Do doot doodoo doot dodoo do doot

Daily Reminder this game came out before most of Sup Forums was born.

and its one of my favorite games so far.

Those were good times, when Squaresoft made good games

Parasite Eve 2 is highly underrated.

Makes me want to go back and play more "7.0" games now that I know critics have their head up their butthole.

my mom fucking loves this game

The first one is the only good one.
PE2 is a mediocre RE clone. And admittedly I've not played 3 but I've heard bad things.
Square still makes good games

Yep. When they took on the Enix they sort of turned to shit. God that 3rd birthday game was an atrocity.

I honestly really disliked PE2

>Parasite Eve 2 is highly underrated.

the big problem with it is that it feels so filler. the story in 1 is constantly moving forward and is intriguing while two thirds of the second game take place at a motel full of monsters where nothing much happens and ends with you fighting dudes in armor at a military base. it is a good game but it fares poorly in comparison to the first one.

When I read that I thought of this.

Yeah man its not like KH2 FM, FFXII, DQVIII, or Nier were great games or anything....

That and no Yoko.

>PE2 is a mediocre RE clone
Naw senpai. It has killer atmosphere and probably the cleanest JRPG/action combat system ever devised.

It is kind of short and makes you backtrack a lot, but it's still great imho.

No accounting for taste I guess. I played it for the first time recently and thought it was awesome.

The motel area is great, though. Felt really X-files and understated.
>quiet areas
>quiet music
>encountering weird shit all the time
Very unique feel. The ARK area is also awesome, although I agree the underground base is pretty generic.

>That bullshit after the last boss

IT'S GETTING HOT
I FEEL LIKE I'M BURNING UP
MITOCHONDRIA, MITOCHONDRIA, MITOCHONDRIA, MITOCHONDRIA, MITOCHONDRIA, MITOCHONDRIA

>and probably the cleanest JRPG/action combat system ever devised
Early on the combat system seemed really stupid to me. Enemies move at almost the same pace you do. You just walk backwards when it gets close, shoot at it, and then repeat until its dead.

>mfw Square Enix lost the rights to PE

Alright, I'll give you KH2 and Nier, but FFXII started the whole MMO without other people bullshit where you have to grind for hours and hours.

(I don't play DQ so I'll have to take your word on that though)

But even with those, their track record is still more miss than hit.

I really liked having a limited pool of items you could take into battle. Neat concept.

The early enemies are easy but there is stuff later that will wreck your shit if you don't handle it correctly. Overall it's more strategic than tactical, though. You have to know what to use when more than control the character well.

Kyle was one of the most incompetently written characters ever though.

What was so bad about him? Yeah there was the lame "double double cross" le twist, but it's acceptable cheese.

You don't have to grind in FFXII if you only use 3 party members. Its perfectly beatable without touching all 6. True, its a legitimate complaint, but the grinding is avoidable if you don't want to deal with it, and if anything, I'd argue FFXII stands strong in terms of worldbuilding. There's a huge amount of detail that goes into how people interact with the world of Ivalice, from how the economic system of Archades and Rabanastre work to just in general optional explorable areas based on events from earlier in the story (Nabudis in particular, which was destroyed in the very beginning of the game). It probably has the most detailed bestiary in any game out there, too. I realize that may seem silly, but I think the way the game handled its world makes it stand out amongst most games and makes Ivalice seem much more immersive than most similar titles. Its the thing I find most attractive about it, anyways.

>FFXII
>MMO
When will this meme end?

I wouldn't disagree on the world building or story in general, but I couldn't even get through it all because I just found I couldn't justify the amount of time I was sinking into it to progress. It felt like that stuff would have been better served just put in a show instead.

Hell, I would argue using all six character to slow down being over-leveled (which you'll nivriably be sadly, unless you only to the main story path).

I loved FFXII, but one of my main complaints was how you're always going to end up over-leveled if you like doing the hunts and side quests. Which means that there's is always going to be perfectly cool, otherwise well-designed and interesting fights for which you'll be over-leveled and blasting through without ever noticing or even needing the strat stuff.

Had to make a run for the no XP rings as soon as I could on my third playtrough and then actually schedule xp growth.

Nier was the only one of those I liked
Beat KH 2 and FF12 but I wasn't crazy about them
Dropped DQ8

Not terrible games just not for me

Another way to limit XP growth is to poach mostly every enemy. Can help.

I loved PE2 but I basically just used the M4A1 and the grenade launcher attachment the moment I got it. Was any other weapon as useful?

I didn't play the first game, but PE2 took part in my childhood...

It was a pretty cool game to play. Story seems weak though.

Is she hot?

I would describe her as an orange with toothpicks sticking out for limbs

The Pyke is basically a huge fucking murder-stunlock.

With Energy Shot Lv.3 it's just silly.

Autopistol is pretty much requisite for Nightmare Modo

:'( Thanks for crushing my dreams of a hot milf with good taste in video games.

Loved PE1
One of my biggest gaming regrets was never beating the final boss of the chrysler building. It was just too much grinding and the fight was ridiculous.

Omw

Please note that I will break your arms if you try to fuck my mom.

Reminder that Bounty and Nightmare Mode are the best ng+ modes any game ever did in gaming history.
