I just couldn't get into Persona 3, I LOVE the music, artwork and general atmosphere that the game presents but character wise and plot wise, I just couldn't get into it. I felt like the story was really dark, the overall atmosphere was kind of gloomy and didn't present a carefree/happy go lucky vibe that was given in Persona 4. Overall Persona 4 was a lot more colorful and upbeat, seems like they went for a much more gloomy overtone in Persona 3 and a lot of fans ate that shit up. I'm not trying to claim one is better than the other, honestly more people claim Persona 3 was far superior to Persona 4 but I think they both had redeeming qualities and non-redeeming qualities. Of course that's all subjective to the player, I didn't care for how dark and dreary Persona 3 was. Persona 4 had it's moments but nothing like Persona 3, but the fact that Persona 3 went for the gloomier route did unlock certain doors that Persona 4 couldn't access.
The music is phenomenal in both games, I sometimes just listen to the soundtracks of both games at night while browsing the internet. I really wanted to like Persona 3 since so many people I know are big fans of it, I just couldn't get into it. It makes me feel a bit sad because it seems like they were seeing something in it that I couldn't, I mean, they like Persona 4 but not nearly as much as they like Persona 3.
Persona 3 is a game about people trying to understand each other and "connect" P4 is just waifubait, with shallow characters.
Liam Lee
Yeah, I won't argue that. I get that Persona 3 had a deeper more complex story, I just really felt more drawn to Persona 4. Like I said, not saying Persona 3 was bad but it wasn't my cup of tea.
Adam Brooks
I honestly can't get into 4. 3 is just much more appealing to me.
Xavier Sanchez
the story in both is nothing to write home about. this series really gets too much credit for things it doesn't deserve. anyway, it's stylish, so play it for that.
Jayden Peterson
Well, at the very least you gave it a shot and didn't just immediately write it off as an edge fest like some P4 fans, let's hope P5 can bring something to the table that fans of both games can enjoy.
Lucas Price
Persona 3 and 4 are a trilogy meant to be looked at as one whole. P3 leaves you with melancholy and P4 is the pick-me-up you need afterward.
Austin Reed

Noah Peterson
So what's Cinco?
Evan Russell
I do admit Persona 4 is more about "waifu wars" and it seems like 95% of the fanbase in Persona 3 was big into Mitsuru, for obvious reasons.
I too also am a big Mitsuru fan for "obvious reasons" but I did like the girls in Persona 4, I'm a big fan of Naoto but I actually romanced Chia on my first play through and then Yukiko on my second play through, Naoto grew on me after a while but I didn't like her at first.
Yukiko is pretty popular in Persona 4, but I'm really big on Naoto. I never cared for Rise, Rise was your typical pop star singer who wanted to escape the spotlight and be a normal girl. All the girls had sex appeal so that was good enough for me, but if I had to pick a girl it'd be Naoto.

Daniel Nelson
Persona 3 was better imo. I think its the gameplay that brings people down, but i thought that was the best part since it worked into the message and point of the game. (Dealing with the monotonous depressing routine of everyday life).
David Turner
Dude both are Waifu bait games. Besides, Yukiko and aigis are the only ones worthwhile. Persona 4 had better characters imo tho
Chase Gomez
Mitsuru>Aigis
Aigis catered to the cyborg/android fans who have a fetish for wanting to date a sex robot.
Angel Nelson
>well thought out and honest OP >first reply is shit posting But anyway I'm actually playing through both at the same time right now, and I've been having a fun time with each. I think they're both good games but there's definitely a notion to be made that each are for very different people.
Chase Perry
>two games >a trilogy user did you miss something, or...
Kayden Edwards
B-but Aigis is a cute grill who just wants you to teach her how to love. Mitsuru isn't wife material, you nigger
Isaiah Smith
Persona 5
Ryder Walker
You only need P4 in your life.
Sebastian Harris
>Playing through both at the same time
I'd only suggest that you stop and focus on one at a time, I think you absorb more from each game if you devote your time to one and not both. If you beat Persona 3 first then go and focus on Persona 4 or vice versa.
>Not wanting a sassy, intelligent, sophisticated, rich and mature attractive girlfriend.
Mitsuru is everything you could want in a girl wrapped up in one body.
Owen James
>Yukikofag
Get out
Colton Sanders
Yeah blame Sup Forums's common practice of pushing any opinion into shit posting territory if it's said enough. I think Persona 3 is better, but I hate it when I see the same people who love Persona 3 treat Persona 4 as this abomination when chances are they enjoyed it a lot too when they first played it. Initially I thought Persona 4 was better, but Persona 3 was able to sit with me and I was able to appreciate it more the more time I thought about it. Well Persona 4, it was the opposite, I started to like it less as time went on. I still love both though and I highly hope that Persona 5 is able to get the best of both worlds.
Christian Lee
>I'd only suggest that you stop and focus on one at a time, That's kinda how I've been approaching it,I got through some of the first opening acts of P3 and P4, but as of now I've been focusing more on P4.
Mason Nelson
>not wanting a cute, blonde, loyal robot girl who wants to be with you unconditionally and won't cheat on you with Jamal But Mitsuru is second choice
Liam Myers
You first.
Parker Fisher
While Mitsuru does look like a coal burner, I still like to think she'd stay away from them.
Kevin Collins
Let the Larryfag be. They don't derail threads the way Fuukafgs do with their mind-numbing attempts to be cute and non-confrontational while defending their waifu.
Evan Taylor
Leave her alone. I bet you also bully Fuuka
Austin Rodriguez
Holy shit this so much
A year back or so I tried to get into P3 and I loved every single "piece" of it, the music, the style, the characters, the concept... but I just couldn't get into it for some fucking reason.
Maybe it'll be easier because since then I got heavily into SMT games thanks to Devil Survivor.
Jose Wood
Elizabeth is objectively the best waifu with every other answer being wrong and this is coming from a Mitsurufag
Nicholas Parker
But user, Margaret is better than Elizabeth in literally every way
Adam Phillips
Persona 3 is supposed to leave you emotionally conflicted. Like you have no idea what's going on, but you feel that something is wrong, even though the ending/reunion is sorta happy? In that, it's a fucking masterpiece.
Then The Answer came around and destroyed it. Just pretend it doesn't exist.
Wyatt King
P4 does it best. I don't feel sorry for P3fags. They're like the middle child no one wants.
Hunter James
I didn't know we had such a patrician in this thread. Excellent taste on both accounts, user.
Carter Lee
that music playing at the dorm is forever imprinted in my memory, even though to this day i can't make out a single word
that's the curse of having english as your 2nd lang
fuck it's a great game
Nathaniel Rogers
P4 is amazing. P3 is amazing as well but something just isn't as great as P4. Still a really good game and there's no excuse for not playing either
Jacob King
>Love the music, artwork, and atmosphere What a fuckin phony baloney poser. Do you wear "I
Noah Morris
>Persona 3 >not Otaku bait you might like Radiou alot better, has a similar atmosphere and almost identical OST
Connor Thompson
persona 4 is gay and if you like it over 3 you have problems
Julian Green
Luckily they're both on the Vita.
Nicholas Baker
>filename
Jackson Sullivan
And you get access to the real best girl in the version you get on Vita.
Jaxson Miller
The Answer let's them have their cake and eat it.
Artsy, effectively emotional ending, and a thematically consistent explanation after the fact.
Michael White
I started with 4 and I think that 3 is much better.
Main problem with P4 is that characters are style over substance. Yeah, they are colorful as fuck. And they behave like fucking cartoon characters. But they're so shallow in comparison to P3 cast that it hurts to look at them.
Camden Reyes
>it seems like 95% of the fanbase in Persona 3 was big into Mitsuru I thought that Aigis going off of merch and polls she just destroys every other girl by a lrage margin it seems. Not that I dislike Mitsuru becuase I like both Aigis and her.
Gabriel Miller
It's also shallow as fuck in the gameplay department with random difficulty spikes for no god damn reason.
Those games have the greatest characters, art, and music, but the games are assballs
Joshua Rogers
B-but I was being honest when I said that? What makes you think I was faking that? To not upset P3 fans? I'm trying to play devil's advocate, nothing wrong with it.
Dominic Rodriguez
It's wrong to tell lies...
Charles Clark
Too bad we never had the option to romance Toriumi
Isaiah Nguyen
>turns yukari into a bitch >the entire arena battle sequence has no sense from the storyline standpoint - let's just brawl each other for no reason whatsoever because we decide to go through that unknown doors into space anyway >your main character is turned into doors
Doors should be the running theme of this game
William Moore
You have to make a choice tho user. Which is better
Ethan Diaz
The Answer is the writing staff's canon fanfiction. They couldn't leave well enough alone and let the simple, poignant ending be what it was, and in the process they ruined it.
The worst part is that you can't ignore that The Answer exists. It isn't optional supplemental content when the franchise keeps shoving it in your fucking face, like with Elizabeth's goals in Ultimax.
Sebastian Campbell
SHE DABBIN
Jace Jackson
I love Aigis, so that isn't hard for me. I also really liked Mitsuru and Lizz a lot though.
Nicholas Hernandez
Why didnt mitsuru just ride her bike to reach the top of tartarus?
Jaxon Smith
Don't worry, Persona 5 will make amends. Are you ready, user?
I can't wait for her to be Cockblock 2: No Christmas Cake For You Boogaloo.
Isaac Richardson
>Finding metal more attractive over flesh
Disgusting, though Aigis probably has some built in fleshlight and pleasure receptors or something. Human flesh against human flesh seems like it'd feel 10x better then flesh against cold hard metal.
Well if anything you get to see the P3 cast after three years, most of them worked for Mitsuru's "Shadow" organization. Junpei became a little league coach, and Akihiko basically traveled the world for three years training and getting muscle so he could grow stronger to assist Mitsuru. Ken is in middle school now and just some popular playboy and part of the student council, and Yukari basically is an actress for some power ranger show.
Henry Davis
Every single Persona game has a milf. You can never romance her.
Angel Edwards
P I P E I T U P
D A B A B
Jack Ortiz
I love both the games now but P3 doesn't REALLY get good until later in the game P4 is more consistently good but P3 has a much stronger finish. Stick with the game.
Zachary Cook
I was mostly joking, but it was almost like you deliberately avoided talking about any of the actual video game parts.
And now that the P5 has mainstream appeal from the artstyle and music, I bet next year people will think a post like that would be from a "P5baby."
David Young
The gameplay is just extremely repetitive. Same goes for 4.
P3 held a special place in my heart because it was the first Persona I ever played and it really stuck to me. I loved everything about just the sae as you, OP, and I did find it kind of lacking as well. I think, for me, I greatly enjoyed the concept of, "Shadows," and what they kind of meant for developing the characters. P2/P2.5 really had a focus on that and then they stepped away from it with P3. That is a nice change of pace, but I feel like they could only grow sso much with drama being forced into their face. Though that scene with Junpei when he was shot and killed was probably the best part of the entire game. Too bad it had no weight after Chidori's sacrifice.
Jeremiah Wilson
I want to play P3 but only have a ps4 and comp. Is there a way of accessing it?
Cooper Bell
>trusting the opinions of a tranny-fucking crack addict Yeah no, thanks, I'm good
Sebastian Rivera
funny considering he never talks during the review
Alexander Moore
Unless the games are re-made on next gen or become available on the PSN store then no, I know you can buy and play some PS2 games on the PSN store. It just depends if they make Persona 3 and 4 available on it.
Angel Foster
PCSX2 (PS2 emulator) and the P3 ISO from a site called emuparadise.
Jaxon Turner
Emulate P3FES on PC or P3P on PC if your pc it total shit.
Jack Baker
Yeah I forgot to mention you could do what these people said an emulate it on your PC, that's what a lot of people do if you don't own a PS2 console.
Ryan Watson
I preferred it for the reasons you dislike it. P4 just felt like nothing was really at stake (HAHAHA STEAK) and everything was just happy fun scooby doo times. SMT games are generally darker so that was not was I was expecting and I didn't love it.
Isaac Powell
there was no steak in p3 too
Anthony Garcia
>booboo P3 is too dark
Holy shit welcome to MegaTen you fucking 12 year old. Stick to P4 and the fucking dancing game, the rest of this series is not for you.
Ryan Ramirez
>implying Webb isn't just reading an actual reviewer's writeup off of a prompter Do you believe in fairy tales, too? How about infomercials?
Liam Nguyen
I disagree, you could see all the soulless people increasing as you got near the full moon, and you had the threat of a boss looming over your head on top of all the management shit. Half the time I rescue whoever in P4 the third day the dungeon is available and then I just sit there with my thumb up my ass for 27 days.
Julian Collins
I am angry.
Connor Gray
No shit, but it still has nothing to do with Sessler.
Luis White
I knew at least one person would claim I didn't like Persona 3 because it was too "dark" and "edgy" even though that's not what I was trying to imply.
Everyone has different appeals, not everyone likes depressing, gloomy overtones in their games. I'm not saying that made Persona 3 a bad game it just wasn't my cup of tea, don't have to be a dick about it.
Xavier Gomez
You implying that p4 sucks because it's light hearted? P3 has its own edgy charm, P4 was great because of how bright and colorful it was
Justin Williams
>I just sit there with my thumb up my ass for 27 days. same goes for p3, you reach furthest floor you can in one day and then wait until full moon
Liam Lewis
What elements whether they be gameplay, lore, and etc from Persona 3, 4, (any previous game in the series in general) do you want to return in Persona 5 that has yet to be seen or confirmed yet if possible? What do you not want to return from previous entries?
>and non-confrontational
I just want to understand... why is that a bad thing?
Noah Ward
Maybe maybe not. The fatigue system usually kept me from doing that in my first run through and knowing you have a boss at the end of the month gives you an incentive to keep leveling. Now I know most of them are fairly easy, but I didn't on my first playthrough.
I also found the characters the town and even the plot worse.
P4 wasn't bad or anything but I found it a big step down personally.
Jose Hughes
You can tell they never even touched the game.
Noah Johnson
how is this a legitimate review
Nathan Torres
I will because those two are better games
Leo Hill
Fatigue only removed your party members if you returned to the ground floor. If you kept pushing up they stay with you. You can 100% just go all the way up to the furtherst floor available then fuck off until it unlocks.
Plus it had far shittier dungeons than P4
Zachary Ramirez
Can we turn this into a lewd Aigis thread? Metis and Labrys are also welcome
Daniel Gutierrez
Can you please kill yourself?
Mason Gomez
Haha I think about it every single day, friendo
Julian Price
robosexuals leave

James Sanders
>only think
Lmao pussy
Robert Harris
I could, but people are having a good conversation, so I would rather not derail the thread.
Christopher Myers
So I'm on my first time playing through Persona 4 Golden. Well, I've started playing before but never gotten far into it.
I'm on day 04/25, I'm prepared to fight the boss of Yukiko's dungeon, I think. What's the recommended level to fight the first dungeon boss?
Also should I wait until the final day possible to beat the dungeon? I remember something about skipping days if you beat bosses early.
>inb4 someone posts who the killer is, I already know
Jack Clark
You're going to need to grind eventually, and you're unlikely to beat the boss up there the first time you make it up there. It generally takes me more dungeon days in p3 to clear it. The max s-link guide is a lot tighter on time for p3 than p4.
Luke Butler
I don't remember but if you just fight all enemies you see on the way, you'll be fine. Only later on should you worry about what level you are, but not even by much Also, you could save them first day and not stress about it until the next person disappears. It doesn't mater.?
Gabriel Richardson
FES or no?
Jonathan Morris
Neither game required grind. If you beat every shadow you encountered you would always be an appropriate level for the boss
Connor Ross
i personally like p4's rural town more and the murder mystery let me feel more involved with the story, like plot of both games though. >Plus it had far shittier dungeons than P4 that's how i felt first time playing p4 after i beat p3 but later after i have played p3p i honestly think that tartarus is better even now as im currently playing golden
