before. Might need to play who's needed, rather than my one and only, soon.
Henry Collins
Ladder fear syndrome, I get it when I start climbing Hearthstone ladder too. Considering how easy it is to climb Hearthstone ladder, it's strange that I care if I lose a game.
Christian Wilson
Who gives a shit? It's just a game. Just play to the best of your ability. Even if you lose, you're getting better at the game and increasing the likelihood that you'll rank higher in the future.
Isaac Gomez
How does this glitch work, exactly? I'm googling it and all it pulls up are links to reddit hugbox threads with shit like, "I'm not going to say how to execute this glitch, but be aware of it so you can report quickly!!!" I'm just curious honestly.
Nice cuck mentality. The problem with ranked is that hours of winning matches can be undone by two matches where someone on your team either leaves or disconnects. Which happens all the time because blizzard's servers are shit.
More often than not there will be multiple people dropped from the game at the same time and both teams lose either a rank or the time invested. It's a broken system and your cuckoldry doesn't help friendo
Andrew Nguyen
I'm at 69 and have been there for 3 days now, I can't get any winstreaks going due to shit teammates.
I'm not scared to touch it because I know that either way I'm still earning points for my golden weapon. I really just want to hit 75 so I can feel special and then not worry about my rank again this season.
Jaxson Lopez
I would keep playing too if I was 69. For some reason being a rank ending in 7, 8 or 9 makes me want to keep playing, but hitting that 0 makes me want to stop completely.
I guess because I reached my goal? Only thing that makes sense why I do that
Asher Price
especially since he's high enough that his teammates have a basic awareness of the objective
I really don't want to find a team/group because I know we'll get matched with other teams and probably end up stomped. I think solo queue is the best way to rank up once you're past the ranks where people quit
Colton Jones
The highest rank right now is 83, with 1 player. Keep cruisin', dude! 73 or Bust!
Daniel Foster
Competitive play has taken the serious players out of the quick play pool, allowing a more chilled out fun quick play, Though I think the people in competitive ruin themselves, there's now different feeling playing the two modes, If I want to try (and ultimately fail) to salvage my shit rank I can with a more serious play style with the couple of heros I can play well And when I get tired of losing I can switch to light hearted games where now I don't care if I win or lose, can try new heros in different ways and generally just have fun with the game.
Andrew Hughes
I have mixed feelings about ranked. >current rank is slightly above 51
On the one hand there's finally more coordinated teamplay going on when I play with my friends. Rather than just saying things like "I'm dead lol!" they actually call out enemies and swap to more efficient heroes given the situation. Also the two fillers we always have are reliable more often than what you get in quickplay. Of coure some of them were not.
On the other hand I dislike how stressful ranked can be and is most of the time. When we're matched against a team higher ranked than us the game turns into a slaughter at times and who times their ults better or has more of them wins. I also really dislike the control point maps in comp since all the attacking team has to do is built up their ults, nuke us and then it's gg for them since none of us can play Symmetra to a decent standard.
William Gray
Calm down and just play. In the end your effort will be rewarded with the appropriate rank, theoretically anyway.
Oliver Price
I just want top 500 and hopefully I get that with my 71 rank
Leo Wright
Awe
Gabriel Sanders
Welcome to competitive shooters. All of them are shit and not worth tour time. Held global in csgo for over 2 years. Didnt play it for a month and lost the rank. I just stop playing it all together.
Got level 80 in overwatch ranked up solo to 89 then went back down to 82 because of a straight losing streak. As much fun as ranked games are it just sucks that you cant carry a team to victory all the time. Sometimes i do shit most of the time I get really shit teammates.
Stop caring about rank and just play the game.
Eli Hernandez
>Competitive play has taken the serious players out of the quick play pool, allowing a more chilled out fun quick play Quick play has been pretty fun since comp came out. I never thought I'd win a game with six D.Va's or six Mei's
Landon Hernandez
yeah quick play is fine, but you still get less xp for losing and it's boring as shit after a while
the problem with ranked is that it penalizes people or minimalizes their rewards when someone leaves or gets dc
Julian Cruz
6 Dva is actually strong if they are not ready for it, you have a wall of bullets and shields making your group just a force of nature for pushes.
It's won me quite a few 2m long attacks
Robert Sanchez
>ranked up solo to 89 The highest ranked person right now is 83
David Sanders
Reminder that D.va's melee during her charge knocks enemies far away.
Ayden Peterson
Started at 49 now I'm at 57
I mainly play supports because they're fun and I don't trust randos to do them and I'm better at them than my friends are.
But holy fuck sometimes I just want to kill myself. When we're defending and nobody takes a high ground point that I can use as a focal point for flying around, when nobody deals with the fucking flankers even though we have a reaper AND a roadhog, when I just stop boosting the pharah and switch to my pistol because playing a flying soldier with a revive is more effective.
I should not be hunting the fucking winstons in our backline as mercy/lucio, but that is my life if nobody is gonna get the monkey off my back or help me when there's one on me and I'm flying, boosting to you asking for help
Jonathan Fisher
This is pretty much my experience with the people on my main team... They just don't understand the principles of the combo and protecting the healer. Even when I comm to help it's already too late, they are really just too focused on everything else and it's frustrating as fuck
It fucking hurts the most when they play way too far out and healing/rezzing them is just way too much of a risk. Thank god they don't complain that I didn't heal them or whatever
Luke Long
Im level 85 user.
Sebastian Murphy
Im level 82 right now user please dont lie. Thats not nice
Pretty sure this site only lists the players that have connected to it. It is by no way a definitive list and someone could definitely be above 83
Cameron Diaz
Welp time to wipe the hard drive again
Ryan Ross
It tracks every player.
Ayden Sanders
You have to link tour account to those websites.
There are thousands of people that have not done that yet user. Im 78 and a 2 of my friends are in the mid to high 80s.
Nathaniel Martinez
Just looked for my friend on that site and he is not found. You have to link your profile user.
Christopher Gutierrez
>Went 4-6 >At least 2 gold medals in every game, usually 3 or 4 >Got rank 40 Guess I'm a shitter.
Aaron Hernandez
>Im 78 and a 2 of my friends are in the mid to high 80s. where is the evidence
Elijah Hughes
i dont get it.
Bentley Price
tfw almost 70 then lost it all We wuz kings
Connor Rodriguez
>462KB Fuck off, retard
Julian Campbell
I went 2-8 and I ranked higher than you, so I guess you are or I guess it's fucked.
Isaiah Wood
stupidest competitive ranking metrics ever
Jaxon Morris
>Shadman is Rank 81
Luis Price
Look up Sangfore (ME), AnttrEx, and JaKe2331
Andrew Gutierrez
You guys got lucky in placements and the more you play, the more your rank will reflect where you should be.
Carson Fisher
>drop near 50 elims every game >ping ponging between 49 and 51
get me outta here
Aiden Brown
I stopped playing comp after realizing how many points you get per game and how many points it takes to get a reward. Fuck that.
Benjamin Lewis
How do I do this without getting banned?
Thomas Rodriguez
I started at 50 and now I'm at 34. Love this game.....
David Hughes
I need the number that's attached to your/their battletags
Kevin Rivera
thanks m8
Parker Peterson
Hopefully you don't, faggot
Cooper Phillips
Im not home atm but just keep those names and ill post in another thread.
Mason James
bell curve functioning as normal
Hudson White
Alright
Logan Baker
My friends are all way worse than me, so when we play in a six stack my comp rating just drops
Wyatt Bailey
Get friends that aren't casual or look for where the comp community gathers and join an up and coming team or whatever. Even if you think esports and comp are cancer, just playing in an organized team is a lot of fun
Probably rizon irc and reddit, I don't even play this fucking shit
Luke Reed
>tfw unable to rank up because ranked is fucked
Colton Sullivan
The times it works really well is when I get someone who fucking understands the value of the high ground for a mercy
and then I can fly everywhere, keep everyone topped off, never be on the ground and being shot at, and end the match with infinite revives and heals, and 0 deaths.
It is a very rare thing.
But it has given me the opinion that even a shitty widowmaker is amazing on defense because it gives me a point to fly to
Hunter Gray
>SFV >Get to 5k >Every match starts lagging >Lose a bunch in a row >Knocked down to 4.5k
I've not played in months.
Jonathan Kelly
I lost two placements due to solo queuing because no one wants to use a mic. I care not if we lose but if you need to type everything and refuse to talk, I'll just say "gg guys we tried" before the first match.
Kayden Sanders
why am i the one with a widow who does absolutely fuck all, all game
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Jayden Watson
>Sweat blood and tears climbing the ranked ladder in Splatoon to S+ >Never touch ranked again
I just want to play ranked game modes in a casual setting. Is that too much to ask? Turf War only is bullshit.
Pic related is from before S ranks were added
Jack Martin
No, people never left in placements because they want to a good rank. The main reason my rank struggles is because of leavers. >someone on the enemy team leaves I get almost no rank point >someone on my team leaves we either struggle to win or (more likely) the rest of my team leave and I have to take the loss, which means losing an entire rank
Go solo queue in rank 55 and down and see how often people leave.
You've got nothing but level 30 rank 51s on your team and most of them don't care about the quality of the team or their own rank and just want to main their DPS heroes.
If you're pretending to be retarded it's working
Benjamin Davis
YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE, YOU ALMOST GOT ME.
Connor Phillips
I feel the exact way as you do, OP. I don't get it.
Is it the fear of failure? What the fuck is going on?
Christian Sullivan
RE1 was my first ps1 game played it once spooked by the transitions and that scene wehre you fight the first zombie, paralysed with fear and had nightmares for weeks. Didnt touch it since. never played that series again up until umbrella corps.
