Actually it was closer to Doom 3's opening than Halo's.

Fusion sequel with new power-ups and enemies. I don't want the Varia suit or space pirates back. It might be interesting if they could do multiple planets.

I think the plot should probably be about Samus being hunted for her Metroid DNA/Opposition to the Federation. Maybe she could take refuge with a new species or something. It goes against the Metroid formula to not be isolated, but at the ending of Fusion Samus isn't as alone as she normally is. She has the Adam AI, Etecoons, and the Dachora with her.

This was one of the things that I didn't like about Prime 3. I love the massive, interconnected worlds of the other games.

Metroid 5 Samus stays in the suit she had at the end of Fusion. Return to Chozo planets give us new weapons and abilities that changes the way Metroid plays instead of using the same ones from every game. Have a old and new enemies alike to give that feeling of nostalgia but at the same time something new and fresh for the series. No more stories about Samus's past, I had enough of that just focus on the task at hand.

Samus is back to normal at the end of Fusion, she no longer has Metroid DNA.

Start playin game that punishes you for not having ultimate lighting-fast reflexes.

Aside from that, I like the games and like Samus but I wish we got a but less zerosuit from her and more armored shenigans these days.

A game where Samus goes to get Chozo stuff to power her suit back up from the Fusion state and the Federation (still pissed about Fusion) follow her to try to arrest or kill her to obtain valuable Chozo artifact.

If it was a Wii U game I'd say to use a control scheme like Star Fox Zero to improve on Other M's TPS and FPS combination. I'd really like a TPS Metroid that works, but I like the FPS elements of Prime so I'd hate to see them go completely.

I did miss that in Prime 3, but on the other hand I thought the bit where you could connect the previously separate parts of Bryyo together was cool and was hoping to see more of that in the game.

Nintendo could always compromise by adding warp spots like Castlevania, in the form of portals or flying the ship or something, for the people who dislike the constant backtracking, but I feel like that'd take away from the speedrunning culture that's developed around Metroid. It'd probably work well for a Prime game though since those tend to be longer, slower and more linearly designed though.

Exactly. We don't need a ton of character development or engaging story, just give us varia suit and a strange world to explore with some good music.

The Zero Suit was honestly the worst thing to happen to Metroid.

But her suit is still basically a modified Zero Suit + Extra Bits.

I'd like to see Samus do something with very little or no Space Pirate or Galactic Federation presence, for once.

The Chozo Suit is extremely modular. Maybe that's not all it is. Maybe it'll try to assimilate things in a way to essentially regrow its armour from the more organic portions of what's left of it.

I'd love to see it go Insectoid (With a green-brown sheen, sleek and agile design like the basic power suit) -> Crustacean (like crabs or lobsters, pauldrons and gentle edges) -> Mollusk (smooth seashell), then after the final confrontation, essentially shed the absorbed, technorganic bits to reveal to a new design of the Varia suit.

If all it took to ruin Metroid was a blue jumpsuit then it was never as special or as interesting as you thought it was.

The suit is not fucked at all, the GF built their suit on top of the organic layer of her suit, now that she is back to normal she is at all intent on the same offensive and defensive or greater than what she was before.

The zero suit actually made Samus less sexy because it made all of her art samey and boring.

They removed the infected parts injected her with the vaccine and after she was cured built the suit on top of her old one. That big thing on her back with the purple orbs is GF tech and allows Samus to download the data to use her abilities.

I think its more that they inadvertently(?) pandered to a widely held fetish which diluted the good art with a bunch of trashy art.

Planet SR388--" Samus scooped up the TV remote and keyed it to the music station, cutting off the reporter and filling the room with the throb of generic ambient techno. The Metroid squirmed in the air, and Samus grimaced. "Know how you feel..." she clicked the TV over again. "Ginger, put down that exploding doll!" The hunter smiled as she pulled off the black silk that she wore under her armour. "Hope you like cartoons, boy." The grime of SR has made a brunette of her, smeared grey over most of her body, and even turned the startlingly blonde curls between her legs into a dense black thatch. It didn't ruin it completely, but it's kind of a special case since Samus was primarily a rare unsexualized woman. Yes there's always been some brief shots of her in a leotard, but it was never the focus.

In the past an uniformed person might think Samus was a guy or even a robot, now everyone knows her from generic blonde latex fetish.

Zero Suit didn't ruin anything, to both Sakamoto and Tanabe just see it as Samus weak state without the suit. In any future Metroid game they work on Samus will be in the suit at all times. It could be neat if you could go to a planet (or planets) looking for clues about what happened to the chozo, and maybe trying to find some of them alive. It has always bothered me how they are seen as this ancient mythical civilzation when in reality they just dissapeared recently or since they are somewhat based off the Mayans, they just vanished misteriously

Metroid Phazon is kind of easy but the creator tried some interesting things with it. Pretty much everything is reskinned so it feels fairly new.
