O_O!!!

*shitpost*

BAKANA

I don't play meme games so I don't know what happens there.

is this slash vee slash?

"Wow, the music's very good"
youtube.com/watch?v=QnSPMEMqROk

*where are the knives?

>tfw making my way back to the beginning, talking to all the NPCs and asking them what they're going to do now
>tfw finally getting back to the flower bed where it all started
>tfw finding Asriel and talking to him

The game didn't interest me much. People talk about how emotional Undertale is but I felt no emotion because I was constantly reminded I was playing a game.

>just let me get the keys you expositioning piece of shit monsters

Closed the game and uninstalled because this game is shit

I felt fucking sad. Asriel didn't deserve what happened, Chara didn't deserve to die, and the monsters didn't deserve to be trapped and lied to by their king. It didn't REALLY hit me until all three of the monsters said different things about Asgore saving them.

what are you a fucking idiot or something?
>people talk about how emotional of Mice and Men is but i felt no emotion because i was constantly reminded i was reading a book
if you're an autist just say so

The first thing i thought was
"oh its supposed to give me an idea of what it was like in the past, but they got lazy"
the whole long ass walk was pretty underwhelming and looked horrible for pixel art standards

i got a huge sense of dread.
I dont know why, but confined spaces leading to some visibly unknown and unblocked area scare the shit outta me.

I have no regret buying it day one. When the demo came out, i had no interest until i saw someone post how the guy making the game is the same who did a halloween earthbound hack i played back in 2008 just because the guy changed it's music.

I expected god tier music with everything else being mediocre as fuck, and i definitely got more than what i wanted.

Gotta say, that build up to Asgore was fantastically done. I really wish I could experience something like that again.

I was intrigued

...

no... I just didn't feel connected to the characters, mainly.

Nice music, some feelies. Bit of disappointment I wouldnt actually go around the city itself for a bit though

This game suffers from such a lack of content. I guess the story is complete...but there's just so little to do.

Well I certainly didn't cry. It obviously did have some emotional impact though. Also the fucking music through the area was great.

Despite all the shit this game gets nowadays it was pretty neat playing it for the first few weeks with Sup Forums and just talking about it. By now though it's reached its even horizon in terms of what's to be discussed and a continuation/sequel doesn't seem very likely any time soon. Guess the kids can have fun with it now.

i got 15 or so hours out of it (both main routes), decent length for ten bucks

too bad hard mode was just a gag, the game could use some replay value

>Despite everything, it's still you.

goty 2015, not memeing

It was 4AM when I walked through New Home, I had played the game since like 12PM

I was really tired and I felt horribly sad when the monsters appeared.

I teared up. Say what you will about the rest of Undertale but that dog knows how to work music into a game.

I get you. Personally my GOTY was Xenoblade X but Undertale's easily in my top 5 for 2015.

I was already surprised about how this game was playing with my feels so when j saw that house I was like "Toby fox, you motherfucker, stop hitting me in the feels!"

bump

>i don't play meme games
>meme games
what the fuck

Man thats one fucking dusty room

>Memes get made about the game after it is made
>Game was therefore made of memes
>Meme game
DONT YOU UNDERSTAND FAGET

is this truly how americans see the world?

summerfags with no personality trying to fit in.
its what happens when all you know if leafyishere and keemstar

neptunia is a meme game, undertale is just a game people meme about

I honestly got misty eyed

Music sold that scene for me.

Good music can help a game be a good game

no i get it, it just kinda hit me we developed to the point where we need to use the term "meme game" to describe something

I had a bigger reaction when I saw the lore dump in the True Laboratory and when I saw the flowers and that last log saying "The flower is gone"

I really loved Undertale, but honestly for me nothing ever surpassed

>You're blue now

You've got that backwards. Neptunia is a game with memes, Undertale is a meme with gameplay.

Same here, getting to Asgore sleep deprived and hearing that fucking music as you tried to talk to him actually got me a little weepy. Sleep deprivation is the key also playing during your period.

>meme games

It was really cool. I followed the game from the demo back when it was posted here in 2013 so it was a 2 year build up to that, so it was somewhat nostalgic and a bit emotional to be at the end of that journey.

>You're blue now
>Not his bro fucking you up right away after his speech

...

>tfw you go all the way back and to the goat kid

Undertale was great, only fault was being too damn easy

Who else got spoiled before playing the game?

While it's was extremely minor, some people on my steam told me to not kill anyone and date mister skeletal or i wouldn't get the real ending. Good thing they were full of shit and i got it despite doing my first run by doing whatever i wanted, sparring and killing whoever i pleased, and then going full pacifist

Why are underfags so impressed by this? Have you literally never played a game that broke the 4th wall before?

Neo-Sup Forums is real

Everyone who played the demo? Are you stupid, 6 months before the game had been released and everyone knew you weren't supposed to kill anyone.

Cause it's the first point in the game that offers up different gameplay during battle. The blue 'don't move when it's blue' attacks are introduced about 20 minutes before the battle, and he starts throwing out blue bones and you think "wow this battle is piss easy he's such a joke..." and then the game fools you with the blue heart. Gameplay completely changes, most people get hit by the first bone, and the music picks up right after he says it.

It's cool and unexpected.

more like 2 years

That had nothing to do with breaking the fourth wall you fucking retard, it was a change in the battle system and the fantastic music that made that moment.

that scene doesnt break the forth wall. I dont get it personally but I guess the build up to it was really neat. making a push over boss fight suddenly able to fight back

Who was your favorite character, user?

Alright so I'll play the game. What's the best order of playthroughs?

There's some shit about not killing anybody ever too isn't there?

Papyrus, dude was a hoot. Loved calling him in every new room.

1) Don't listen to anyone, bail on the thread to avoid spoilers, just fuck around at your own pace and experience the game.

If you really want advice:

Don't kill anything, this will allow you to get the Pacifist ending before attempting a Genocide run.

Do whatever you want on your first run, true pacifist on your second and then kill them all, user.

Burgerpants
Yes he reminds me of myself

>Oh, they're doing the EarthBound thing. Again.

Tears, no joke. When the monsters were explaining the backstory and the music was rolling I teared up.
I know it's popular to shit on Undertale here because tumblr and such, but haven't had this kind of emotional response with a videogame since Shattered Memories.

*uninstall*

XDXD

>Despite everything, it's still you
What did she mean by this?

That really got me good. And then the music amps up, hot dang.

I was watching the first couple of episodes of Ross playing with his wife before Steam Train. I was so fascinated that I bought the game. So I got spoiled pretty much until before Papyrus' fight.

Papyrus is the purest.

>Watching lets plays
>Ever
>When the game even had a demo

Normally I hate watching Lets Plays, but I get a weird sense of enjoyment watching people play through Undertale.

Unfortunately I've only seen two I really liked since most people do shitty voices for the characters instead of just playing the fucking game.

I heard some shit, but it was out of context so I didn't really understand what people were trying to spoil until I beat it. For the longest time, I thought Chara was just an alternate skin you could unlock and Frisk was just the default name. Was nicely surprised.

steam train is a worthy playthrough to watch, since they make funny voices for each character
it's better to watch the game than playing it, since it's mostly a narrative game

Is esteemed hack-fraud Tobias Fox going to impliment hard mode, ever, or what? If I'm going to replay the game any more I need it to be a challenge.

9/10 I'm mad

>b-but muh tryhards! tumblr told me people who play dark souls is evil!
That's Toby Fuck's mindset

assuming he's actually played 2hu i doubt he has that mindset. he just wanted the tumblr bucks and ran out of time

You didn't word it very well, but I agree with you. I was kinda absorbed into it in the beginning, but every time it brought up a meme or referenced itself being a game, it was kinda like a punch to the gut. And then the game "ended" on a giant 4th wall joke of a boss who basically said "Nothing matters, I'm self aware I'm a game!"

And then they tried to pick it up with a real ending but it was too late, the fourth wall was shattered into a million pieces at that point.

I know that feel, user. I made sure to completely complete the game without any sort of help for true ending and genocide, but watching people play the game can be hilarious shit

>One of my pal decided to stream the game without knowing what to do
>kills off some monsters, let live some
>He talks for every character in a fast fashion, but doesn't actually bother taking his time to assimilate what they say
>Obviously kills Goat mom
>Comfy snow time
>Obvious message telling him he should stop at blue stuff by sans and the rest
>He gets killed by Doggo
>Give him a hint on how he should take his time on reading instead of just talking
>He doesn't catch on, still get hit by Doggo
>People who just got on the stream ask him if he's doing a pacifist run
>"Oh, I'm doing a pacifist run!" while he kills off another monster
>Later he kills all the doggies, even lesser and greater dog
>He SPARED Jerry after killing all the other monsters
>Killed Papyrus and then decided to end his stream here to sleep

Last time i asked where he was, he was around tem shop

Just kinda spoilered, I saw the sprite for Asriel dreemur and just though "oh, guess i end up fighting toriel again at the end."
It was nice to be suprised that that wasn't the case.

I got spoiled on pretty much every major twist of the game, however I didn't think too deep about it and just played the game sparing everything in sight.

There's not a whole lot to spoil in this game in the first place as the story is about as basic as you can get, I don't know what the deal about it is if you already know that you can spare/kill people

KONO DIO DA

+ memorable music
+ fun battle mechanic
+ dialogue was funny
+ unique

- bad graphics
- sans was too hard
- I think the memes were unnecessary
- a bit too short

Nearly cried

:0 ;0 !!!!!! XDDD !! SPAGHETTI :)

>unique
it's a mother clone, and not even the first mother clone

I fucking hate this game. I will never understand how it became as popular as it did.

sans, fish girl

ok

Sorry, reddit likes that game so I'm not allowed to like it.

yeah haha user those kids

I only play real games for mature gamers such as myself. Those toddlers don't know what real gaming is. I can't wait to buy the BATTLEFIELD ONE SEASON PASS and own kiddies like and then I can have my mom drive me out to get ice cream.

The Angel of the Underground

im hot for Grillby but is pretty accurate. I was on that damn phone more than I was in battle

how fucking new are you summershit? lurk for 2 years before posting

Nothing topped my initial surprise when after killing goat mom and restarting to find the flower shapeshift and say that he knew I killed her.

>game gets released
>see a thread on Sup Forums praising it
>look up gameplay
>only get spoiled on Flowey
>close the video when they neet Toriel and decided to buy it for myself
>played the rest of the game unspoiled

>NOW IF YOU'LL EXCUSE ME, I NEED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM.
>jumps out window

dose this happen if you kill only Papyrus?

I guess I was still kind of pissed at Toby for making me kill Toriel. it was a mixed bag- a little bit emotional,a little bit fuck you Toby.
