Not really, even the main mechanics are flawed since you can trivialize all 1v1 encounters which are supposed to be challenging with backstabs or parries.

Shit unoriginal bosses. One is literally a reskin.Empty areas.Enemies are the Taurus demon and the Capra Demon little version.Izalith is again empty as fuck compared to the other areas and is filled with the dragon back from ariamis because it was rushed.

The second half of the game sucks because the areas are poorly designed, especially compared to the first half. Everything that people praise DaS for (muh interconnectivity) all but disappears when you get to Anor Londo. Also the combat goes straight to shit because of how stupidly overpowered you can get by that point. The first time I ever played DaS I was sprinting through Anor Londo with a +5 Black Knight weapon, one-shotting everything until the very end of the game.

The entire second half of the game is rushed and shit compared to the first half. The bosses are shit the places are shit and empty. The only part of the second half i enjoyed was The Archives. And the bosses were too fucking easy when they were praised as fucking gods in the intro. I remember the first time i encountered Nito i expected to get fucked countless time by him but i killed him on my first fucking try.The only fun boss was the Four Kings.And you don't even need to get the Lord Vessel to acces them.

Lost Izalith/Demon ruins is essentislly a boss rush with a reused boss, one with an annoying jump attack, the infamous Bed Of Chaos, and a gimmick boss at the start.

Tomb of Giants was okay but not nearly as intricate as other areas in the game (not as many alternate paths or hidden secrets). Nito was fun though

They could have done more with Crystal Cave but Dukes is fun so it's not a big deal.

A lot of places in DaS2 was better than the second half areas of DaS and i consider Lost Izalith/Demon Ruins the worst area in any souls game.

Izalith is an unfinished level admitted by developers and its not hard to see when you look at the details

The area's fine, easily the most memorable of the game. Trash Mob Settlement is much worse. Plus you could always just pick Lost Izalith which feels unfinished again.

i don't know, i admit that some areas in ds2 are good but they all seem so empty, without "emotions" and overall without that particular atmosphere and sense of mistery that ds1 and des have. it's not only about the area itself, it's for everything that stands with it.
