So it's not an NX launch title?
Okay

>Nintendo
>actually even know what theyre doing

Kek please, they have no idea whats going on anymore, like a senile old grandpa

Pikmin HD Trilogy for NX when

How about they explain what the fuck happened to Pikmin 3?

Oh wait I know what happened it got butchered thanks to Nintendo's regressive notions of innovation.

Can it please be good like Pikmin 2 and not mediocre like Pikmin 3?

Collecting real world knick-knacks was the best part of Pikmin.

mfw it's worse than 3

they explained nothing

Finally we get some info on why it's been completely quiet. I hope it's not more complicated than what they said in that. Also I hope it's more like Pikmin 2 or at least has a Piklopedia of some form, loved that in Pikmin 2.

Nigga they did pretty much this same thing with Pikmin 3, only they first announced they were working on it in 2007 and it didn't release until 2013. I'm not expecting Pikmin 4 until 2020 at the earliest.

Would buy on an instant, but only if they fixed the aiming in the 3rd one

What's wrong with 3?

i miss the president.

It's not that anything's wrong with 3, only that 1 and 2 are a lot better. 3 lacks the charm and difficulty that made 1 and 2 a lot more memorable. 3 makes up for it in its own way though.

Yeah, that is true. Miyamoto got caught at E3 and was all "YEP WE'RE MAKING IT" but didn't even announce the fucking thing until 2012.

Pikmin 3 was great, though it did have some flaws. It was too easy to survive since there was a lot of fruit around and there weren't enough unique enemies. At least there wasn't any slow grinding for special pikmin though, which would be the major flaw in 2.

>colour splash has priority over pikmin 4

>things that weren't said
Color splash's dev team has little crossover with the pikmin dev team.

Nintendo has lately made it a point of theirs to never make a formal game announcement until it's far along enough to guarantee it's release.

Which is why you never see them cancelling projects in spite of enormous "fan backlash" like Color Splash or Federation Force.

Apparently nothing judging by the fact nobody has said why other than vague statements you could say about anything. Probably just shitposters.

youtube.com/watch?v=4ihknTHRZ1k
just add this back in and i'll be happy.

I thought the Pikmin dev team was Mario and Zelda devs working on it on their free time

hey faggot

aren't shitposters. They didn't even say the game was bad, just the worst of the three.

It is but the paper mario series is Intelligent series not the standard mario team.

Fuck i meant Intelligent Systems

I'm pretty sure the Pikmin team is the NSMB team, not mainline mario.

What I said still stands, I've never seen people provide a reason to why they feel this way.

People who like Pikmin 2 over 1 and 3 have shit taste. Purple Pikmin break the game and caves are shit.
Also newsflash, the WaterWraith is shit.

Think about it like this, they want Zelda to get the forefront attention and then it'll be released afterwards to get it's own attention with the Zelda game's hype being gone/lowered.

People think that just becasue Pikmin 2 is long, its objectively the best one. Theres no strategy in 2 and theres no tension in losing pikmin or collecting treasure since you literally have all the time in the world to do anything. The day limit might as well not even exist.

DE-DELETE THIS

I like all the games.

For me its 1 >> 2 = 3

>pikmin 4 didn't fit in their list of priorities

BUT FUCKING COLOR SPLASH, AND POWER TENNIS, AND AMIIBO FESTIVAL DID??!? THIS COULD HAVE BEEN THE WII U'S SWANSONG, BUT THEY LET IT ROT WITH STICKER STAR 2

I would agree 1 is better, but 2 still has a lot of good stuff such as the cave bosses (and caves in-general) and the multi-tasking partners.

>le all games are made by the same team XDD

>HURR HOW DUZ DEV TEEMS WURK? TELL ME BOUT TEH RABBITS, GEORGE.

You might be retarded.

BRING BACK THE PIKLOPEDIA

I won't disagree with your points, but I still really liked the exploration and caves the most from 2. To be fair, 30 days wasn't exactly a tight time rush in the first pikmin, and pikmin 3 gives you so much fucking juice you could play pikmin 2 10 times over if it had the same amount of juice.

I think if they added some caves to pikmin 3 it would have been the perfect balance. I think pikmin 2 had a bit too much focus on them, but three could have used something to give you a diversion from the short as fuck campaign.

Fuck you fag, the only way purples break the game is if you farm them like a faggot

2 > 1 > 3

1 is too easy and not enough variety, 3 is a casual fest.

They are all good.

Nigga, it takes like 10 purple pikmin to completely rape everything.

While Purple Pikmin are OP I love the amount of content it has & the items you collect are real cool to pick up with it being real-world stuff. Also the challenge comes from the hazards (and Bulbears) mostly which Purple Pikmin can still be vulnerable to, it's what I died to the most anyways. People who like Pikmin 2 simply have different tastes since both Pikmin 1 & 2 are great for different reasons. They tried balancing Pikmin 1 & 2 out in 3 but it came out more like 1 in my opinion which isn't a bad thing, but I would've definitely preferred a Pikmin 2-esque game more. At the very least they could've added the Piklopedia to it. I will say the atmosphere was probably the best Nintendo has had in a long time in a game, I really adored it, especially when it rained.

By the time I got all the fruit in 3 and made enough juice to last. I was disappointed that there was nothing left to do with all that extra time.

Perhaps, but in 1 Pikmin are so easy to get that it doesn't matter when they die, and in 3 Rock pikmin are just as good without the 10x1 weight carry, which is okay because it makes caves that are actually hard less tedius if you ever lose to many pikmin, considering 2's bosses are the hardest.

At least if a purple/white dies it feels like it actually matters.

I was disappointed also, I had like 70-80 days left worth of fruit. It doesn't help they mention they left Louie behind again on the gamepad on the save menu after you beat the game. I feel a lot of their focus was on the mission mode.

More like

>blah blah blah blah DIALOGUE blah blah blah blah CUTSCENES instead of log entries that you can read at your own leisure
>forced gamepad integration
>soundtrack as unmemorable as 2, game itself is as short and simple as 1

Do you have the gif of Miyamoto not throwing a Pikmin plush into the crowd?

>Pikmin 4 at least will have photorealistic graphics on the NX

I'll take it.

>Louie died on his way back to PNF-404.

The Wii U's swan song will be Zelda

Pikmin 2 kind of threw away a lot of the identity of Pikmin. What I like about Pikmin 3 is that they made the areas bigger without removing the time limit(Pikmin 2 dungeons), made the multiple captains extremely useful and the Gamepads use makes both managing three player characters and exporing the much larger maps better.

Pikmin 3 was a proper improvement of Pikmin 1's formula. Whereas Pikmin 2 compromised with the cave/dungeons stopping time.

>Implying Louie could die so easily
Don't forget he's the "King of Bugs".

I can agree with Pikmin 3 being a more proper follow up to 1, it's like I said, both games (1 & 2) are pretty different & it's up to different tastes if someone prefers 2 over 1 & 3. I just wish they balanced the 2 games out better in 3 like they said they were trying to do.

Also another I issue I have with 3 is the length. With the fruit making the time limit basically 99 days (if I'm remembering that correctly) the game could've been much much longer, I beat it about as fast as my first Pikmin 1 run.

I have a decently-sized Pikmin folder. I always liked the series, it's comfy. Shame they're delaying the game. I just wish they were more up front about its destination platform and release schedule.

The challenge mode in pikmin 3 is much better than 2.

I'm surprised they are developing another Pikmin game so quickly. Seems like they don't generate that hype, which is bullshit for a series with such an immaculate track record.

It's basically something Shiggy makes because no one is allowed to tell him no.

I agree, for me it's
1 > 3 > 2, only because Pikmin 2's Level Design is SHIT.
>What do we put on this floor?
>I don't know, a bunch of fucking Larva Cannon Beetles.

>Seems like they don't generate that hype
Partially because they keep getting announced in such shitty, off-handed ways

Don't forget the randomly generated map for the floor so you have shit stuck beyond your reach and lots of walls protecting dead ends for you

I'm pretty sure the Challenge Mode isn't randomly generated at all in Pikimin 2. It's horrible in the main-game though, I heard of others having things out of reach due to it but in my playthroughs of it (which are like 4, maybe 5) never had it happen.

>literally absolutely 0 challenge compared to two and one, electricity doesn't even effect pikmin anymore when it used to be the only way you'd have squads wiped out
>no caves or actual length to the story mode
>design choices that bring variety and depth to gameplay like the bulbs have been butcherd
>lack of enemies and piklopedia that made you seem like you were exploring a planet and learning about new things
>no treasures to pick up, just fruits
>incredibly short
>the sole thing that made previous pikmin games fun, that c stick storm mode that let you control your pikmin and line them up to swarm an enemy, has been removed for an auto "attack" button.
>lock on is a thing, removing all the fun and challenge of having to actually aim at things you were throwing pikmin at while avoiding their attacks
>days restriction is back because everyone knows how shitty exploration is and how great time limits at all times are
>bosses were shitty and not as fun as the "parent of the standard enemies you were fighting" bosses of pikmin 2.

it was a horrendous sequel, the worst pikmin game and literal trash compared to what pikmin 2 did. it was 1 step forward 2 steps back in every sense of the statement.

2 > 1 > 3

Which Pikmin creature would you keep as a pet?

Let's assume that most aren't completely mindless, and are capable of affection and such.

>tfw poorfag so I haven't played Pikmin 3 yet
>copies are like 80 bucks if you can even find one

Hot opinions, OP

Nice pic you found, too!

except it's not a wii u exclusive

You could get the one with the large choice pics on it for like twenty

Get the Nintendo Selects print?

>Amazon has it for 35 dollars
Retard

Well shit, last time I checked copies were hard to find

Guess I'm just retarded

>literally absolutely 0 challenge compared to two and one
This is actually a good thing. Pikmin 1 and 2 were way too hard for Nintendo games, I could never beat them as a kid.

That's okay user. If it makes you feel any better it actually is hard to find any of the 3 games here in the UK.

Red Bulborb all the way

>Pikmin 2
>hard

There's no time limit, what was hard?

And besides, not all Nintendo games need to be easy.

i find the breadbugs oddly cute so i would have one of them

...

Considering neither you nor I are children currently (though you are probably a manchild given that you were mentally handicapped as a kid -- no one else had trouble with those games), I don't see why "how easy it is for kids to play game" is a criteria worth mentioning.

Even if you did have a point, it only highlights Nintendo's decades long issue of refusing to put more than one difficulty level in a game.

>I want a carbon copy of pikmin 2 autistic collectation with no time limit for this RTS game reeeeeee

Spotted Jellyfloat

>I want a carbon copy of Pikmin 2 but with everything that made Pikmin 2 good removed.

I'd start a Garden with this guy

I take mine back. I want a mamuta

Pikmin 3 is very similar to Sticker Star now that I think about it

The way that Pikmin 2 worked meant that there was hardly any challenge (aside from working towards Louie's pikpik cutscene) as you could restart from the current floor and not plan ahead due to the time limit. Pikmin 1 required you to plan, and the Pikmin 3 challenge missions are fucking ridiculous to platinum.
In spite of this, Pikmin 2 is my favourite Pikmin game due to the sheer amount of content. That's why I'm so excited for four.

Ok, I can get how Pikmin 3 can be someone's least favorite but it's no where near similar to that shitty game.

Too easy and not as fun as 2 or as challenging and replayable as 1. Additionally the use of the gamepad felt clunky and forced in because the wii nunchuck already works perfectly for pikmin.

...

>Putting Pikmin 4 on the back burner makes some sense with the Nintendo NX console in development.

yeah god forbid the NX actually had exclusive launch titles

>because the wii nunchuck already works perfectly for pikmin.
>he played the wii versions
You have no room to talk about which is best.

I never played the wii versions. I only used the nunchuck for 3 and found it to be superior.

Probably Watery Blowhog.
Don't why anyone would pick a red bulborb when hairy bulborbs exist.

Probably because if anything spooks them you have piles of hair to deal with

Can you imagine putting a little sweater on it for the cold winter months?

Too cute.

You are correct.

So it is NX launch or not

>he didn't play challenge mode

>he's pretending not having a strict day limit is goodness

>He's pretending shoving you in a cave is what Pikmin is about

I fucking have 2 fags

>pikmin 2 is bad cuz no time limit!!!

Pikmin 2 is GOOD because of no time limit.

>People are pretending that 3 is bad for having a arcade style design

>Yet love 2 for not being a Pikmin Game

>"I don't actually like Pikmin, I just like Pikmin 2's unpikmin-like elements"

That's not even your image is it?

i'd like to own one of these little shits. only problem they would blow my papers everywhere.

ITT: people who want to defend their buyer's remorse for getting tricked into paying for 3. How do you defend a game that has less than half the content of its predecessor.
>Less enemy and enemy variety
>took away pikmin types instead of adding
>Easier and much shorter
>No caves
And worst of all no piklopedia. The world feels alot smaller and feels less fleshed out than 2.

>The world feels alot smaller and feels less fleshed out than 2.

Pikmin 2's world is tiny. The actual above ground areas are threadbare and the "meat" of the content are stuffed into holes in the ground with generated dungeons. It's so artificial.

Pikmin 3 feels like an actual world and adventure.
