>Every business becomes a Gym or Pokestop

Good god, when everyone is a gym leader...no one will be

I think its legit.

The places that want Nintenyear olds get them and places that don't want them can keep them away.

As an added bonus they can steer people away from nigger infested zones if they want to.

My restaurant is a Pokestop or whatever you call it and it's fucking annoying having all these losers come in, taking up space, and using the restrooms just so they can get some digital animal.

Nintendo will start chargeing for retail stores and restaurants and other places to become gyms. There will be ads on your map to the nearest gym/highest paying ad. Beat the gym leader and get 10% off your order

Now that's smart and makes senses. And I wouldn't be surprised if people went there to buy a drink or whatnot just to catch some pokemons.

time to get a gps jammer and buy some used routers

This shit is getting a bit scary.

this. after walking udner the sun, a poke stop inside an store mean people are likely to get hungry and buy shit

Damn. Pokemon is fucking revolutionizing the world with just one app.

Tell me the name of your resturant. I need to take a big fat dump in your bathroom.

It looks like a Baskin Robins

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

its a Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen

This.

Sounds like a shitty paid-for UPS Access Point service.

Tldr UPS offers business owners to become Access Points, where UPS drops off packages for people who can't sign for then for nearby residential, and a place to drop off sending prepaid packages.

The business receives no money, nor UPS, but this gets people IN THE DOOR, which is what you want in retail or etc. Once people are inside they'll probably buy something too.

Symbiosis

It looks like a Gas Station actually, Dairy Queen is kind of pushing it.

Well as you can tell you can't get into the bathroom if you're not a paying customer either.

>DQ logo on the door
How did you make that post when you're blind?

It is just a DQ Gift Card, arn't those like those Visa Gift Cards?

Isn't that copyright infringement? A business is using a copyrighted character to draw in customers. Is it okay because they're promoting the game? I'll never understand this copyright bullshit and how it works.

I don't think it is a problem, their place is being used as PokeStop which will fill with retards anyway.

Augmented reality is a game changer.

It is not the same as a shop selling Chinese bootleg Pikachus.

> Is it okay because they're promoting the game?
It is up to the company I think. Most companies think this way. That is why there are gaming twitch and youtube channels.
Nintendo is run by retarded old men though, so who knows.

Maybe it's time to quit your job at dq and get an adult job, kiddo.

The Pokemon Company is not controlled by Nintendo.

Nintendo doesn't even have a controlling interest in the company.

I'm the manager, you fucking scrub. It pays well, I get free food, and full benefits.

I shit you not, I live in NYC, not the rich parts at all and I heard a guy blasting the Pokemon theme in his car through the neighborhood while looking at his phone. I could only assume he was playing the app.

The hell is going on? I don't think even Nintendo anticipated this phenomena

Nintendo owns the Pokemon Brand as much as POKEMON company does. and they manage most of the pokemon when it comes to vidya

>work at a large hospital
>3 gyms and several pokestops throughout
>walk around the halls and laugh with coworkers on breaks
>kids visiting and as patients get to catch some pokes

The humor isn't lost on me that the Cancer Survivor Memorial Tree is a Gym.

>I heard a guy blasting the Pokemon theme in his car through the neighborhood while looking at his phone

>inb4 Nintendo enables a Service where paying locations can become Stops or even Gyms.

It's really not Nintendo in control here, but Niantics. They probably won't, since Ingress was entirely free, and landmarks were all user-contributed. They only paused requests because of the upcoming Pokemon Go release.

However, I don't support having businesses, like your every day grocery store, as a pokestop. It should be monuments, murals, and other interesting things within the area.

>The humor isn't lost on me that the Cancer Survivor Memorial Tree is a Gym

There's nothing funny about that you edgy fuck.

If i see some fatass faggot dweeb pointing his phone at me im going to slap the phone out of his hands. I only ever lifted for aesthetics and health but now it might actually have some use outside of opening jars easier.

Smart phones are doing their job.
Best way to market anything is by having some sort of game or app. People now are going to be going on a pokemon craze, like it was in the 90s.

>It's really not Nintendo in control here, but Niantics
implying Niantic is not just hte code monkey and if Nintendo tell em to enable x or Y place as a poke stop they would

Man this is just flat out insane though. I expected it to start okay but jesus christ this thing has exploded way more than anyone expected...we are genuinely witnessing what could potentially be the spark for the future of not only a number of games but for some tech advancement in general when companies start R&D'ing around this shit, both good and bad though. Better Wifi, more open Wifi, AR integration becoming more common, the marketing companies are jumping all over this shit, people are actually getting off their asses and exploring and making friends(and eventually enemies when korea-level rivalries start happening, especially when pvp is added), and that's just the fucking tip of this iceberg.

The question is, when will the Poketanic show p and hit it?

>The Pokemon Company is not controlled by Nintendo
lol sure

whelp, pokemon go players are officially making my job more difficult

>people are actually getting off their asses and exploring and making friends
t. normalfags

UPS?

I really hope you aren't right. It would kill a lot of the interest for me. Ingress was, and still is fun because of discovering different forms of art and landmarks in the area. If Pokemon Go just turns into "VISIT THIS BUSINESS FOR FREE POKEBALLS OH YEAH YOU CAN ALSO BUY SHIT HERE" then it'll kill a lot of the interest. Albeit, there are some landmarks that are business related, but the game isn't riddled with it, and in most cases, they're long-lasting, family businesses.

t. Sup Forumsirgin scared of losing his shitposting buddies and virginity

>number of games
hardly. the main seller of this is that IS BLOODY POKEMON

you can make a ap 1:1 copy but with other assets and it wont likely have the same impact. I dont even think Digimon would have this lvl of craze

You've probably gotta learn a bit of gallows humor to work in a hospital. Otherwise it's just bleak.

Thats a big up

Cabela's, an Outdoorsman-style store that sells guns, ammo, bows, arrows, fishing stuff, and is full of hundreds of taxidermied animals and shit(and also sells awesome in-house-made fudge), has a location that not only is a Gym, but has 3 pokestops -inside- it.

I talked to their staff and not only do they play it to(and farm the shit out of their stops), but they're getting way more customers, many of which also bug them to let them charge their phones there since this started.

Those soap and sanitizer buckets being there is against health code. They should never be placed on food contact surfaces and always on the floor. Yes, garbage receptacles count as a food contact surface.

True on that, but I'm talking tech use and advancement in general, not just "similar games" - we already know copies don't work because Ingress didn't do that great. They slap pokemon on and bam, huge craze. But this popularity leads to development and advancement, just like the Porn industry is our best bet of VR ever taking off.

I actually really like the idea of this.
Maybe now I could actually meet a cute girl or something.

"D-do you like m-my Pokemon, I caught them all myself."

Okay kiddo

4UPS

HOLY FUCK!

user!
Now that you mention it, (NYC guy here), this shit launched right around the time those free Wifi tomes (and subway wifi) became installed around the city.
>pic related
These are everywhere now

Filthy Frank was right. This is the end.

my brother works at a resturaunt, part of it has a hotel and said people keep on coming in to use the poke spot

check out these pokemon lures.

The problem is, 90% or more of the population sees Pokemon and instantly thinks "Nintendo". Only the few that play the games to see how it's written, and look up info online, know it's a separate company. Hell, some people see "Nintendo - The Pokemon Company" on the title/intro or credits or box or whatever and assume it means "Nintendo: The Pokemon Company", not that "The POkemon Company" is a separate entity. That's their own fault for poor branding and design though, and because Nintendo's marketing makes it seems like completely their IP.

>tfw Jared's missing out

>90% or more of the population sees Pokemon and instantly thinks "Nintendo"
cause Nintendo is the one in charge of 99% of what is the games related. and when people think in pokemon the order is Games > Anime > Cards > Figure

so you figure it out

>Hey kids, come to subway and help me lose a few pounds!
kek

>of muk

No.

the type of people that play these games are the type of people that get bored, fast.

Do you even fucking remember Flappy Bird?

The only reason this is successful is because of the Brand.

They'll be imitators. But they'll all fail.

I'm pretty sure this was already the case with Niantic's last game Ingress where businesses would pay to become points of interest. Don't see why they wouldn't apply it to GO.

It's a meme you dip youtube.com/watch?v=dRnKORlf-DU

is not the same game tho,. angry bids and flappy were minutes killer games and autism. PKM G actually requires you to move around walk. etc. its a higher lvl of commitment and dedication

Normally, I would completely agree with you, and saw the same shit happen with other things. But something about this is different. It's not just in-community hype, this shit is reaching fucking businesses and law enforcement. Everyone. It's still entirely posisble you'll be right, but I'm curious to see where this goes, there's clearly a spark here but whether it goes out or burns bright is something only time will show.

They would be stupid not to. Pokemon Go is fucking huge right now and its only going to get bigger. Mormon temples could pay top dollar and have Pokemon players have to come into their church and listen to a sermon before they could catch their pokemon.

Jared you have to do more than just show your teeth for it to count as a smile you soulless fat fuck.

Good luck enforcing it, you don't even have to be inside 90% of the locations. I'll just say it's fake and gay, some idiot put it up at closing to take a picture

Having pre-catch requirements like that or buying things will only kill it and will NOT work. A few might, but the majority won't, they'll just hug the walls around the building or some shit to get it. People would sooner climb the fucking roof if it's a 1-2 story building than pay.

>world is on fire
>only thing able to get young people to do something is a motherfucking pokemon app

I hate life

Fucking retard. This is literally how it works. Businesses paid to be a part of Ingress, now those locations are Pokemon Go.

There are cafes in new york using lures during slow times to boost sales and its working like crazy, drop like $5 on the microtransactions for a near instant $200+ sales boost. This has so much potential

Some cop motherfucker saw me use my cell jammer and said "he'd let me off with a warning because [I] kept some reds out of his gym"

>How do we get the younger generation to vote?
>Political Pokemon Party 2016
>Battle your Hilarino against the enemy's Dotrumpo
>Hilarino used Feminist Agenda! It's not very effective.
>Dotrumpo uses Racism! It's super effective! Dotrumpo's Support was raised, somehow.

Good justification for being an edgy fuck.

This is one of those things people will stereotype the 10's as.

>haha, remember planking?
>And that pokemon Go fad?

There will be a "That' Millennial show" taking place during this time, and they'll have Pokemon Go episodes.

>feminism good
>racism bad

Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures set up The Pokémon Company themselves to help manage the brand worldwide, it was just an easier way for them to deal with their tri-hold on the copyright. Nintendo own both the name and the characters themselves however, so the other two couldn't do dick without their say so.

Joke's on you, they already tried making a "That 80s show" and even "That 00's show" and both flopped hard.

Where the fuck did I suggest feminism was good? It wasn't effective, aka it's shit. Meanwhile, Trump spews racism and somehow he's still popular. Neither is good, they're both fucking horrible people as is the entire current feminist movement.

>remember that time people fell off buildings and severely injured themselves?
>remember the time people walked into oncoming traffic and got robbed?
Can't wait.

>beeing a restaurant manager

Did you fail highschool?

Illegal isnt a race, so try again. You also have to say why racism is bad

>Trump
>racist
do you have a source or just following the narrative?

Which means the dregs of people playing it will get bored and stop playing even sooner.

No. You're looking down a tunnel and drinking the punch.

Pokemon itself is/was a cultural phenomena.

Take that away from this and you have nothing.

These businesses and shit you see circle jerking about it are scared and desperate to entertain and capture the current market. The same 30-second attention span market that's going to drop this game in a week.

Then dont play shitty kids pokemon phone games

Its not even good

my dad did 21 years in the marines then was a restuarant manager. He didn't do free college, but oh well, he's fine with it.

>calling someone else a fucking scrub
>defending and being prideful as his job of fast food manager.

plz user... set your sights higher.

Nintendo has done it again, they discovered a new way to print money.

...

just move your mock locations app to system, it bypasses settings
now you are at every gym and pokestop. kek

It has scarcely even begun. Not even ten days into its lifespan, and hasn't launched in EU/Asia yet.

once it hits china holy mother of fucking god

depending on his age and his state. being a manager can be awesome. for example in n out has excellent staff and benefits

I sympathize because it's not possible to stop everyone, they'll just give you an attitude, and at minimum wage you don't have much power to throw them out without calling the cops each time. There's literally no way to enforce it if someone comes in, gets in line, takes their poke, then leaves.

only if you're in the same city as their US HQ apparently.

fuckin' blues, just typical of their kind.

>fuckin' blues, just typical of their kind.

Absolutely disgusting, the Yellow nation will have to shock them into place.

Might as well let natural selection do its job.

>pre-determined
lol
if you believe there was no money involved i'm not surprised you installed the app

The barrier between our world and the meme world has broken.
