Fuck you I actually do love my Vita.
Got one yesterday and honestly cannot understand how it flopped so badly, playing final fantasy x on a handheld is worth the price alone let alone all the other good games out for it.

>Slim
Gross
They should have made it cheaper by getting wid of the camera at least. Handhelds need to be under $200 to succeed.
I love my Vita, but I recently hacked my 3DS and I can't put it down, I'm liking Fire Emblem so damn much, even though I need to finish Danganronpa 2 by today so I can watch the anime.
I love your Vita too, user
buy some games in the sale before it's over
>liking Fire Emblem
I'm sincerely hoping you're playing a pre-Awakening game
Same I love mine
Was hesitant at first because of all the Vita death shit
But I play it almost everyday
I love you user
You're gross
I also have an AL9H'd 3ds but I can't get over how much better the vita is. The 3ds resolution is unforgivable!
Taken your advice already kind user, bought all mgs's, gravity Rush and a few more. Need to buy danganronpa too
I love you too
Does Sup Forums finally love the Vita?
This is the first Vita thread I've seen in a long time that hasn't gone to shit.
I can't wait to play the new FE in Mobile this fall. Thanks Nintendo
The vita is interesting for JRPG-fans - there are plenty of games for it.
every other genre is not really given there
>fire emblem
Seriously?
Fates Conquest is pretty good
Story is ass but the maps is good
Most vita threads are made by insecure 3DS fanboys, so its setup with inflammatory shit and samefagged by the same people.
What genre is missing? It has plenty of action games too.
...
where is that miku poster with all the localizations we have confirmed so far?
screw you oled fags, I sold my oled and went to a 2000 and it's much nicer and better built
Vita has tons of games in like every genre though
CGR called it the dreamcast of handhelds
Sorry user, I'm playing Birthright. I don't know if it's an excuse, but this is my first Fire Emblem.
I guess I'm not in a line of fire then.
The vita is a fantastic handheld
when it has games
It didn't have any enticing games on it.
Sure some of the games ware good.
But most of them ware just inferior spinoffs to existing Sony games.
Latterly the only really revolutionary game on it was Tearaway and to an Extent Gravity Daze.
All other games ware shit spinoffs of action games.
And try hard MH clones to compensate for Nintendo managing to buy the license.
Souls Sacrifice was actually pretty good.
But Freedom wars lacked variety in its monsters and Toukiden was too casual for serous MH fans.
The screen really isn't that much of a downgrade, and literally everything else is an upgrade.
The only reason I haven't switched to a 2000 is because pic related is nowhere to be found in the US
Monster Hunter is just a shit PSO spinoff
>Screen Protecter
Do you really need one on it? Don't tell me you actually put it in your pocket without a pouch.
>cannot understand how it flopped so badly
Let's see the list again:
>Memory cards in general :Pricing, Usefulness, and Reliability
>Mainly just ports and T&A Fanservice pandering games
>Games that were originally exclusive are getting ported elsewhere
>Little to no marketing outside of Asia
>Using 3G instead of 4G for those earlier models.
That said, I use mine a lot more than I originally intended. Currently on God Eater Resurrection.
Also Fuck you Windows 10.
Have Both, though the pixelation is more noticeable, Slim is better in the long run.
>no games are enticing because I say so
- Pokemon Master Dan
Australia pls go
Too niche for normies
No appeal to children
Price was higher than the 3DS
But I have one, and it IS pretty great.
colored vita's aren't region locked. You could get one of these and just put it in English with an account in whatever country you're in.
I know but a lot of the JP ones are upcharged and anything lower is just eBay listings by fresh new accounts with 0 feedback ratings.
Europe linked Vita is pretty much a flat upgrade to US linked Vita.
Their PSN has a lot more shit for some reason.
>It didn't have any enticing games on it.
no one made them.
>Sure some of the games ware good.
no one bought them.
>But most of them ware just inferior spinoffs to existing Sony games.
sony makes shitty games.
>Latterly the only really revolutionary game on it was Tearaway and to an Extent Gravity Daze.
shitty games.
>All other games ware shit spinoffs of action games.
better than sony games.
>And try hard MH clones to compensate for Nintendo managing to buy the license.
can't be any worse than the millions of monster hunter rehashes.
>Souls Sacrifice was actually pretty good.
wasn't made by sony so it may be.
>But Freedom wars lacked variety in its monsters and Toukiden was too casual for serous MH fans.
sony made this didn't they?
Source ?
I love my vita but I havent touched it in a year, a lot of games came out during that time but the problem is memory card prices, In the UK Vita games are still expensive as fuck and its cheaper to just buy games digitally on sale, I do not own any physical games on my vita and I just keep running out of space with my 16gb card and backing up everything is incredibly slow and hard to manage on a pc.
>Got one yesterday
Yeah, just wait till honeymoon's over. The vita is useless.
i updated mine and my theme was deleted for some reason
> playing final fantasy x on a handheld is worth the price alone
Why would you buy a handheld just to play a port of an awful game?
and here comes the first 3ds troll
>Got one yesterday
Yeah, no shit you still love it. That's called novelty. See how you feel in six months.
I love my Vita but it's nothing special. It absolutely deserved to flop with those retarded memory card prices.
No Vita, but PSTV here.
Had it not been for me already owning a 3DS, I would have went with the actual Vita instead, because it is what I want out of a handheld.
Getting to play all of my PS1 classics and PSP games on the tele is amazing, plus the Vita library is surprisingly large for a console that Sony only ever marketed as a PS4 streaming device.
Since I already owned most of this stuff on the PSP and PS3, it meant that even if I didn't buy any new games for it, I had somewhere around 30 already available for download.
But fuck do I hate how much those memory cards run you. I initially bought a 16 GB, because I figured that at this point, they were done adding new games to the PSN, and everything I had fit onto the card, but then here's Suikoden 2, and Mega Man Legends/2, and Breath of Fire III, and whoops, looks like X-2 is digital only.
Fuck.
so someone said there was a sale but there is absolutely fucking nothing but shitty indies.
the 3ds is a shit system but ok.
EU sale.
fuck eur sale
>cannot understand how it flopped so badly
overpriced, probably wasted on gimmick shit nobody wanted, such as two fucking touch surfaces and a camera
the few of sony's titles were lite versions of existing franchises
proprietary overpriced memory card
etc
3ds is even more overpriced and full of useless gimmicks. works for nintendo!
Well I don't know man. It's got a lot good AAA titles, and the ports are pretty good too. Sure they may have downres'd the textures in Xenoblade, but that's a huge fucking game to put on a handheld, and it still looks pretty, and plays fine. And how in the hell they were able to completely remake a 100+ hour game like DQVII and fit it onto a small cartridge like that amazes me.
3DS also has games kiddies will get their parents to buy
I LOVE MY PSTV
fucking growlanser is hard tho.
and only one of them was mentioned at E3 after the first year
...
No diversity in its genres
Something that the psp excelled at
Hey fuck you user, don't make shit up against Nintendo fans, we love videogames just as much as you do... Maybe even more...
Is the Playstation TV good? Amazon has them for less than $30 right now.
It's worth it for that price, sure. If you can think of even two or three Vita exclusives you want then it's worth your money.
>proprietary overpriced memory card
This shit is fucking highway robbery for what is essentially a must for the Vita.
Even with legacy status, Sony refuses to lower their damn prices which is a big fuck you to all Vita owners since every fucking game on the damn thing is digital only.
Shit should be fucking illegal. There needs to be a petition or something calling Sony out on this bullshit.
I just want the chinks to reverse engineer this shit
ch*nk is not a nice word :^(
>finally start playing Ar no Surge after reading Ciel's translated walkthrough
>"Turbo"
I'm already miffed
so shit ports are ok as long as they're on the 3ds huh. sorry i don't subscribe to this form of delusion.
This. Just from Sony, the PSP got gems like Loco Roco, Patapon, GT, and a couple of exclusive God of War among other things.
I even had fun with the proper Fat Princess, not the shitty freeware available on Vita's PSN.
When the Vita came out, people were really expecting some shit like handheld Infamous.
The Vita instead, got a multitude of bad, unoptimized ports nobody asked for.
Shit's pretty dissapointing desu.
But the 3DS has games man. Games people wanna play, like Fire Emblem, Smash Brothers, Mario&Luigi, Pokemon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Etrian Odyssey, Rune Factory, Legend of Zelda, Monster Hunter ect.
Sure some of them are ports or remakes, but fucking Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, Tales of the Abyss 3D, and Dragon Quest VII, but they are solid ports, even if the two former have fewer textures.
Sure Vita games look pretty, but they killed it with over priced proprietary cards. Handheld gaming is the future, it's progress, and buying games digitally is the future, and it's progress. Flash storage is supposed to be cheap and easily accessible, and it is, but then Sony comes along and destroys all of this by taking literally a micro SD card, shaping it differently, and charging 10 times the cost of a micro SD card. That means feeling more inclined to buy physical, which means carrying around more things, which means having easily displaced and lost games, and having to constantly insert and re-insert games on a handheld that can easily hold them all digitally.
Your memory card should not cost nearly as much as the system itself.
It doesn't help that it's mostly PS1, PSP, and ports, and anything "original" is actually generic anime game #1456, with a story and characters that are as deep and complex as your dad getting wasted fucking the couch.
>muh oled
>excuse me, you aren't allowed to have fun with new games. Try a game us true patricians like.
>Handheld gaming is the future
It's a relic of the past, and mobiles are snuffing it out.
I love my vita!
Your Vita is inanimate and does not love you
>But the 3DS has games man.
The 3DS has like 5 games that I think are worthwhile, about the same as Vita. Honestly they're both shit compared to last gen of handhelds.
I love my Vita too. I never had a PS1 or a PS2, I don't have a PS3 and my PSP is broken, so I got mine specifically too play older games I never tried. Just finished MGS 1, 2 and 3, I'm focusing on Persona now.
But I've got to say that the bullshit prices for memory cards piss me off too. I got a 4go memory card when I bought my console, I would like at least a 16go one because I want a lot of PS1 and PSP games, even though I only get physical copies of PS Vita games. I only downloaded 6 games on my memory card, including FF5 and FF6, which barely take any space.
I wish there was some kind of The Last of Us for the Vita...
So are (you)
Lies! My Vita is a cute nep!

I bought the 3DS after just hearing about Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Pokemon ORAS. I didn't care for Pokemon as much, but I definitely got surprised that my money didn't go to waste with MHGen and DQVII coming.
Not to mention that there is a slim chance Monster Hunter Stories may come. If that game gets localized, the Vita will never be able to compete. Without it, it's already a tough call to want a Vita with MHGen around the corner.
>no games
Such a fucking waste. All they needed to do was port ps3 games like they promised with the mgs4 demo.
>No gta
>No god of war
>No mgs
>Just mobile developer kill zone, resistance, and Uncharted games with 3 hour mediocre campaigns
What the fuck
Anyone get homebrew/emulators on their Vita? Haven't used mine since I got it but loved playing N64 games on my PSP
>Samurai Warriors 4: Empires
>Dragon Quest Builders
Those are the only two that even sound appealing. And of course you will get guaranteed replies when you spend 2 hours on a post, you cretin.
I would've bought the Vita if they put GTA on it and the MGS collection. Hands down. But no, they have to keep pumping in anime shit and cell-shaded shit that is practically anime with the low quality.
Sony fucked the Vita hard.
>Handhelds
>Sony handhelds
Stop.
That's pasta you double cretin
Really? I also hacked my 3DS couple of months ago and I realize nothing except maybe a handful of games interests me at all. I almost feel bad for going through the effort.
wow, and how many of those are actually worth playing?
I always imagined Uni like Kotoura which is pretty much an unwanted child while the parent dotes on the more successful sister Noire.
I also imagined the Neps protag being good friends with Uni but later being fucked by the buff PC-tan while she curls up in a corner crying.
just means you need to experiment with the library
you're able to get games for free, take advantage of that
Card cost is such an overblown matter people always use scapegoat justification. I've been using 16GB since launch and never felt any need to upgrade.
love the vita
>weebmachine.jpg
It's fun
Anybody with a brain would have just repeated what worked before
>Franchises that sold on old hardware
>Third party console ports that sold on old hardware
>Real developers like before and not knock off iPhone developers
What were they seriously thinking. I bet I could be a great Sony Executive, both in movies and games
Call me a cool ass faggot and slap a sticker on my ass but I never got how people wanted to play major games on a handheld. I prefer handheld type games which Nintendo was better at capturing the essence of.
>inb4nintendrone
Lol no
its look so happy and fresh, soon its light will fade away.
Elaborate
what IS the essence of handheld type games to you?
Proprietary card hurt sales outside of Japan.
But most of all fear of piracy killed interest in nearly every 3rd party dev.
Games that did come out were trying to be console games
It's hard to explain. The difference was much more noticeable when it was just GBA. More simplistic games. I wouldn't want to play FFXIV on a handheld for example.
Just like phone games. I would never play a serious game on a phone, there is a stark difference between mobile games and console games.
I liked it more on the psp where they made spinoffs to major franchises specifically for the psp.
>that Start and Select button
I didnt know they made a version for fat people.
Now that I think about it those buttons are really small in the original model.
Depends on your taste. I actually do believe a lot of them are worth playing.
Those lists are basically liked the Sup Forums recommended wiki is now, most are just trash put in the lists to fill them out.
