I dont know if the game is or will be any good or not but i never liked that kind of style. Most of the time it just reeks of a company that cant understand how to properly create textures and fit them properly on a model. Cel shading is one of those things that really kills aesthetics for me a lot of times.

I adore the style and concept, but the trailer didn't show any cool / interesting stuff and the combat looked floaty. I'm going to buy it anyway, but can't say I'm as excited as I was for Soulsborne games.

I like the dev team because they made the ShadowRun games.
But it looks to me like the weapons and move-sets are every limited, which makes a game like this very repetitive.
I can handle something like Isaac or Enter the Gungeon, because there are more thann 200 weapons/items in each, this game looks like it doesnt have them.

this has procedural generated levels. there is no level design. im cool with the half-ass cel-shaded graphics it honestly doesnt bother me, but you need to make up for it somewhere for fucks sake.

just checked out of boredom, game is made by HBS, who are responsible for the clunky ipad shadowrun series (returns, dragonfall, hong kong). writing was okay, but gameplay was shit thb.
they couldn't have much time on developing necropolis, shadowrun hong kong was released august 2015.
so they had about a year to come up with this shit.
so to sum it up

When will people stop doing this so frequently? Has it occurred to anyone that sometimes, unique, non random content can be pretty good, sometimes even better? I'm not saying get rid of the subgenre itself, but that's just one preference. Don't shove it in everywhere. You want random elements in your game, that's your prerogative. But not everything needs it. Many times it's just complete filler for lack of creativity. Make a game artificially bigger with random shit, those daily challenges and such.
Not only is "souls like" becoming the next "zombie game" or "survival game" but you add this element as well. You took a gigantic shit on creativity.
I feel like Dragonfall and Hong Kong were superior in their own ways. The story of Dragonfall feels tighter, but I liked the party and craft-your-own-backstory stuff of Hong Kong more. I was not crazy about Hong Kong's decking, let me tell you.
I am excited, but I also suspect that it won't be any good. Gonna wait for reviews.
