BF1 is gonna suck...

BF1 is gonna suck. Not because of stupid white guilt"revisionist" history Dice Sweden is pulling or the hype not being able to live up to expectation.

It is because that this shit is exactly the same as fucking all the Battlefield games. The only thing unique is the blimp and the mustard gas. It is a literal reskin. Fuck all the praise about being unique.

From a guy that has played the Alpha and you know it is fucking bullshit when people are shooting MGs from the hip and semi-automatic rifles are in abundance.

I just wanted another good RO2 clone from a AAA studio.... Why Sup Forums...

DESU the lack of optics on most weapons means that most fighting will be close quarters, and the maps look like general Euro terrain scattered with destructable buildings; things we havent seen since Bad Company 2. No more shitty meme cities

>watch some videos of alpha players
>zeppelins are flying fortresses for whatever reason
>tanks are faster than for whatever reason
>everyone has automatic weapons for whatever god damn reasn

But it will still sell a ton and I mean who cares, look at FC Primal, Mirrors Edge Catalyst or Just Cause 3.... no one talks about those games anymore

Honestly if it's more like BC2 I won't be too angry

What are the maps looking like? Are they in urban areas? Trenches?

Looks like mostly bombed out villages. There is only one map with trenches and they're not even the primary focus of it.

Word

it's mostly rural, which is definitely good

but user, All battlefields have been the exact same game since the first one.

If you think WWII armchair generals are bad, just wait for this game to get released. The internet is going to be flooded with teenage Americans just dying to show off what experts they are of WWI history.

Trenches were early and mid war. Fighting did reach urban areas in late war. There were also more semi-automatic and automatic weapons in late war but still not on the scale of B1

Eh, I have little interest with BF1 going the WW1 route. Just zero interest, but hopefully whatever TECHNOLOGY developments they make for BF1 will be able to be brought into the fold whenever they come back to a modern warfare setting game again.

But nothing beats the feeling of playing Strike At Karkand and manning the stationary MG to shot at those infidels rushing the city.

The post below yours is literally what you just said

>same as fucking all the Battlefield games.
>It is a literal reskin
You're... just... realizing this? Like, after BF3, BF4 and BFH?

The one I got into was basically a town in the center and a shitton of plains around it.

It does not play like BFBC2. It reminded me of the Homefront 1 multiplayer for some reason.

>I just wanted another good RO2 clone from a AAA studio.... Why Sup Forums...
Really retard, did you expect DICE to do that?

Man you're fucking retarded.

>It does not play like BFBC2

>and the maps look like general Euro terrain scattered with destructable buildings; things we havent seen since Bad Company 2. No more shitty meme cities

>what is Golmud Railway

What is even the point in having mustard gas if you give ALL players MG and automatic rifles? It's not like they are forced to stay in a single position, they're just gonna run around with their MG's not giving a shit.

The worst thing is the game is going to make everyone think coloreds were a common sight in WW1. Or that everyone had automatic weapons.

The last good battlefield game was 2142, bad company series was not bad but its been massive shit since. Anyone expecting a game from EA in 2016 is a fucking idiot.

look at this fucking retard

theirs nothing wrong with battlefield. if its gonna be the same, that's more incentive for me to get it.

>This Battlefield game is a Battlefield game
Guess what, it's part of a series and there a meaningful changes to people who actually play these games. Hardline was what you'd call "a literal reskin" but it was also different enough that it's fucking garbage and no one plays it. Weird how changing the setting and everything in the game makes the difference between a good game that people still play and a shit game that no one plays even though it's newer.

We all knew what to expect from BF3, BF4, and BFH. FFS, BF3 and 4 had classic maps in them so it was bascially advertising it was a reskin.

What I didn't fucking expect is Dice literally fucking with historical weapons used in WWI.

>for whatever reason
It has to be fun for an average player

the one bf4 map that isnt a city
and its fucking
TERRIBLE

it's my favorite map
take THAT

It's going to be bad because it's a Battlefield game.

Trying to disable a slow moving chunk of steel by disabling the tracks or setting it on fire would be just as fun.

Why do BF fanboys constantly praise DICE for being "risky" all the time?

>it's just a regular battlefield game with a skin to make it look like something that is popular right now

Wow so risky

>DICE hasn't shown they know how to make good maps and BF1 looks like more of the same with giant open areas to run across and minimal cover at flags
>Vehicle balance has been off in BF4, they nerfed every single counter to vehicles, will probably make tanks super OP in bf1 because there are less of them
>Seeing that this is titled BF1 it's probably just a $120 spinoff while they wait to announce BF5 next year

Eh, I just don't see it. They totally fucked up BF4s release and then continued to screw over game balance throughout the entire time it's been out. Not interested in in this at all.

city maps are fun though

>Tfw the music in this game sucks ass
What happened to the god-tier pre-Bad Company music?

BF5 better have EU forces

>game franchise doesn't change
>people hate it

>game franchise gradually tries new things
>people hate it because in a few years, it doesn't look like the original

Anyways, I haven't played a Battlefield game since BF3, I'm excited even if it is just a reskin.

retarded redditors

I like the Battlefield series but DICE makes stupid fucking decisions in every entry that holds the games potential back, it's just not disappointing enough for me to not buy the game though

It's a pretty dick move of them to tease the everliving fuck out of a 2142ish title and then not do it. The last maps in bf4 were literally the prelude to it.

If they wanted to make a WW2 game so much why didn't they just make a WW2 game?

>The last maps in bf4 were literally the prelude to it.

Feels like they went a different direction after COD starting going the near-future route too

damn shame

They want to spread diversity and progressiveness to all the wars first

do you get defibs still, if they were in the alpha

squad wiping only to watch them all come back from suicide zapping medic has had me considering uninstalling most of the old games alot recently, if that particular feature carries over I won't even bother with '1'.

>Campaign is about the formation of the PAC
>Every DLC has prototype weaponry seen in 2142
>The last DLC that has hovertanks and the titan factory

>lolno we ww1 now

So fucking stupid

>I just wanted another good RO2 clone from a AAA studio
Why would you expect Battlefield to become RO?
Why would you expect any game in an established franchise to morph into something else over the course of one game?

There's a morphine syringe that functions the same as the defib

even the new star wars battlefront is a battlefield reskin

People like Battlefield though.

Yup. Anyone who is past being a gamer grill would have a ton of fun figuring out how they will take down a tank with bolt actions, teargas and a maxim. Having to actually use tactics and cummincation, you know?

But nah let's just make up some alternate history and throw in some semi auto rifles, an rpg or two for each "faction" and call it a fuckin day. Oh yeah and then Premium. Kek.

watch someone respond to this seriously

Because red orchestra tries to focus on the whole large squads of bolt action foot soldiers with limited specialised roles.

This is just going to be BF2 with some fucking mustard gas

Honestly I think it'll have a positive effect on WW1 knowledge, though that says more about the dire state of the public's knowledge than anything about the game. Most people can't name the combatants beyond US/UK/France vs Germany, and a not insignificant portion of people don't even know when it started or ended. I learnt about the Zaamurets from it at least.

But it is the pre-BC style of music. No techno or dubstep here.

>literally fucking with historical weapons used in WWI.
Would you like to show me where there are inaccuracies in the depiction of the weapons? Beyond the presence of a prototype Lee Enfield sight on a lot of the guns, and the M1907 having too small a magazine for its ammo capacity, I'm not seeing anything inaccurate here.

They did it because all the CoD-babbies were crying about there being too many sci-fi shooters.

thanks user. no more 'how are you even alive, you have no skull' 's for me.

>game franchise doesn't change
>people hate it
>game franchise gradually tries new things
>people hate it because in a few years, it doesn't look like the original

The problem here is that DICE changes what is good and doesn't change what is bad, BF1 so far looks like all of the worst parts of BF3 and 4 just with a """"WW1""" skin slapped onto it. Hardline specifically brought in a lot of great mechanics and yet none of them are present in BF1, you've also got the timeframe not really allowing for great kit balance so things like an engineer class are totally removed. Map design is probably their biggest fault and everything shown thus far confirms that they still like large open spaces surrounding each objective, gameplay wise it's a total mess and not all that fun when you're only option is to sprint across open ground or your team gets spawn camped because you have nowhere to go.

Ontop of all of this they completely removed spawning mechanics in BF4 and it looks like BF1 didn't see them re-implemented, players spawn randomly in their designated area even if it's directly infront or behind of an enemy.

BF4 has amazing vehicle balance, get good.
It has the best vehicle balance in the series.

t. overly optimistic

I don't get why you faggots keep lying to yourself. If you have played every BF from BFBC to now (older ones don't reflect the obvious route DICE has taken), then you know that this OMG BFBC2 element!!!!111 shit doesn't exist. You cucks said the same shit in BF3, 4, Hardline, and now this. For fucks sake. DICE went on record saying they have 0 fucking clue about how BFBC2 was great. We will NEVER. NEVER FUCKING EVER. Get another BFBC game that played like a BFBC game, not even it's elements.

This game is gonna be a reskin of BF4
>tfw people think this broken mess is a good game
>tfw it is a shitshow of a game and sucks in nearly every goddamn aspect

Here is what the game is. Reskin BF4, keep shit map design, millions of guns meme when only 3 are useful, classes not playing how they should be because DICE doesn't know what the fuck they are doing (expect medic to be the go to class for the 4th straight game), explosive spam? come on down!, and my favorite, potato and duct tape servers.

BFBC2 was the game that put this series on the map for casuals and hardcore alike, it was also the last good one that had done everything right. The series is casual trash now. Never forget.

>we want the casual COD crowd

Are you saying

>all around me are familiar faces..worn out places..

Isn't amazing music? Get real dude, the nostalgia is fuckin with your head.

>______ is just ________ but with ________
there's the door

I blame COD.

Cause RO proved bolt action rifle combat could be done.

Other than Halo there are no real Sci-fi shooters

unless you consider the exo-suit shit sci-fi which is retarded

>Nobody is using a bolt
>WW1

The only thing really pissing me off is the firepower and accuracy of those fucking guns. These things were basically one step above shitty western repeaters, and in BF1 they're fucking sniper rifles.

The whole point of WWI was mobility outclassed armaments. It was much easier to move than it was to shoot. The main purpose of the trenches and no man's land was to bog down troops so they could shoot them without missing. Almost every aspect of combat revolved around cqc. Gas, shotguns, and shelling were all effective because of this fact.

Not only is it a reskin, it's a reskin with far less gameplay options due to the time period it's trying to emulate.

Game is going to be complete shit.

>This is just going to be BF2 with some fucking mustard gas
It's more of a mixture of Battlefield 4 and Battlefront mechanics in a WW1 skin.

So far it's the best battlefield. Less spammy, looks the best, has all the good features of past games + some such as climbing over most walls and not needing to open a parachute for every jump out a window, and has a large open map with lots of places for close combat. It has better spawning mechanics around objectives. Also the weather effects on maps, clear, fog, rain are pretty sweet.

As long as the full game has lots of maps and not 6 you play over and over it'll be great. Probably get it once DLC has been released or some keyreseller steals a bunch.

>unless you consider the exo-suit shit sci-fi which is retarded
That's near-fufture at most, we already have prototype exosuits right now.

>Would you like to show me where there are inaccuracies in the depiction of the weapons? Beyond the presence of a prototype Lee Enfield sight on a lot of the guns, and the M1907 having too small a magazine for its ammo capacity, I'm not seeing anything inaccurate here.
I am not talking about the complex nature of guns. Yeah past guns were shit. I am talking about standard semi-auto guns and automatic guns being in abundance in WWI.

What is wrong with standard Bolt-Action rifles that were actually used by the common soldier in WWI?

>people pretend they want realism in vidya
You don't though or else you wouldn't be playing video games. If people wanted realistic shooters then RO2, Insurgency, and ARMA would be on most played lists, not CS:GO and TF2

Also, no AAA company has made a remotely pseudo-realistic FPS.

Is mayonaise gas a weapon?

people like world at war and it had even more bolt action guns than this game will, I don't know why devs love to coddle so much, just give people the benefit of the doubt that they might enjoy something different, it's battlefield, people will buy it regardless.

>The whole point of WWI was mobility outclassed armaments.

Does BF1 really lack semi-auto rifles or is this just another meme?

Stop posting this shitty bait in every BF1 thread.

Black Ops 3 was obviously Sci-fi, it literally had a fucking insane AI/virus that was fucking with your mind through a god damn neural link.

there are semi-autos but everyone and their mother are using the automatic weapons if all the alpha gameplay is anything to go by

The medic class uses self-loading rifles.

>far less gameplay options
>due to the time period it's trying to emulate
That isn't stopping DICE at all.

>If people wanted realistic shooters then RO2, Insurgency, and ARMA would be on most played lists,
Arma 3 is consistently in the top 15 most played games on Steam m8.

Another kid trying to prove he is an expert in WWI.

>What is wrong with standard Bolt-Action rifles that were actually used by the common soldier in WWI?

because it's BOOOOORING for the modern gamer

from what I have seen in alpha videos, no

but why bother with something thats not automatic when you can just spray and pray

Cavalry was still used, along with tanks. The tactic of bum rushing opponents completely subverted the usual stand still planned battle nonsense.

Someone charging you from 15 yards away with pic related had the advantage due to gun jamming and weapon accuracy.

Show the comparison in numbers to the other games I stated. May as well be an ocean of difference

The modern gamer is retarded, so that's a good thing.

>had even more bolt action guns than this game will
>CoD-WaW had 4 bolt actions
>Bolt actions confirmed for BF1
>Springfield
>Mauser 98
>Lee-Enfield
>Mannlicher M1895
I didn't count the lever action because it doesn't count.
They haven't even revealed the entire weapons list and everyone is already crapping their pants.

>15 yards
>weapon accuracy

yeah im sure its going to skew 45 degrees off

>As long as the full game has lots of maps and not 6 you play over and over it'll be great.
9 maps, plus possibly at least one free one after release.

You said "fucking with historical weapons". I assumed you were talking about inaccuracies in the guns themselves, not the lack of bolt actions beyond the Scout class.

Your point? DICE and EA will never target the audience of those games.

DICE will never make a RO clone, when are you stupid fucks going to get it through your skulls, ever since BF1 was announced I've seen droves and droves of retards saying "ZOMG RED ORCHESTRAFIELD BASED DICE" then when it's shown that it's just another fucking battlefield game (as should be, mind you) you start crying and saying that DICE has forsaken you and shit.

Like, seriously, how retarded do you have to be to expect DICE and EA to make a AAA shooter that's anything like RO AT ALL. Battlefield is a fucking ARCADE SHOOTER series, why in the name of hell would it suddenly morph into a realistic borderline milsim game?
Are you really that delusional?

>this faggot baiting in every BF1 thread with the same pictures and pasta

Only useful if you can get into the trench, and that's the hard part. The reason trench warfare developed was because it was too easy to sit there and just shoot everybody who attacked with a machine gun. Or just bomb them with artillery.

>RO2
>Realistic
Kek.
I mention RO2 because it is a game where bolt-action rifles were the common weapon and was actually fun.

But DICE want the modern gamer to buy their game, they're a AAA studio, they don't give a fuck about "hardcore" players, they want the CoD kiddies and other causals.

Literally within spitting distance, and it's often in the top 10.
Not my fault that you're a casual, stick to consoles where you belong.
>RO2
>realistic milsim
You dumb nigger, RO2 is borderline arcade, hell, it even has arcade modes.

getting into a trench was actually relatively easy
the impossible part was actually holding and defending a captured trench against the counter assault because trenches were intentionally designed to be as easy to capture from the rear as possible

>This game isn't what I expected so it's going to be shit

I'm convinced this entire board is delusional. The majority just want to fit in with the hive mind so they just spout all the memes and jump on every hype train that rolls in.

It's frightening considering most are real people typing this shit.

>One Verdun thread from 10 hours ago is every BF1 thread

Dude, you bait isn't even clever, let alone popular.

Think about how righteous a modern Titan mode would be if they did 2143 instead of ww1.

>No hover vehicles
>No in atmosphere space ships to board
>No mechs

No thanks.
Seriously I thought that's why they didn't have ground to space combat in battlefront, i thought they were saving it for 2143
