At one point a man will die if you won't know how to play gwent

>step one
Take out Witcher 3 disc
>step two
Put in trash

Play on hard

>Tricks

You won't need them, game is easy as shit

It's basically a movie set in an open world. Prepare to run through empty country side for minutes in between cutscenes or dealing with trash mobs that only require mashing x to win. It's a game for people to don't enjoy actual games.

I'm playing on blood and bones the one before the hardest

Ignore anyone who trashtalks the game completely, it's fantastic and even with the various issues it has, still manages to be the best open world game of all time.

A good tip is to get good at Gwent, lots of opportunities to earn money from it and good cards from the various inkeepers, merchants, traders, your friends, sometimes enemies. Great minigame, so good they're making a full standalone game out of it.

Pro-Tip; dont neglect alchemy.

This is why you play on hard. Not death march btw the second hardest one.

Remember that Sup Forums loved the Witcher until it became mainstream

>best open world game of all time
Is it meme day? It's not even a good open world game let alone the best

Death March is easy, you'd know this if you played on it. All I did was spam igni and quen and steamrolled everything.

The only real tricks are the alchemy and sign skill trees. The game makes it seem like these trees should be things you can invest heavily in. Well, they're pretty much shit and you're not ever going to be able to throw more than a few bombs or do more than some minor DOT damage with your spells, so put points into the fucking sword tree.

Use quen if your having a hard time with a fight, shits really strong. Go to the question marks on the map, easy way to make money (buy selling the gear you get) and get level up points.

I respect your opinion, but I completely disagree with it. The Witcher 3 has not failed to satisfy and has in fact made sure that any other open world rpg game I might play in the future is immediately compared to it. I dare say that when I do that, it will come up wanting compared to The Witcher 3.

>best open world game of all time
That's not saying much

Make sure you choose the canon and objectively best waifu.

What are some better open world games, kid?

Start of playing gwent from the start. Other then that get a rig that can play it on max settings and just enjoy it.

alchemy build with cluster bombs is very entertaining

morrowind

For sure I wanted her from the beginning

from what i can tell, quests recommended for under your current level all give you 1 xp so it's best to do quests that match your current level

invest in the arrow deflection combat skill right away. it's only three points. also, you're a witcher and what separates witchers from your average swordsmen is your ability to make use of alchemical potions without dying

c-confirmed for NOT p-playing the g-game
GOAT
f-fucking pleb SHIT SONYPONY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Yea I got to get a hang of that seems fun. I throw out all my card the first round lol

if you use ursine armor or nothing but sword skills you're a boring fag

isn't the only difference that shit takes way longer to kill and you heal for less, can't meditate to recover, etc? doesn't sound fun at all.

Wow. You were to name 1 game, and even that is shittier. Kys

Morrowind, Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto V San Andreas. There are plenty, kiddo.

and here on our left we see a shitposter in his natural habitat

False, signs can replace swords but it takes some leveling first

you must be trolling if you think RDR open world was more interesting at all

yeah i sure love spending most of my travel time staring at brown desert and bobbing horse ass

Here on the right we see a faggot that is unable to refute points and results to shit flinging.

...

Yea it's pretty disappointing. The first few hours are rough but once you get some decent gear especially the witcher armor it get's a bit too easy. My biggest gripe with the gameplay is the ai is too predictable.

This. Ursine armor is OP, even on deathmarch you take fuck all damage.

I went feline purely for the deeps but even then the only somewhat challenging fights were in the DLC.

i don't need to refute it in the same way i don't need to refute someone who argues the sky is purple.

So pretty much the same as The Witcher except you get some generic forests to run through?

Just remembered something else, buy every gwent card you see from the inn keepers, at first it will be hard because you wont have much money tho.

Some choices in the game are kinda vague and misleading and makes Geralt do something or say something else I would reload when that happened other than that I would stick with my choices and try not to read anything online about it. I think it ruins the story if you read too much online.

RDR was dull as piss visually. no idea why everyone loves that game so much.

Play skyrim or dragon age inquisition instead

>I'm just going to move the goal posts and hopefully he won't notice.

Put a point in gourmet. makes the game easymode even on death march.

I ran into this issue. It gets even worse with the enemies in Blood & Wine. No tactics; no variation; just an stream of human bandits charging endlessly forward.

Play on hard mode.

While you can sleep around with women in the game with no consequences, only confess your love to one.

Gwent is fantastic

Use potions, they help a lot. Swallow revives health and is very helpful. Build your character around using the Quen sign. This sign allows you to avoid taking damage until your shield breaks. Extremely helpful

what goalposts are there to even move. your post was just wrong, dude. you know it was, you know it's not a "movie where you mash x for trash mobs"

you fucking knew that you were lying when you posted and i cant stop giving you these fucking replies. fucking christ i hate this board so much

real advice here

the two skills in the first alchemy row that increase tolerance and increase overdose threshold are massive boosts for little skill investments, by the time you have all the recipes those two alone will let you use 3 decoctions and a few potions at once, completely trivializes the game even on deathmarch

buy every gwent card you see

play story NPCs for their gwent cards before you do quests involving them

>disc

Every boss aside from the first in B&W requires tactics along with Shaelmaars and the centipedes.

The game has more cutscenes than The Last Of Us, Uncharted 4 and The Order 1886 combined, and you are seriously arguing it's not a movie? You are full on retarded. All the game consists of is cutscenes and dealing with trash mobs which are interspersed with exploring a dull empty overly large world. Deal with it, your favourite game is a movie with hours of running from point a to point b.

Tip:

As you level, hunt for recipes as best you can. Specifically, potions, bombs, and decoctions.

Level combat and sign skills exclusively until about 25. Then, head to novigrad and acquire something called the potion of clearance.

With all your freshly cleared points, spec into alchemy. By now, you should have found a decent chunk of recipes. Learn what they do, they're almost all useful in their own ways.

Equip ursine gear, become an unkillable, bomb hurling, buffed-to-hell-and-back, god like creature comprised of fury and malice.

Fuck the David Beckham look-a-like over when you get the chance and pick the bottomless bottle of vodka. Enjoy unlimited everything.

Win the game.

Get to Toussaint, switch to Manticore armor, ascend even higher.

Note: This is only fun on Death March, alchemy builds blow through everything like kleenex on lower difficulties to the point where there really isn't any point in playing.

>Witcher 3 world
>Dull and empty

Kek.

yeah there are so many bosses i can think of that i'd say good fucking luck trying to mash through on all but the lowest difficulty

idk why people choose witcher threads to shitpost these days, i guess because it is popular now and therefore bad

I'm just now getting back into the games since before Hearts of Stone hit. What has changed gameplay-wise?

I heard Igni got nerfed. How bad is it now?

OP do blood & wine last of all, it's meant to be played in order of release for maximum satisfaction imo.

Nothing survived long enough to require the use of tactics on Blood and Broken Bones. Even centipedes died in 4 hits; just get 2 in and back away from the curl. The Shaelmaars were the only things that didn't die immediately and only because of lolarmor. Not terribly difficult, but it wasn't brainless at least, that's something.

>equip Ursine gear

Stopped reading there. Disgusting casul scum.

definitively dull and empty, yeah. They advertised it as an "open world" game yet there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING out in the open world. Few monster nests, bandits around a chest, some witcher gear, big monster here and there. literally like 1/30 the content of a bethesda game.

I bet you think that Ubisofts open worlds aren't dull and empty just because there are markers on the map.

To be fair to both the game myself I was also absurdly overpowered at the time, so take that with a grain of salt. Aerondight, Spin2Win, and the Alchemy mutation(s) are too stronk and break the game when combined.

I completed the game, which one is it?

Play a better game

>Morrowind
Bethesda has never done a good RPG.

>step one
Uninstall

kill the tree demon

Wow, shitposting in a w3 thread. Who would have guessed, thanks neo-v mods.

And filled with 7 different kinds of useless collectibles. Don't forget those.

I believe Sign Intensity builds got hit a bit but that's all I know. Lot of UI changes with the recent patches. Stamina glitch here and there still but nothing like on release.

Play as you want. Not too many "best" dialogue choices. Except when dealing with the main cast.

>getting hit regardless of the armor you're using
people use ursine because it's objectively the best looking witcher gear and for that sweet, sweet adrenaline gain

I'm sick and fucking tired of everyone saying it deserved all of those GOTY awards

Manticore > rest

>mfw i completed every single POI and enjoyed every minute of it

Sorry that you have downs bro, must suck not being able to enjoy beautiful game worlds filled with content.

Thats the fault of ps3/360 though, if it was on PC it would be so much better (like dragons dogma)

I played it on PS3 and it was horrible, in towns its like silky smooth 20fps. I dropped the game shortly after mexico anyway, got bored of it

The ramifications of this decision were fucking dumb.

>literally like 1/30 the content of a bethesda game.
There's nothing in Bethesda games.
Seriously, monster nests, bandits around a chest, some witcher gear and big monsters here and there are already 4 more things than a Betheda open world game has.

I thought it was too plain at first, but yeah, you're right.

Everything else starts to look plain silly after awhile. Manticore for life.

The Lady of the Wood did pretty typical Lady of the Wood things. Pissed off her daughters who killed her/eternally trapped her in the tree, and went on a murderous rampage because she had slipped into madness. You did read She Who Knows, right?

Talk sort of slow and emotionless and say "gotta be" after you think your onto something. And be a smart ass.

But the competition was:
an unfinished metal gear game,
a gamebryo "mods will fix it" game, and
a niche ps4 exclusive dungeon crawler.

every time i play blood and wine i feel miserable because it looks so nice and corvo bianco is so comfy

Read the books instead and play a better game

Oh what the fuck. Where are you supposed to pick that fucking book from?

God, damn it.

On higher difficulties go alchemy and on later levels add some melee skills and proceed to wreck shit

Ai is straight up retarded. All they do is charge...

Mutations make sure you will never need anything in the alchemy skill tree

RDR only had about 1/3rd of the people who played it beat it when it is about 1/4th as long. It speaks volumes about TW3.

Everywhere, the damn books is like in every place where there are a few books lying around like inside houses with book racks...
I sold it, like a dozen times...

It was boring tbqh.

Get the aded weight capacity for the general skills. Its useful as fuck, and also the 20min food regeneration perk in the gen skills tree, it bacically made the regen potion obsolete.

>HEY U GUISE XDD!!! RPG CODEX AGAIN XDD !!!!111 HOPE YOU LIKE SHILL THREADS WE RE GONNA MAKE ANOTHER ONE XDDdd1!!!11

Well very few people complete minesweep.

Go back and play the first 2.
Not 2 first. The games that came before it.

1 has o e of the worst combat mechaic in any game ever. Fable lost chapters was solid gold compared to witcher 1 combat

And? Morrowind doing role playing well and Morrowind doing open world well are two very different things.

It's a cool game but let's be real, Witcher 3 has a better world, a better minigame, better gameplay, more memorable everything, and a better mc.

Only thing that is worse is the horse, which, gets pretty endearing after 200 hours and that quest in blood and wine and that trailer for roach dlc. It's just part of his character to be a piece of shit at that point

Go play something good.

I finished the game twise i honestly dont know why people have problems with roach. I played with k/m if that makes any difference...

What , like Neptunia? Fuck that, fag.
