Also all lats gen an a lot of ps2 gen, games like metal gear and FFVII were pushing game out of their roots and into something that was far more friendly to consumers by offering an experience with a layer of game inbetween. DS pretended that the last 10 years of gaming didn't exist and was engaging purely through it's gameplay and mechanics.
